If I could give less than 1 star I would. This is not where you want to go to renew your passport. For their ridiculous fee, all you receive are the forms (which you can print for free from the actual government website), and a pre-paid envelope to send your forms in. Which actually didn’t work at all!! The post office said the label was bogus and charged me an additional 20 to mail the forms. Not to mention you also will pay the passport renewal fee to the government which is not included in what this bogus company charges either. Absolutely ridiculous. Save your money and go to the real website.
Not sure how these people can be in business.
I got duped for sure, don’t let it happen to you.
THIS IS A PRIVATE 3RD PARTY - DO NOT USE
I wish it was clearer upfront that GovAssist is a private company and not an official government site. I tried to stop the transaction right away, and they only offer automated support. They made a ticket and said they would call me back but they never did. While the customer service team was polite when I reached out, the pricing and distinction need to be much more transparent. Double-check official government websites before submitting/paying. Now they have all my private info.... I regret that they fooled me at first.

be careful...govassist.com is a somewhat legal scam
what everyone else is saying...this is a deceptive business as you are led to believe it is a US gov't website but it is not. I have already filed a fraud report with the US gov't, requested a full stop of payment with cc company, and considering legal action.
This company stole from me.
Not a scam, but...
Website and marketing material was misleading, making me think that it was a government website. I didn't realize until after the charges that it would cost almost 3 times as much to renew my passport as doing it on my own. I went ahead, for the convenience. They seemed very responsive at first. However, even a month and a half after submitting my paperwork they could only tell me that it was "in the queue" to be "submitted to the DOJ". That wqas upsetting, since their selling point was that things would be done quicker. When I inquired further, complaining about the lack of information and and the slowness, they responded with a refund of my payment and no further explanation.
They are scammers
They are scammers for people getting online passport application. These services are free and they charge exorbitant amount to fill out a form. Make sure you are logged in to the right government website.

DECEITFUL
DECEITFUL. AVOID.
For passport renewal, purposefully misleads by advertising and "charging" the same price as the base government charge (as of this writing $130). Designed to confuse and mislead.
In fact, their process COMPLICATES passport renewal.
A total scam! Why is it still in business?
Beware of GovAssist / Entry.com!
I Googled “passport renewal” and was directed to a site that looked like an official U.S. government website. I only realized it was third-party after paying $226—nearly 3x the government fee.
My 16-year-old wasn’t even eligible for online renewal, yet they charged us for a service we never requested and they couldn’t provide. Now they offer only a 30% refund.
The website also appears to have changed from GovAssist.com to Entry.com. Very misleading and completely unacceptable. Consumers beware!
Another victim of this SCAM operation
Another victim of this SCAM operation, unfortunately. How is it even possible that no one can stop this from continuing to happen??? The only people who are seeing these reviews are the ones that were victimized themselves and came here to post!
Disappointing experience
Disappointing experience – refund refused despite repeated requests
I am sharing my experience so that other customers can make an informed decision before using GovAssist / US Visa Connection.
On April 17, 2026, I made a payment of USD 199.00 (Order ID 11957576827, reference DS160-HJQMUKP4).
After the payment, I realized that I did not wish to proceed with the service and contacted GovAssist to request a full refund. I clearly explained that I did not want to continue with their services and that I did not want any alternative service.
I repeatedly requested the USD 199 refund. Instead of processing the refund, GovAssist repeatedly offered alternative services, including:
interview simulation;
interview scheduling assistance;
DS-160 document review;
priority support and step-by-step assistance.
I clearly declined these offers and repeatedly stated that I wanted a refund and did not wish to continue with the service.
GovAssist repeatedly responded that the payment had been processed and that they could not issue a refund. They did not provide me with a specific explanation of what service had actually been completed for the USD 199 payment.
Most recently, after I initiated a dispute with my bank/payment provider, GovAssist asked me to cancel the chargeback and continue with their services.
I have declined all alternative services and will allow my bank/payment provider to review the matter.
I am not claiming that GovAssist is a government website. I understand that it is a private assistance company. My concern is specifically about my experience with the USD 199 payment and the refusal to provide a refund despite my repeated requests not to continue with the service.
I am posting this review based on my actual experience and the written correspondence I have received from the company.
My recommendation: carefully review the pricing, refund policy and exact services being purchased before making a payment.
I hope GovAssist will ultimately reconsider and resolve this matter fairly by refunding the USD 199.00.
This is a scam website
This is a scam website, masquerading as a government site. You pay &
$140 and it doesn’t include the government fees. After filing a complaint they will drag their feet and offer discounts on fees to try to keep it alive.
Deliberately misleading. Borderline fraudulent.
Expect an 11 month delay, unresponsive support, and wrongful charges
I have previously gotten a US visa by applying through GovAssist in 2021 after getting their details from the US State Department Website.
Upon applying again in 2026, I had the worst experience and got scammed. This company seems to have replaced most of its agents with AI and gone extremely greedy. I have paid their usual application fees in addition to a priority fee to get my application submitted in 3 days, and a 30day interview guarantee to get an visa interview slot within 30days.
Despite taking all the money upfront, I did not get any response for 4months afterwhich my Visa was applied. There was no response despite 10s of attempts to call, email, or live chat with customer service. I later got an interview slot after 7months (despite paying for a 30day guarantee).
They refused to refund the priority and interview guarantee add on fees saying that "the payment was already processed."
In summary, they charged for services and SLAs that they did not deliver on and refused to refund. My 30day application took 11 months with very poor response rates and expectation management.

I paid 217.00 for a passport I never received. Now have to renew thru usps in person and can go the day before my trip. BIg rip off!!!!
Don’t waste your money or your time.
My wife went to their website to renew her passport, filled out their forms, provided two jpeg photos and paid $198, thinking she would receive her passport. A week later, I looked at their site and it looked suspicious, so I went to the true State Department.gov website and filled out their form and paid $130 by credit card and got my passport I. 2-1/2 weeks. After 4 weeks, we found a delivery envelope on our doorstep, and inside was a State Department form for renewing her passport filled out, and a letter saying add a physical photo where indicated on the form and attach a check made out to the State Department for $212. There was a meter stamped and addressed USPS Priority Envelope we were told to put everything in. We instantly thought Scam. She paid $200 for them to fill out a form. I cut a check for $130 and packed the Priority envelope and took it to the post office, thinking it was addressed to the State Department for passport renewal. 4 days later, my wife received an email from these people saying they received per form with the check, but they wanted a check for $212 and would wait. I contacted my credit card company to stop payment on her initial payment, but they said we needed to get the company to give us a refund. My wife asked but they denied. After 6 weeks, I went to the State Department.gov and applied for her passport. The next day, she received an envelope with her form, the check we’d sent for $130 and a letter from the government passport renewal agency rejecting the application the Govtassist company had finally sent to them. She trusted them and after 6-1/2 weeks, what they charged her $198 to do for her was rejected by the government. The application I filled out for her on the State Department.gov website was accepted and she received her passport after 1 week. Don’t waste your money or your time with this company. We wasted both on them.

I too googled how to renew my passport and this company came up. I thought I was on the real government sight. Paid $167 and $148 for myself and my husband. Hope they don’t sell my personal info!!
