Proceed with caution
I was involved in a legal matter and received a cold call from the executive office director. He informed me that he was looking for inaccuracies in police reports and claimed that I was a perfect candidate for the type of cases he defends. At the time, I assumed he would be the attorney representing me. However, after signing the representation agreement, I discovered that he was actually the office manager.
The only direct conversation I had with the actual attorney was an impromptu 8-minute call just three days before my court case. During that conversation, the attorney seemed confused about the charges against me. He never shared the discovery materials with me nor consulted me on his legal strategy. It became clear that this law office had no intention of doing more than the bare minimum to defend me.
Shockingly, the attorney never even asked how I wanted to plead! This experience made it evident that with this law office, you get what you pay for: a low-priced attorney often means low effort in defending your case.
