Well-equipped, clean gym. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The class schedule is good, but often there are substitute teachers and replaced classes, which are never indicated, and a few of the bikes in the spin studio really need replace.

Great selection of equipment, friendly staff, clean changing rooms.

I cancelled my membership, now I owe them 82 pound some how, they need to sort out their cancellation policy.

I stop using the Gym since April 2018 due to relocation , I never got around to cancel my membership. £15.99 was taken out of my account for many Many Months and I never had chance to cancel my DD either

I emailed them requesting to freeze or cancel my Membership in Aug 2018. I never received any email.

In March 2019 i decided to cancel my DD , I had an email from Harlands demanding for payment + additional Charges (£25.00) for writing to me.

I have spoken to the Branch , They told me that an email was sent out in Aug 2018 asking me to cancel from the TruGym web site which I never received , might have gone to Junk Mail .

Then I have requested to cancel in March 2019 , now they demanding Payment of £79.98 and threatening to take me to court or Black list my Credit score .

I have only used 1 or 2 months out 10 months payment .
I have explained to them I have moved area and impossible to use the Gym

No one seems to take notice, All they want is payment and i was told that I signed 12 months contract and they demanding 12 months payments

I wish I have done bit of research about this Flesh eating Wolfs who cares about nothing but money

People like this don't care other than how much money they make .

There is no social care or humanity with this organisation .

Please stay away from these Trugym at all cost .

I have requested kindly to speak to the management explaining my situation that i have moved area and I can't continue with my membership and also i have paid 10 months membership without using their service but as of yet to date i have not heard nothing other than demanding for payments.

I came to the gym yesterday in the evening and I asked about the timetable and the classes as I am new to the gym. The English lady with dark long hair, who I was told is the manager there, I found her quite abrupt and rude towards me. Very unprofessional!

I have been going to truGym stevenage for over a month and I find the staff very helpful especially Lewis Marshall

Bromley Tru Gym

Pro's - Great Gym, great atmosphere, great staff

Con's - Cancellation period - Bullying tactics.

I signed up to Tru Gym for £10.99 a month on a 0 commitment contract. I trained here for between 6-12 months, there were great weights, great atmosphere, great people - It was a real pleasure to train here.

I moved area's and didn't cancel the membership as it was only £10.99 a month and I thought if i want to go back as its near my dads house, it is only up the road.

2 years later I'm relocating country and see a direct debit for £22.99 from a Harlands coming out of my account. I didn't recognize this as it didn't link to any of my known DD's so i cancelled it.

The people who live at my previous address in London give me a call regarding a letter which they opened on my behalf. They advised me that it stated, because I cancelled my DD in November, I now owe them £230?!

I advised them that £10.99 x 4 (November - Feb) = £43.96, it's a monthly membership with 0 commitment, no one tried to contact me to notify me of missing payments of this yet they have all of my details, Instead i'm being hit by a debt collection letter from CRS.

After numerous attempts to speak to to Trugym with no call back or success I get CRS using their bullying tactics on the phone. The agent "Michael Dunne - from CRS / Harlands Group" - attitude was disgraceful. I advised him that my payment was £10.99 and he said no it wasn't, prove it. (I advise everyone to download the free call recorder app - Call Recorder Pro). I have all of the calls recorded.

I decide to look into my account to send him a screenshot and see that Tru Gym who take money out of my account from Harland increased the monthly amount without notifying me by any means from £10.99 to £23.99. There is no contract in place, they can't prove or send me on.

I send Michael an email back to his email " **** at creditresolution.co.uk" and get a return email from ***** aat harlandsgroup.co.uk". I then realise that the company taking the payment from me is the same as the debt collection agency...

I send this email in and get a response saying " Thank you for your email in regards to your account.

This is the first time that you have advised us that the cost of the membership has gone up.

I will go back to the gym for them to verify on why the payments have gone from £10.99 to £22.99.

Once we have a response from them then we will come back to you."

Surely they should know how much I was paying if they are chasing me for money?

Anyhow, moving forward, I'm taking legal action out on TruGym for non-notification of an increased gym membership and a fee for the time i've taken out of my diary to resolve this which will be shown as an Admin fee.

TruGym, Harlands, Michael Dunne - from CRS / Harlands Group you are an a disgrace. A disgusting company who treats people unfairly. I understand why you were on WatchDog.

TruGym Stevenage. If you are looking for fluffy towels and a 5 star experience this is not your place.

If however, you are looking for somewhere open early to late that has a lot of gym equipment, classes, spin and friendly staff for less than £5 a week then this is your place.

The only minus for me personally is that they close at 8pm at the weekends. Please consider an 11pm closing time in line with Monday-Friday or a 24/7 access with swipe cards for members.

Be vigilant about their policies. Don't trust the staff at face value. One good search would have warned me but I was dazzled by the google and facebook reviews. Harlands (the company that takes care of their billings) have been on watchdog for another gym for cancellation dodging at all costs. Was mis-sold a deal by staff which they say is my own fault for believing what a representative said to me. and when I talked to Harlands and the branch, was treated with a rude, defensive manner. Very shocking, and it looks like I'm one of many many cases. DEFINITELY AVOID TruGym and Harlands

Total rip off merchants:

Their staff member Eve told me all I had to do was cancel my D/D when I wanted to leave, which I did and then they chased me for money and wouldn't respond to any of my emails or cancel my membership. I have asked Harlands 4 times to show me the membership agreement with the terms and conditions on that I signed but still no response (because there isn't one) Three months later I get a bill from a collections agency for £210.00 which they will never get.

Dated cancellation policies. Cancelled my membership and was informed I would be paying for the next 7 weeks after moving away. I originally tried to cancel at the gym, at a time when I wouldn't have had to face these charges, but they informed me I would have to do it online.

Easily solved issue at their end, but clear example of profiteering.

Great gym, Centre of Bromley and easy for me to get to.There is free parking right out side after 6:30 which is perfect for me as i go after work. TruGym is filled with good equipment and friendly staff. Ash showed me around when i started and explained each machine and how it would benefit me, he is always willing to give a good service and always rises the spirits when i feel like im about to give up! The changing rooms are filled with lockers and very clean - there is a cleaner in there every night i go in.

Bromley trugym Avoid like the plague had an issue with a member of staff by the name of Ash regarding the punch bag, he put a a false statement to head office stating that I was punching the bag with my bare hands which was a blatant lie, when in fact i had struck the bag with a ridge hand strike, when I confronted him and asked why he lied he stood in front of me in an aggressive manner like a thug, to try and intimidate me and stated that he had two Witnesses which were two members of staff, I asked one of the members of staff and he told me that he was not even there so he never saw anything, all this was said and done in front of his manager, its bad enough when a member of staff is willing to lie to there own employers and give a false statement but to then try and implement other members of staff in his lie is a dame disgrace and affects the integrity of the other staff and the gym as a whole, it is a shame but maybe head office should be reading these reviews and getting rid of the bad rubbish before the smell gets to bad and more business is lost.

I have been coming to the gym for at least 6 years and never had a problem with the staff until now and now I have decided to leave and find another gym as the atmosphere is not a good one, gladly I have found a little gem of a gym which is just up the road by the name of energie fitness Bromley, the staff are excellent and the atmosphere is very relaxed, I went for a free introduction and made inquiries speaking to other members and getting there feedback about energie fitness and everyone I spoke to only had positive things to say about the gym, they may not have as much equipment as trugym but equipment is not what makes a gym, what makes a gym is atmosphere, clean facilities and friendly staff and then equipment,
Face it any bloody fool with money can put gym equipment in somewhere but that does not make it a nice and safe place to train.

Helped themselves to £42.99 from my bank account - even tho I did not complete the online registration! I Have spoken to my local gym in Bromley but they simply say it's not there problem and I should contact head office - 4 emails later and still no reply from head office. I am having to speak to my bank to reclaim the money as it was taken without my permission.

Absolutely Disgusting service 😡 their staff misdirecte you and then they go and say we didn’t say anything, ridiculous service also very rude . Not helpful at all. Honestly I advise anyone not to got to this garbage gym as they just want to ripe you off.

I bought a membership 4 years ago. My contract expired and I cancelled my membership. This year I registered again with a different email address. Once they couldn’t take a payment and they kept emailing me to the email address with what I registered first, therefore I didn’t see them and they kept charging me. Now they demanding me aggressively to pay £225 bc of THEIR mistake.
Anyway, the gym dirty, the showers smell sickening, the cleaners are rude AF and the machines are broken. Waste of money.

Avoid - I signed up to this gym for the Stevenage branch but had to cancel my membership due to health issues.
I did everything that they asked me to but they still ignored my request to withdraw and kept bombarding me with emails for payments

Worst gym ever - poor customer service

Anybody who is looking to join a cheap gym AVOID TRUGYM.
I have been a member of this gym for about 5 years and rarely used it as I train elsewhere mostly. The gym itself is great value for money and I don't actually have a problem with the gym or the staff. The trouble is they use crooks to process their member's payments. I cancelled my membership 2 months ago due to not using the Gym but their agents, Harlands, attempted to continue taking payments and send very aggressive letters by email demanding payment plus large add-on charges. They DO NOT reply to any emails or answer their phone number but they write to you weekly claiming that you haven't replied to their previous letter and they add MORE charges and threaten legal action. This company (Harlands) has been on watchdog for their immoral, and illegal practice, but they still try and extort money they are not entitled to by intimidation. Unfortunately, altough I think the Gym itself is ok, I would advise everyone to avoid signing up with them due to their payment company.

Informed them that I was moving house and therefore cancelling my membership. They are now pursuing me for £234 claiming I never cancelled. Find another gym do not get involved with them.
