I submitted an application based on online reviews and websites recommending Upwise. I was contacted by an agent who will remain unnamed for privacy purposes but I am happy to share with anyone who contacts me from Upwise.
I have a business that is 7 years old, it has been profitable since year 1. We have seen steady and aggressive growth with very little overhead. This is our first commercial loan we have taken out, so I am the personal guarantor. My credit score is consistently between 820-840. I carry no personal debt and my credit cards are paid monthly. I have a lengthy and very strong credit history.
I was told by the agent commercial rates with my credit were in the 3-4% range.
I submitted all documentation including 6 months of financial records.
I received a call back from the unnamed agent who committed to email me the approval from underwriting within an hour. Instead I received a call about an hour later.
I was told that I was approved at 1.373%, which was a surprise. I have personal loan offers at .9 but not commercial. I was happy that they were so aggressive, so I asked again to get it in writing. Then the agent told me the amount on a 44k loan for a new truck would have 60 payments at $1006 per month....
I was kind but told him the math did not add up as that is over 60k in loan payback which would put the rate at/near/above 15%....
He became very evasive at that point and keep saying it was 1.373%. It was a thinly veiled attempt at loan sharking to someone with perfect credit and a strong balance sheet. I continued to give the benefit of the doubt as I thought he may have been confused. I pushed and told him that the math did not add up. The more I pushed, the more evasive he became. I finally told him to have a manager contact me as he was extremely deceptive and the offer was an insult to my intelligence and credit.
It is a clear attempt to swindle someone who cannot do the easy math. He could have easily explained the math or emailed over the numbers as I requested. Instead I did the math backwards to realize they were trying to quote me at 15%++++
Don't trust this company or their reviews.

Adding to my review based on their response. My credit came back @ 848, 2 points away from perfect. BofA did approve my loan as they mentioned in less than 3 hours at…… 2%!!!! For a commercial loan!!
I am happy to verify this information for any interested party. Don't be fooled by party tricks from someone who has called and begged to have the review removed and even discussed my personal financial information they were offering with our office where they told our office admin they would go to 2%ish range.
I am appalled and would not have updated if not for the misrepresentation of their response. I told them to stop contacting me and attempting to discuss MY PERSONAL financial details with my office staff. They told him the same and they that were not authorized to discuss....
Consider everything I have said previously, their response and loan shark rates, then make your own decision…

To further clarify another lie, I did provide my details to TrustPilot and did speak with your management team, I also told them via text to stop contacting me as they would not stop calling or texting after the call that we had where I explained everything and they confirmed my experience as they told me the call was recorded and they had reviewed the call. It is consistent with the same experience that I had that they would rather not tell the truth than to be transparent. For privacy reasons I will not list the number they called from but again I can verify this and the following text messages still on my phone from the management team..
