If there was some negative rating - like -1 or -2 stars - I would have used that without a shadow of a doubt.
It is hard to overestimate the negligence and lack of good faith on the part of that Vanilla Gift in regard to the customers.
I and my wife got that card for $50 as gift - it was freshly bought as a gift. The first time we tried to use it there was no money because some fraudsters got it - totally the fault of the company regarding the leak of the information, and all the scam transactions were posted in the record. Called the company 2 times, they sent a new card with only $26 (??!!). Called several times again, they forced us to email the request to their reclamation or whatever. Several months passed - NOTHING. They basically recognized their fault too. So one can make their own conclusions..
My advice to my friends and relatives - under no circumstances buy this card!

I have now had TWO experiences with these cards - I was unable to use them, customer service took over 45 minutes to answer the phone and then did not resolve the problems. People have bought these cards and lost $200 of their well-intended gift money, for a VISA card I cannot use! NEVER EVER buy a Vanilla Card!!!!

Absolutely horrible customer experience. Their online checkout system is a HUGE pita. I had 3 cards decline and temporarily lock up bc. I had to call all 3 to confirm and then their system did it all over again. I tried to use my bank card and the same happened. I called their center and spoke to someone who sounded like she was at a rock concert and could not speak English clearly. Awful experience took a total of 53 minutes to order a email gc. Fingers crossed they get that correct...

Fraudulent and terrible customer service.
These cards are a scam. I received one as a gift, checked the balance upon getting it and it was fully there. Later when I went to use it, the whole balance but $0.14 was there. All for small charges online. And over half of these had been initially declined for security reasons by the company. Then suddenly these charges were allowed to be completed. I emailed the fraud department with all the evidence, including all the instances that they had declined the charges due to it being flagged by security only to receive an email stating that I would not get my money back and they offered no reason as to why this was the case. When I emailed once again, I got a short email again saying they were not going to approve my dispute, again with no information as to why. Despite me asking why they had come to this conclusion. I would never purchase one of these cards and would tell others not to as well. These are total scams and will drain the balance and refuse to help you. Looking into it online, this seems to be a common issue with these cards. The customer service was ridiculous. I provided all the evidence as to why my card was clearly used fraudulently and the dates and times etc, and when I asked them to reconsider this evidence after they first declined my request, I asked them to please provide:
The specific reason my fraud dispute was denied.
The evidence relied upon in reaching that decision.
An explanation of why the series of declined transactions followed by successful transactions was not considered evidence of unauthorized use.
The procedure for escalating this matter for a further review or appeal
Not a single one of these questions and concerns was responded to. I got a simple email saying they re-evaluated the “evidence” and were declining my dispute and were closing my case. So very disappointed and disgusted in this company.

This is terrible. Vanilla Gift has caused me so much pain over the years. I once got a $50 prepaid card for Christmas. I had not used it until a while ago, so when I went to put it in Apple Pay, it couldn’t do it. I went to purchase something online, wouldn’t do it. In store? Wouldn’t do it. I genuinely hate this company and wish they could get taken down.

Don't buy!
I ordered a $100 Vanilla Gift Card to be mailed to my cousin in Philadelphia. My cousin never received it but the funds were used. I called the company about this problem. They said they would contact me in 48 hours. It's been a month and no one has contacted me. This is a scam company.
Edit: I have contacted the company as they requested on Facebook and Instagram. No answer.

Still waiting for the gift card, I purchased to get to the recipient. Very slow delivery. Contacted Vanilla to get an explanation but the person at customer service was so hard to understand he was hardly any help at all. Will be looking at other venders for future purchases !!!
