Megabus Arvostelua 

Not worth 1 star, but had to choose something …
Booked a bus for 4am departure from Kingston. We had a flight to catch at Toronto Pearson at 11am. We were going to arrive at airport 5hrs in advance (due to limited bus service availability).
That morning we sat at the bus depot for 2.5hours. Driver never did arrive.

On top of the $250 in bus tickets, we then had to pay for a uber to make it to the airport on time (another $480 expense).

When we complained about the terrible service and lack of notice to its patrons; MegaBus offered an insulting $10 credit to be used on their bus lines. $10 total, not per person …. $10. Basically they said thanks for the donation and peaced out.

Absolutely will NEVER use this Company as an option of travel. And I highly recommend you don’t either.

We had the worst time experience ever. My wife and I with two young daughters booked a return trip from Stewart Airport to New York City. And pre booked a day trip from NYC to Washington and back. The coach smelled of weed and had sticky seats and broken seatbelts. It was over 100 degrees and when asking the drives for some fresh air, she completely switched off the ventilation. Queuing up was a disaster resulting angry mobs cutting lines while standing there being harassed by many people who try to trick you into a cab, yelling that the busses are full. No proper representatives are present to guide the process.
This is the worst coach company

The customer service reps at Megabus are imbeciles. They seem to have problems answering Simple, Basic questions. If you know where you are going, forget CS just book online.

I would like to make a complain regarding the trip Victoria Coach Station - Leeds City Bus Station the driver I was rude, he don’t let me to buy anything from shop water or something to eat . I was staying with out water and food 7h, that is very frustratred without water or food… Qnd isn’t acceptable to been treated like this. We was treated likes animals.

I travelled on the 2PM service leaving Washington DC to New York City. The bus we were going on arrived in Washington at 1:30pm but we were told the driver had decided he was feeling tired and wanted a break. An hour later which was 30mins after the scheduled departure he agreed to start the boarding process. Although the men who loaded the luggage had been standing around for the hour the bus was there and looking at us all lined up and our bags they decided to wait until we boarded to select foreigners such as us for "random" luggage weight checks. Our luggage was 5pounds over the 50 pound limit and we offered to reorganise the bag but because the bus was now "running late" they said there was no time for that but if we gave them $40 they would look the other way. This is extortion and made the 4 of them a nice little amount extra for the few of us they targeted. When I got my money out to pay they saw I had more than $40 and they joked that they should have asked for more (very shady). We ended up leaving 48mins late and the driver must have still been tired because we came close to having 2 accidents between union station and the interstate and then when on the interstate he was driving slow and wandering all over the road. People got a bit nervous about his driving and started putting their seatbelts on. As we were driving along the driver must have radioed head office to say he couldn't drive anymore. We were told that a new driver was going to be waiting at exit 8 but instead of pulling off at that exit he pulled off at exit 5 so we had to wait for an hour on the side of the road for the replacement driver to catch up with us. Some of the passengers had enough and got together and caught an uber the rest of the way to New York over 70miles away. We arrived in New York 3 hours late in the end (2 hours due to driver incompetence and 1 hour due to traffic) then the driver just opened up the luggage hold and walked away. The luggage had been stacked all over the place and we all stood back expecting a staff member to unload it but after a couple of minutes nobody came so everyone started grabbing random bags and throwing them on the footpath so they could get to theirs and go home. An expensive PS4 was broken in the mad free for all because it was sitting on someones bag that they grabbed dislodging it sending it down 12 feet into the gutter full of water. The whole management of this trip from start to finish was just hopeless and not good enough. The 1st driver should have asked for a replacement before we left and our luggage should have been unloaded when we arrived in New York. I think we all deserve a refund for the trip but I won't hold my breath waiting for one. AVOID!!!!!
