Great Ping Service that is helpful for keeping Things hosted extern with free plans Up

We've relied on UptimeRobot for our NGO's websites, and it's been fantastic. It's easy to use, reliable, and helps us stay connected with our community. Highly recommended!

My company has just started utilizing uptimerobot. We were looking for a simple up/down dashboard for the IT Dept to utilize. This fit the bill almost perfectly. It also has some useful additional features, such as email/text/push alerting. I will update this review if necessary as we use the product further.

UptimeRobot has been great for years!
But in November they silently changed their terms for the free tier. It is now only for private and non-commercial sites.
But this was completely without any notification, no email, no blog post and no information on their site.
It even seems to be rushed because there is no updates about this on their site (except the term of service). It is probably deliberately hidden, because they had almost half a year to update the site, but chosen not to. Their page title still say, "Free Website Monitoring Service", their pricing page does not say a word about commercial usage, nor when you sign up for their service.
Even the FAQ says "UptimeRobot is launched in January 2010 and it is totally free since then."
The only information about this change is in the terms of service (which I do not read very often) and when I suddenly get a "Your usage may not comply with our Terms of Service" when I log in to the service.

We are using UptimeRobot to monitor our sites. The original issue was related to DNS. The monitors have helped us to detect when the systems went down and for how long. We received email notifications and were able to see detailed logs, showing insights like the time to load the page.
We are happy with the functionalities from UptimeRobot and would recommend to you too.

UptimeRobot is a great tool for small teams that can't build out large, complex monitoring solutions. In less than a few hours I am watching HTTP status codes, keyword, and port monitoring for our public-facing services. I also very quickly integrated the notifications with Teams so that our department can rapidly acknowledge and fix unexpected outages.

We started using Uptime Robot this year. It has been much easier for us to report up/down time for external connections. As well as being able to give completely accurate downtime and resolution time. Would highly recommend using Uptime Robot!!!!!

No-frills uptime checking. I'm using it for my self-hosted stuff. Customer support was very friendly and reacted quickly to my questions.

Have used uptimerobot for many years in a personal capacity and always found the alerts to be accurate and useful.

The application was really good to use and always updated me if there was any downtime.

Ik krijg mails van deze robot terwijl ik me nooit heb aangemeld. Volgens mij is het spam voor een nep-service.

Correctie: ik heb me wel aangemeld en ik krijg ineens meldingen. Dat kan een event op mijn site zijn. Ik krijg overigens ook ongevraagde aanbiedingen, maar dat mag je van een gratis dienst verwachten.

It's a really good service however the the Customer Service is trash and they don't care about the people that helped them build to what they were.

I've been with this service on the free plan for several years. It's been pretty good. I've even inquired about the "custom plans" they offer because I definitely wanted to pay for the service however they don't actually offer custom plans they just do what they want.

Their tiers of service don't make sense going from the free plan to the paid plan. I have different needs then their bottom tier and would have to pay quite a bit for something close to what I need. This is where I tried to work with them but stayed on the free plan instead because they didn't know how to work with customers or take useful feedback.

Recently they decided that many people were using for commercial use. Apparently I'm one of them and will be booted from the service in a few days. They have no respect and just like every other company that grows they decide they want to drain clients dry rather than making things reasonable.

I tried, and would have loved to stay however they aren't receptive to what is actually needed and it's a shame.

Good Riddance.

I've used UptimeRobot for years and love it's easy-to-use interface and useful functionality.

UptimeRobot has been a game-changer for our monitoring needs. We can now respond to failures within minutes, removing the need to constantly monitor emails (like we do right now with our on prem monitoring solution). The mobile app notifications have been incredibly convenient, and for critical servers, I’ve also set up text message and phone call alerts.

I only wish I had discovered this product sooner! I highly recommend UptimeRobot to anyone looking for reliable uptime monitoring

My company is an IT provider for several small and medium sized businesses. We have a separate commercial RMM tool to monitor up and downtime for client sites and servers, but honestly, we also happily subscribe to UptimeRobot for down and up alerts. Being proactive for our clients is priceless and we have been happy UptimeRobot clients for YEARS! Their emails are so simple to read and reliable (especially when it's 0300 and we get a server down alert). It's great to have this as a tool for our business so we can deliver the best service for our clients. Highly recommended!

As a hospital serving the community, its important to know if there are issues outside of our control. Uptime Robot gives us that ability to know what the user is seeing from outside our environment and if connectivity issues exist between campuses. Getting notified real-time with Slack, email, or SMS has limited any outages and allowed proactive resolutions.

We depend on UptimeRobot for realtime monitoring of our website's status--we're too small for a full-time IT department, so there's real peace of mind that comes with knowing that I'll get an alert if there's a critical problem with our site.
