Ik was gedurende een week met een groepsreis van Anders Reizen in de Picos de Europa onder de deskundige leiding van een zeer ervaren gids, Ignacio Teres. Ignacio kent het gebied op zijn duimpje en wist me te boeien met de geschiedenis en de evolutie van deze streek. Ook bij onvoorziene omstandigheden zoals de kniehoge sneeuw ( half mei) de eerste dag, loodste hij ons op een zeer veilige manier naar de berghut boven. Hij gaf ons telkens voldoende informatie over de routes en overlegt de verschillende mogelijkheden van het programma indien dit, bv. door de weersomstandigheden, opnieuw bekeken moet worden. Hij schat, zowel het terrein als de groep heel snel goed in. Hij blijft onder alle omstandigheden heel rustig, wekt onmiddellijk alle vertrouwen, heeft veel zin voor humor en verrastte ons ook vaak met zijn kennis, vooral de vele grappige uitdrukkingen in onze taal, het Nederlands! Samen met Luis zorgde hij ook voor de goede organisatie van de verschillende transfers.
Ignacio is een topgids! Hij heeft me gedurende die week, de liefde voor deze prachtige bergstreek kunnen doorgeven. Ook de wandeling aan de kust de laatste dag is een goede afsluiter om de weg naar de vlieghaven de volgende dag beter te kunnen verteren. Deze reisstijl in groep kon me echt bekoren en maakte me ook benieuwd naar de andere activiteiten van The eye is delighted!

Een week in de Picos de Europa met Anders Reizen, onder leiding van Ignacio, heeft de batterijen weer helemaal opgeladen.

Wat een prachtige streek! Adembenemende natuur, indrukwekkende berglandschappen en grillige rotsformaties. We maakten alle seizoenen mee: van sneeuw op de hoogste punten tot zomerse temperaturen van 30 graden.

Ik heb enorm genoten van de omgeving, het fijne gezelschap en de deskundige begeleiding van Ignacio en zijn kompaan Louis. Hun enthousiasme en kennis maakten de reis extra bijzonder.

Ik kijk nu al uit naar een volgende bestemming in Spanje. Een absolute aanrader!

Een wandelweek in natuurpark "Picos de Europa". Mooie dagtochten met schitterende uitzichten. Variërende wandelpaden. Alles onder de perfecte begeleiding van Ignacio. Een zeer geslaagde vakantie.

Ignacio showed us the wonderful Matarranya region with great knowledge. He adapted walking pace perfectly to that of the group and was very helpul. Simple, but good accomodation, great food.

Cuando tras unos días de vuelta de Cabo de Gata, todavía tienes el poso del viaje es indicador del buen hacer de Ignacio, no sólo en los caminos, donde ha estado muy atento a las necesidades puntuales de cada caminante, sino también en la elección de los alojamientos y todos los detalles que hacen que sea una experiencia única, Ignacio transmite confianza, seguridad y una gran humanidad. En definitiva es una gran experiencia.

He pasado esta semana de noviembre recorriendo el paisaje desértico, volcánico, de calas preciosas, rocas de merengue y lava negra y pueblos blanquísimos; junto con muy buenos compañeros de ruta y la inestimable asistencia de Ignacio (Chuse), que lo hace todo más fácil, siempre atento a todo, tranquilo, paciente, amable y estupendo organizador. Noviembre nunca me gustó, pero a partir de hora, noviembre ya no es niebla y frío sino mar, espuma, la luz del Mediterráneo y calor humano. Gracias por tan maravillosa experiencia. Deseando recorrer nuevos caminos con Ignacio y The Eye is Delighted. Highly recomended, indeed.

Het Spaanse Lapland, desolaat en stil, gastvrij en mooie natuur. Gevarieerde wandelingen, authentieke verblijven en lekker eten en op de koop toe een vriendelijke gids. Wat wil je nog meer? Met veel energie teruggekomen van een groepsreis van 1 week met Ignacio :-)

Just back home from a great hiking trip in the natural parc Cabo the Gata. Excellent organisation by Ignatio. Scenery, hotels, food, company and guidance were all flawless and fantastic. Highly recommended !

Det blev en mycket fin vandring mellan Morella och Beceit under 6 dgr genom en kombination av ffa en fantastisk guide, tack Ignacio, fin natur, bra väder (lätt regn under någon timme av vandringen), bra grupp och god mat/vin på kvällarna. Lunchpaketet klagar jag inte heller på och så fungerade logistiken imponerande bra. Därav det goda betyget.

Ignacio from 'The Eye is Delighted' has composed, and refined over many years, a great hiking week in Els Ports - his home region he's so familiar with. The trip offers just the perfect level of a challenge, and takes you to fantastic views of vary varied scenery - and with no other travelers whatsoever along the route to spoil your pictures :) Whenever Ignacio suggests a small extra extension/detour to the regular route, don't miss it - you'll be rewarded. Ik was met Ignacio en een groep Belgen van Anders reizen in Matarranya. Het was boven verwachting. Het is een prachtig en rustig gebied met deels verlaten dorpjes. De wandelingen waren heel divers, soms pittige klimmetjes, soms eenvoudige karresporen. Ignacio is een super gids. Ik heb al veel gewandeld in de bergen, alleen of met een groep, maar hij is echt bijzonder. De organisatie is perfect, hij geeft veel achtergrondinformatie over het gebied en de natuur, maakt grapjes en is ook nog eens echt deel van de groep.
Daarnaast is Ignacio ook reisagent van de wandelreis die ik in mijn eentje daarna ondernam in de Maestrazgo (Ruta de Silencia) Ook hier was alles perfect georganiseerd, transfers goed geregeld, unieke overnachtingsplaatsen, mooi en nog stiller gebied dan Matarranya dat al rustig is. Ignacio gaf me vantevoren nog waardevolle tips voor de de route. Informeerde via Whats app of alles goed ging en als ik een vraag had kon ik die ook via Whats app aan hem stellen.
In Nederland zeggen ze : een 10 met een griffel! Beter kan niet.

Gracias Ignacio..esto ha sido una experiencia vital.. iba con temor de no dar la talla..pero lo haces tan fácil..además consigues que todos vayamos a una,,algo impensable cuando nos amenaza la duda..(me refiero a nuestra ignorancia sobre el terreno)...de no ser por tí,yo al menos no lo hubiera conseguido..

Last week I, together with my friends, went for a hiking holiday to Picos de Europa, organized by local guide, Ignacio from The Eye is Delighted. It was a fantastic experience, with really amazing and challenging hikes. Ignacio, together with his side-kick Luis, were both very helpfull, flexible and gave lots of information. Also as a person, they were warm, open, agreeable and had a nice sense of humor. I am very glad to have done this trip with them. Thank you, Ignacio for this unforgettable journi.

Ignasio werpt een scherpe blik op momenten die hij heel snel vastlegt in een mooi resultaat. Een seconde in de tijd, maar een herinnering voor lang.

I joined a group of Belgians on my first hiking trip in Spain. The trip itself was labeled "Matarranya" by the reseller where I booked, but is called "the three kingdoms trail" on the website of The Eye is Delighted.

GUIDE:
Although I've been on quite a few group hikes, this was the first one with a local guide. Throughout the trip, Ignacio was an endless source of information on geology, nature and the history of the area and its inhabitants. He has a very relaxed way of leading, becoming part of the group, kindly nudging us in the right direction. Knowing the area well, he can improvise, allowing the group to split up either to take a shortcut or a walk a bit extra when it's safe to do so. Arriving in Morella, both in the last evening and the return day, he organized a few extra culinary events at local restaurants and guided us through town in time that otherwise would have been waisted waiting at the airport. Even long after the trip ended, he still interacted with us via the WhatApp groupchat. I will gladly travel with him again on a future trip.

AREA:
Although it was quite hot for the time of year (reaching up to 35 degrees Celcius), it's not a difficult hike and there's plenty time each day, so you can go slower if needed. Normally I tend to walk quite fast, but here, even on the cooler days, I found myself slowing down to absorb the beautiful landscape and the old and often deserted buildings found in unlikely places (look inside and be surprised!). Go too fast and you miss the gems that are not in plain sight. The mix of nature and historic villages make for great photo opportunities. Apart from locals, we hardly encountered any other people until we reached Morella, which is brimming with activity and you need at least a day to see its highlights.

Matarranya, een tocht door 3 koninkrijken is één van mijn mooiste vakanties: prachtige landschappen om van stil te worden, uitdagende tochten bij een uitzonderlijk warme oktoberzon, tof gezelschap en de uitstekende begeleiding van Ignacio.
Op een ontspannen en deskundige manier leidde Ignacio ons doorheen een authentiek stukje Spanje, ver weg van de Costa's en gaf ons uitleg over de natuur, de omgeving en haar geschiedenis.
Ieder van ons heeft momenten beleefd om nooit te vergeten. Het smaakt naar meer.

El viaje estaba muy bien organizado de principio a fin y, aunque los recorridos eran exigentes y han supuesto para mi un gran reto, la belleza de los paisajes, la camaradería y buen rollo del grupo y la labor de nuestro guía, Ignacio, han hecho de este viaje una experiencia inolvidable.

Ignacio no sólo es un guía con un profundo conocimiento de la geografía de la zona, además es un persona muy cercana y generosa. Con su buen hacer hace que te sientas cómoda con un grupo de casi desconocidos. Excelente profesional, pendiente de que cada uno de nosotros disfrutemos, nos empapemos de la naturaleza y de la grandiosidad de los Pirineos. Espero algún día volver a repetir experiencia y coincidir con los compañeros de viaje tan buenos que he tenido la suerte de conocer. 100% Recomendable. Adela Chaves
