United Nation Van Lines Arvostelua 

We have been using United Nation Van Lines as our go-to movers for about 8 years now, making this our fifth or sixth move with them. The entire team has never ceased to be anything less than 100% professional on every single one of those occasions. Great performance is one thing but that level of consistency is another thing altogether. I have no qualms recommending them - they will do a great move for you just as they have been doing for our family. You will also get a better deal budget-wise than most of their competitors but without sacrificing the high standard as you would be forced to with many of the smaller companies.

We have tried several movers over the years but always return to United Nation Van Lines. Basically, the other companies may advertise slightly lower prices but it’s usually a front for ‘extra costs’ to be added to the total later. That’s never happened in the three times that we have hired these guys for our move. We were moving from Charlotte, NC to New York this time. They did their magic, and did it all within the time they allocated. No complaints whatsoever. Our fave movers!

This company is the worst moving company I have ever worked with. The original sales guy, Roland King, told me that he would be my representative to contact for all facets of my move. He assured me that all movers were employees of UNVL and that all trucks were owned by UNVL. None of this was true. After the down payment check cleared I had no representation, the employees were mostly contract as were the trucks. Our furniture arrived with lots of damage - broken leg on dining room set, dining table dropped on a corner so that the top will need to be refinished, granite topped sofa table cracked and missing corner, etc.... In addition to damage there were brand new items in the original factory packaging that did not arrive. UNVL assured me that they would check their warehouse to see if these items were misplaced. They were sure that these were not stolen...right.

I was fooled by all the 5 star reviews with the glowing testimonials of how awesome this company is. Now I am convinced that these are all fake reviews. Check out reviews on Yelp for this mover. Apparently the thieves at UNVL only submit fake reviews to Trustpilot or Yelp is better at rejecting dubious reviews.

Conclusion - Do not hire this company!!!!

Another 5 star rating from a loyal customer who has been hiring United Nation Van Lines for years. I have never seen their performance standards fall in all these hires, despite using them almost a dozen times already. They have been able to match the needs of our growing family with ease, still delivering with the same speed, nothing damaged or lost. This job involved moving our things out of a condominium in Chicago, IL to a 4-bedroom house in Castle Rock, CO.

I wouldn’t have written a review for just any average performance for any average company, let alone one that I give 5 stars for. United Nation Van Lines pretty much compelled me to write this one with how well they pulled off our recent move from Los Angeles, CA to Fort Worth, TX. It was conducted by young men in crisp, clean uniforms, driving a new-looking and clean truck. They were on time, polite, and worked hard. I am happy to have chosen them and recommend them highly.

We were moving our office in Philadelphia, PA to a new and improved location in Richmond, VA and used United Nation Van Lines for the job. It was actually based on a recommendation from one of my staff who had moved to PA a few years ago and had been raving about United Nation Van Lines’s competence and delivery speed. When I called them up and explained that I needed things up and running fast at the new premises, they helped us work out a plan where the 3 truckloads would deliver the items over the weekend to minimize down time. It worked out perfectly. 5 stars.

We haven’t used movers in years but this was an eye-opening hire with United Nation Van Lines. They are just so much better than what we remember from before. Maybe the entire industry has evolved, I don’t know, but everything just seemed so much more professional and orderly. Our memory from when we used to move every couple of years was of a rather disjointed and chaotic process. Of course, technology like GPS and tracking and instant updates on our phones makes things easier also. We don’t plan to move again anytime soon but United Nation Van Lines has showed us that it is an excellent choice.

5 stars. We have used budget movers before, had friends help us move, and used several professional movers. Of all these experiences, the one we had with United Nation Van Lines last week was the best. They give the best balance of time, money and convenience that we have seen. This company is not the cheapest but every penny they charge goes into creating the ideal customer experience. It’s as much due to the moving team as it is with their managers. They run a tight ship and oversee everything down to the last detail. I am happy to recommend them.

Of all the movers that I have used in my 52 years, I can categorically state that not one has managed to do as great a job as United Nation Van Lines. You would think that that is their best feature but no. It is actually how they manage to keep their prices not high despite doing such a great job. I asked 4 other moving companies in my area for a quote and they were all higher than what I was offered from United Nation Van Lines. When I looked at the reviews for those companies, some were average while one of them was just terrible. By contrast, United Nation Van Lines’s reviews have been consistently good over years. That’s how you tell real quality from the posers. I’d hire again.

Of all the moving companies that I could have hired, I chose United Nation Van Lines once again because of the reliability factor. That makes this the third time that I have entrusted my house and everything inside to the same people. Their performance is always consistent – there is no confusion about what needs to be paid, who is responsible for what during packing, transportation or unloading. It all falls together like clockwork. I am very impressed. Their office people are also very professional. I always got the answers to my questions promptly and without any confusing jargon. Overall, a very pleasant experience and I would hire them again. We were moving a 4-bedroom house from Virginia to Maryland.

I would not have written this review if not for the coordination manager who we spoke to several times. She was able to arrange and rearrange the dates and times on numerous occasions to accommodate some changes that we had been forced into because my husband lost his job during the pandemic. Not much building back better going on! Anyway, with her help, everything fell into place and we were able to keep from being homeless for a few nights. Not to take away from the excellent work of the moving team, though! Definite future rehire.

This is my second hire of United Nation Van Lines for a home move and they have left me pleased with my choice once again. It’s pretty clear from the way that the movers behave with customers and how well they perform their job that the company chooses its employees wisely, and probably also trains them. I am quite surprised that they do not price themselves higher – some of their competitors that I have hired before charge more but cannot match this level of quality. I already plan to hire them for a third time in the near future and have also recommended them to friends who will be moving soon.

Buyer Beware!! This company will rip you off. Just try calling their so-called Customer Service. They NEVER call back. When I finally got through to them, they lied to me TWICE! I've since found out that they have kept other people's possessions until they extort more money from you. I would bet that most of those favorable reviews are padding created by the company itself. Do yourself a favor and find a reputable firm, not one that tries to play off the name 'United Van Lines' but is a sham.

Not one of your ordinary, run of the mill moving companies. They were really easy to work with – listened to our instructions on moving fragile items and big electronic devices, came on time and finished within the time they had said they would. We managed to get our move to California from Texas done ahead of schedule because they did such a fine job. I would hire them again, no questions asked. We were moving a 3-bedroom house from Fort Worth, TX to Lompoc, CA.

Don't be bamboozled. These guys are a joke. I am convinced that the reviews you are seeing online are all done internally and are fake. They have maybe a total of 3/4 workers that take calls and book deals. Richie, Lisa, and one more warehouse manager.

The process: They hire crews for each part of your job. Packing, loading, unloading, delivery, and finally unloading your stuff. The ONLY part they will take responsibility for is... Nothing. It's actually brilliant. Why? Because they have built a system where they can point to any other 3rd party and say it's their fault. Therefore, you are stuck holding the short end of the stick WHEN (not if!) anything happens. You are forced to take it up with the 3rd party responsible. And let me tell you... that's nearly impossible as you don't know who they are or what company they have (if any).

It took our stuff almost a 30 days post pick-up to make it to our house. It should have been sooner, but one of the 3rd party drivers picked up the WRONG stuff and brought it to our house. When I called United Nation they said it was not their issue and that it was the driver's fault. Well, I couldn't take it up with this particular driver as he had someone else's stuff and he just left to deliver it to the correct location. SO... we waited an additional 10 days to get our correct stuff.

I was told by United Nation that I would receive a call to make things right at the very end of my move... I have YET to receive a call and it has now been 14 days since our stuff was dropped off.

We were ultimately charged $4K more than what we were quoted.

My calls were screened by United Nation and I never ONCE received a call back from them even though I was told numerous times that I would receive a call back. The only way you will get anything done and get any information is IF YOU continually call and IF they decide to answer your call(s).

When I called to ask about the manager or owner... I was told he was too busy.

Ultimately, a terrible experience. Again, they have built a system where it will NEVER be their fault and it will leave you with short end of the stick. Do not use them. You will regret it. Don't be tempted to use them because of the "low" price they quote you. It will NOT end that way. Proceed with caution.

Oh my God. What did I do by letting them take everything I own. They have all my life paper work in boxes. I keep all paper work. I'm 70 years old and I need my medical records. They are not delivering peoples things. What am I going to do??? Please someone help us. They have my things 15 days, I cannot get answers. I paid it all up front $15K. What am I supposed to do??? I'm sleeping on floor with 3 cats in empty house. I believe my things were stolen.
Reported to BBB, FTC, Attorney General, Consumer Affairs, DOT. I'm not the only one here READ ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE IN TROUBLE ALSO.
This is still going on. People besides me have their things hostage. The Russian owners have all of our things. Everyone needs to file lawsuits now before it's too late. My entire life belongings are with these people. I have nothing. You need to come across with all of our things. You will pay for this someday. How could you be so cruel and heartless.

Deceit is built into every element of this company, get you hooked with a low estimate, get a securinty deposit of thousands, get a truck too small for the load, get into your house with crew and boxes and announce that the estimate must be recalculated. This for us increased the cost from about 12k to about 20k. We could take it or leave it, too late for getting the deposit back. This is a mid stream hostage situation. Too committed to timing to start over. Contract is binding on client, but has a list of spaces for the mover to add more costs after getting posession of your stuff, which is illegal. Never on time, said about 7 days to move us, took the max of 17 days, which had us camping out for 2 weeks in a house without furniture. Showed up half a day late on move day. Never on time, very hard to get on the phone, some abusive on the phone,, never call back. Lied about costs of mid stream recalculation saying it was same per unit as the original, but they added a surcharge for everyghing beyond the original estimate, which was their intentional underestimate. They owe us thousands in refund due to this. They broke fine china by putting it flat in the bottom of boxes and putting heavy objects on top, crushing various china platters and cups. They broke plates, platters, glass in the china cabinet and framed pictures, cups, glasses, a clock, the Tiffany lamp, most floor lamps sprung from the base and wobbly, a wall clock, a padded antique rocking chair which they abandonded and did not move, and bent a frying pan, to name a few. We have about 100 pictures of damage which i will try to attach to a subsequent post. The consumer affair web site is a fraud, and that is what led us to this horrible company. They dumped clothes into the wardrobe boxes without hangers, packing suits and good clothes into a mashed mass, and on occasion mixed other stuff in the clothes. They lost the key to the china cabinet, broke some of the glass in that cabinet, and broke the leaded glass Tiffany lampshade, the most valuable object we had, by pressing the edges hard down across a metal pipelike base without padding. Their liablility for a $300 lampshade is $0.60 per pound, so if this weighed 5 pounds and they paid you wou,ld get $3. I paid $175 in the contract for the upright piano which they then refused to move so i eveintually paid them $200 more cash on site to get them to move it. They lease trucks and hire contractors for the work. One individual, who i think was an employee, vandalized our stuff by intentionally packing it to break. This was often by putting large china platters in the bottom of a box and piling pots on top with no padding. They bent a fryng pan. The contract employees usually did a good job, but the prevailing outcome of this move was horrible due to the initial deceit of the first sales contract, and the malign and hostile behaviour or the first supervisor (loading) to set so much of our stuff up for destruction. Stay away from these people, do not believe a word they say, and do not rely on Consumer Affairs as an honest reporter.

5 stars. We used United Nation Van Lines to move us from a 2-bedroom condo in Portland, OR to a 3-bedroom house in Phoenix, AZ. The office gave us a quote that was on the higher side of average but we still went with them because they came across as more professional than the other companies. Part of the reason was that they answered our questions about how they calculate charges very openly. I got the impression the other companies were under-quoting to get our business, and may have raised the final price later. Absolutely no complaints at all about the moving team, either – friendly guys who knew their job. I would hire this company again.

Do not use this company! Some of my furniture never arrived, and two items were very damaged. They do not respond when I call customer service to make a claim. They will only accept cash or cashier's checks, and they don't own any vehicles - they rent them! Although the crews who picked up and delivered my furnishings were wonderful and worked SO hard, I can't recommend this moving company. AND you will end up paying much more than their estimate.

This horror story is too complex to relay in detail, but I will outline my primary complaints.
My first estimate, given over the phone and later written, was for around $9500 to move from California to Oregon. By the time our furniture was delivered in Oregon, the price had almost doubled. Two of the three increases came after our belongings were loaded and before delivery. We could hardly refuse. Final payment was due in cash or money order before they would offload our household goods. They left a message for us at 10:25 on a Sunday night saying they would arrive to deliver our stuff at 9:00 the next morning. First, this short notice was given almost a month after we were first available to receive our furniture, during which time, we were living in our new home with a folding table, four folding chairs, and a bed we purchased to sleep on rather than the floor. Second, the Monday after they texted was Labor Day. We tried every way we could think of to get the final payment of $6122.80 in cash. No luck. The driver said he would be here the following day, Tuesday, and wait for me to get the cash. He was and I did, but then he and two local hires unloaded the truck. One of the hires was totally inexperienced and had no respect for our belongings. As it turned out, we discovered that the same was probably true of most of the people who handled our stuff. As we unpacked, we discovered several pieces of furniture were broken, several pieces of artwork were damaged, and some delicate glass serving pieces were in pieces!!
I could tell quite a story about my suspicions (why cash or USPS-money orders ONLY?), but I think what I’ve written should be enough to dissuade you from making our mistake. DO NOT BELIEVE THE POSITIVE REVIEWS!!!
