The Lazy Dog Inn is a fantastic place to stay, the hosts are very welcoming. We had a great time and the food is delicious!

Amazing people are welcoming you in this beautiful mountain retreat with lots of possibilities for outdoor activities. It is a really personal and familiar atmosphere.

The Lazy Dog Inn was the perfect place to relax after our rigorous trek. Gina and Diana are wonderful hosts, the food was fantastic and the sauna was a great bonus. I loved sitting in front of the fireplace exchanging travel stories with the other guests.

An overall exceptional experience. The location is great with an amazing view over the mountains. The cabins are very comfortable.
I have no words to describe the food... Marvelous.

Lazy Dog is a gem! Its more beautiful than pictures can show with a lovely lodge and cabins surrounded by pasture, gardens and the surrounding snowy peaks. Its an excellent location for accessing local hikes or bike rides, and the owners and staff there (Diana, Wayne and Gina) are a wealth of information on the local area and culture. Yovanna is a great chef, the food was good!
My kids enjoyed playing outside and we all enjoyed the sauna.
We had hoped for a cabin but it wasn't available, but it ends up staying in the lodge suite was perfect for our family of 4- it was a large room with private access and very quiet; the thick adobe walls insulate the sound really well. It was nice to go to sleep to the sounds of the fire in our room.
We were there for a night for a birthday surprise, and I have plans to go again in a few weeks with a friend who is a horsewoman and go for a ride with Wayne. (another service offered at the Inn).
One other thing, Lazy Dog has an impressive commitment to sustainability and the local community...one more reason to stay there. From the construction of the buildings, to the toilets, to the gardens..they have been deliberate in minimizing their impact and involving the neighbors and community in the Inn.

La situation du lazy dog inn permet de pouvoir faire pas mal de randonnées dans les montagnes avoisinnantes puisque l'hotel se trouve en bordure du parc naturel Huascaran.

Such a great Place!! So nice and friendly

We spent one night, two full days at the Lazy Dog Inn and it was nowhere near enough! At the foot of some of the best hiking trails in the Cordillera Blanca, the property is the perfect jumping point for adventures, or, simply relaxing in outdoor beauty. The facilities were immaculate and comfortable., and the sauna was the perfect way to relax those tired muscles. But that is just the start of the experience; the Lazy Dog team goes above and beyond to welcome you into their home and providing the utmost cultural connection to Peru and the beautiful people who live there. Each dinner and breakfast were lovingly handmade, and were some of the best food we have had on our trip to Peru. Cannot say enough good things about the team and the facilities. Will stay there again and again.

The Lazy Dog Inn is a beautiful little spot to stay for a visit to Huaraz. The views from the property are breathtaking so every morning when you wake up you get to enjoy all the gorgeousness Huaraz has to offer. The rooms are cozy, spacious and romantic, especially with a fire lit inside. Each meal was prepared using ingredients from the garden and was hearty and delicious. The staff to care to make sure we adapted easily to the altitude and was very helpful with all the coordinations we had in the area. I especially loved how you could go on incredible hikes right from the front door and we had the most enjoyable horseback tour from the hotel owner herself, Diana. She really took care to help the horses feel comfortable with us and viceversa before we got started which I really appreciated. I would not consider staying anywhere else!

We have been traveling 5 weeks in Peru! Definitely one of the greatest experience for us!

Wow wow wow! This place is absolutely amazing! We stayed for 5 days but we wish we had more time! Rooms are very confortables and the hosts are incredibles. We were able to do an early check-in and a late check-out without any additionnal fees. Location is perfect if you want to hike, there is a lot of possibilities. About the food ... each night includes an awesome dinner meal, it was the best food we have eaten in Perou (every ingredients are fresh from the greenhouse!). There is also a wooden sauna, which is very appreciated after an 8h hike! If we ever come back to Huaraz, we will for sure come back. Thanks again Diana and Gina!

Lazy Dog Inn is in a really incredible location, surrounded by mountains and with great hiking and horse-riding trails nearby. The food is fresh, locally sourced (a lot of it from their own garden!) and so delicious, to set you up for, or help you recover from, a hard day in the mountains. The rooms are super cosy yet spacious and beautifully decorated. The owners/staff are happy to help you plan your days and can help arrange transport, as well as yummy packed lunches for hikes further afield.

What to say rather than excellent? :) Unique place. Being close to the mountains in a comfortable setting is impossible. And their couches after a long hike: so rewarding. With a glass of wine, good company, locally grown, delicious food and the warmth of the fireplace... Unforgettable!

I've known the Lazy Dog Inn since its beginning and being a sustainable tourism specialist I still use it in my classes as a world-class example of how sustainable tourism should be done. It's almost perfect in almost every angle!! It's comfort level is just great, it's great value, the location is fantastic and in terms of sustainability it really can't get much better: on environmental, social, cultural and economic level. Every time I go I just get this incredible peace of mind, enjoying the surroundings either actively or in a relaxed way. And eating soooo well every day. It really deserves the full five stars. Don't miss it.
