Thrifty Car Rental Arvostelua 

It was an absolute disgusting experience dealing with Thrifty Car Rentals at Fremantle in Western Australia. We hired a car only for a day as our personal car was given for major service. We used the rental car (03/01/19) only to drop and pick up our personal car..which meant we did not travel much. Moreover we did not have to use the rental car for the whole day and returned it once we had our own car ready for pick up.

But what transpired in the few hours of our car rental has taught us many lessons about how a business like Thrifty involves in fraudulent behaviour to threaten, intimidate their customers to pay for damages that have never been done.We returned the car around 8PM at night and as their office was closed, we left the keys in the box as advised and made sure to park the car where we could find cameras.We even went to aThai restaurant opposite Thrifty for Dinner while our own car was also parked at Thrifty car park.

Today morning (04/01/19), to our absolute shock and horror...we received an email with around 10 photos stating that the car was found having damage and we need to fill in a form of approval and subsequently pay for damages once the quote is finalised. Given the fact that we are working professionals who value ethics and integrity in life..we gave them a call and informed that we will come on site to discuss the issue. We went to the office to actually know what's this all about and the next half hour that followed was the worst ever customer service we received ....leave alone the arrogance and over smartness of the lady who was dealing with us. I do not wish to mention her name as I wish that if at all if the management of Thrifty reads this review.....proper training will be provided to this lady whom they are aware of about customer service and more importantly on how to speak with people.

Apparently, the 10 photos they sent us were only of 2 things which were captured in multiple angles :-). Out of the two things -- the so called damages ; we were told that one of them is minor and will be excluded ( GOD knows as to how that can be called as damage in the first place and now be retracted altogether). The other one they showed us was underneath the front bumper (only on one side) which they claim we have done it. I tried to politely explain to the lady that was serving us about the whole episode regarding the reason behind our rental and that we used the car only for few hrs .....the immediate response was "I dont care" and then started to "SHOUT" in a very unprofessional and rude manner. At this stage, I had to remind her not to shout and we told her that we were never shown anything during inspection underneath the bumper and we havent done any damage whatsoever as we just had the car in our garage apart from travelling to drop and pick our own car. The lady from Thrifty ( I am not sure if she is the store manager) pretty much gives her own conclusions that she doesnt have to deal with this issue and we would be contacted by insurance dept regarding claim and started to walk off. What this means to us is we will lose our 200$ deposit for no reason along with dealing with unnecssary crap for something which we have never done in the first place. The icing on the cake was that she tells us that there is no camera coverage in the area where we parked though we can visibly see a secuirty camera.

The only consolation was an other customer service team member by name Rhiannon approached us , listened to our side of the story and offered a call from their manager.We are waiting for a call from the manager at this stage but the whole experience has left us devastated looking at the way how customers are being taken for a ride. We have learnt a lesson not to trust Thrifty anymore and may be they should provide Microscope or Binoculars next time for vehicle inspections moving forward as you never know what they will pick on. The irony is we were not even shown that part of the car during inspection and we feel that they are scamming both customers as well as insurance companies to pay for damages illegally.

I highly recommend Thrifty blue chip for business rentals, We use rental vehicles alot for our Business and until thrifty had no preferred company, best price and vehicle availability dictated the decision as they are all pretty much the same to us.
Until we used thrifty the benefits to business as a blue chip member exceeded expectations by far the vip treatment given due to membership status left me feeling like a valued client.
