Under the Canopy Arvostelua 

I bought a Duvet insert from them a little while back. I didn’t realize it at the time because I assumed everything was organic cotton, but the duvet insert is made out of recycled polyester. I don’t remember the listing stating that or I wouldn’t have purchased it. I wish I noticed it sooner. It just seems very misleading that everything is organic cotton. I guess I need to read things a little better now, but it is very misleading.

time searching for a company that sold organic cotton towels with an affordable price point. Our problems began when we opened the boxes. There were several bath towels and hand towels that were not sent in any package; they were loose in the box. I have severe OCD (contamination variant). It is extremely difficult to receive anything in a box that does not come in some type of plastic packaging. I thought that most people would want towels and other related items to be shipped in some type of packaging to protect against rain damage, if the box gets drenched. Ironically, other towel sets were packed in plastic packaging, so the inconsistency did not make sense.

In addition to the lack of plastic packaging, there were several towels (one in particular) that were showing signs of fraying (e.g., loose strings, spots showing signs of becoming holes like the fabric had seen years of wear and tear) upon arrival...and several that have become like such after just a few washes. We thought that a company that took pride in organic standards would want their production standards to match.

When we tried to reach out to the company, we got the round-a-round. Per a phone conversation with a customer service agent after we sent an initial email to state our issue, they claimed that they never received our email. My husband then sent it through his email but they claimed they did not receive that either. We used Gmail, then outlook, and they claimed that none of the emails went through. Initially, we used Proton Mail, so we thought that maybe it was an issue with that; however, when Gmail and Outlook didn’t go through, then we came to the conclusion that they didn’t want to address our concerns.

When we finally got somewhere after several calls to customer service, they changed their story. Initially, they claimed that all we had to do was send an email with pictures of the towels. However, they then claimed that we physically had to return the towels. Needless to say, we kept the towels and gave up on trying to press the claim. We are writing this review so that you can AVOID purchasing any products from Under the Canopy. The product quality is subpar, and the customer service seems pleasant enough, however the policy they apparently go by makes it impossible to be happy with their company or products.

My order looked promising and I saw they were a ligit company with good reviews. Not sure how when they sent me towels that looked like they came from a dollar store and not the same as the images, so I swiftly sent them back. Only in the return instructions did they say there would be an $8 handling fee and then they charged $16 instead saying I was paying for the shipping fee too. I essentially paid them to find out that I will never be ordering from them again.

I ordered 6 towels and a set of queen sheets. Washed everything once before using. After using 2 of the towels I washed them and one of the towels was unraveled at the seam. Contacted company and they said they only take returns if unwashed and tags still on items. I was shocked. Obviously it wasn’t stitched correctly or it wouldn’t have come apart. These are expensive towels. I will not be buying any other products form this company.

ORDER UTC253963 was partly shipped only got half the order. They sent two separate shipping notices on different days using same USPS # so that's a lie, Sent emails left message no response. What good is a product if they don't deliver reviews are pretty bad will be buying from their competitors who have good customer service like Parachute and Avocado Green.

I bought an organic cotton wool throw set. It comes beautifully wrapped, as has been reported, and feels beautifully soft out of the package...but that's where it ends. After washing it on gentle cycle, which I always do before using, it became THICKLY covered with lint (like 3" thick), making it impossible to just hang dry. So I dried it on no heat, with no change. When I contacted customer service, they told me this was normal and would go away after a few washes. So I washed and dried it 5 more times. It produced so much lint that my dryer would shut down about every 10 minutes...and it was still thick with lint.
Just handling the blanket caused stickery fibers to become lodged in my clothing which were so irritating that I had to keep changing clothing.
So I contacted customer service again to report that it was a UNUSABLE and asked for management to review this for a refund...to which their response was:
"Our apologies. As stated previously, some shedding is completely normal with organic cotton and wool fibers. We reached out to our management team and received permission to provide a 30% discount for any future purchase."
Really?? On a 150+ purchase. This is a company who does not value their customers or stand by their products. Needless to say, the blanket and pillows are going in the trash, and I won't be returning.

Bought the duvet cover in September. No kids. No animals. Very clean household. First it lost a ton of lint. In January, after 3 months of use (we were out of town for 4 weeks) the duvet cover had 2 holes in 2 different spots diagonal from each other (so can’t be due to use in an area - one was at the arm level on left, one below feet on right). Customer service not helpful in replacing a faulty low quality item that was very expensive. Do not recommend. Don’t buy from here.

My favorite blanket. I have several of the cotton twin blankets in several colors. They wash well and are the best all cotton twin blanket I have tried so far.

I would give them a minus star if I could! They do not stand behind their product even when it has a defect. Poor quality, poor customer service!!

This place has an "F" from the Better Business Bureau (check it out) and I've personally experienced them hiding my review on their website, which is not legal. Based on my experience, it seems the the reviews on their website are hand selected by the company, so I wouldn't trust a majority of them.

I ordered a waffle knit robe from UTC and it started coming apart after one wash. After literally one wash on gentle, there were 30+ pulled threads across the robe. It basically looks like the robe is falling apart. I contacted the customer service email to resolve and was ignored twice. I then called the business and they asked me to send photos, which I did - clearly documenting many, many pulled threads on the product.

Under the Canopy then replied that this is normal and refused to take action.

So a heads-up that this company doesn't stand behind the quality of their products and consider shoddy quality to be "normal."

Ordered from them many times and I’m always satisfied with their products and packaging. I’m a life long consumer.

Brought tons of bedsheets and towels, it's ceritified organic cotton and it's affordable!

Wonderful company! I have ordered several times. The sheets, towels and rugs are so luscious. It feels like I’m in a high end hotel every day.

Beautiful organic cotton sheets and a good value, I found the company through Apartment Therapy. I ordered the sateen sheets, they are a lovely color, soft and to me very luxurious.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY

Not only did I wait over 2 weeks to get my order delivered (within the US) but when the order arrived, 3 of the towels were black with dirt. The package wasn't open, so I can only imagine they were sent to me like this as everything was crammed into the bag haphazardly.

To make matters worse, they had only sent me half of my order, oddly the shipping slip that was inserted into the package was also a different order to that which I bought...

The night I got my package I immediately emailed the customer care team. It took 3 days for someone to get back to me telling me to request a refund. I emailed them back wanting a confirmation that I would get a refund for the WHOLE order and not just the partial one I was shipped. Days have passed and no one has replied to me, I'm now sitting on the phone waiting for someone to pick up...

This whole ordeal was so unnecessarily stressful especially as I am pregnant and just moved into a new place (still with no towels!). I would suggest buying elsewhere as this company definitely doesn't have their stuff together.

If I could rate this company less than one star I would. I totally understand supply chain issues. I placed an order on 6/10 and received an email on the 11th stating there would be a slight delay....here is 10% off your next order. Charged my card same day as purchase. Here it is 6/29 and no shipment. However, I have been slammed with advertising encouraging me to order some more stuff they would likely not ship. Each time I received another ad I got more and more angry that they have not shipped my first order. Cancelled the order...they could have cared less. I am certain it will take far longer to return my funds than it did to take them......steer clear of this company.....SCAM?
