The Carter Company Arvostelua 

I never write reviews, but I had to this time. We just came back from a trip to the Lake District. My husband and I had the best time. Seriously, our best vacation ever. The Carter Company was lovely to work with. As a professional admin myself, I was delighted with their thoughtful touches – booking taxis to and from hotels with separate luggage pick-up, providing a battery pack for our phone, giving us old school maps in addition to the app (my husband was thrilled), making sure the app was in miles, meeting us on site before the start of our trip, and so many other things. They even helped book a hotel and train tickets to and from Glasgow, our first stop that was not included in the Lake District package. They were communicative throughout our trip but also let us just enjoy ourselves. We plan to go on another trip and will use the Carter Company!

My husband and I had a wonderful cycling holiday in Provence, starting in Avignon and finishing in Saintes Maries de la Mer in the Camargue, with its fabulous wildlife (we saw eagles, flamingos, many other species of bird, my first ever wild beaver sunning itself on the river bank, red squirrels, coypu and the famous Camargue white horses and bulls). The organisation was faultless, from pre-departure information to airport pick up & drop off and our luggage moving between the most gorgeous hotels. The bikes & kit were super (I rode an e-bike whilst my husband rented a hybrid), and the daily routes, which we had downloaded in advance, took us mainly on very quiet country lanes, avoiding traffic. On the few occasions we did venture onto slightly more main roads on the outskirts of towns, they were still noticeably quieter than in the U.K. and almost all had well set out cycle lanes. Traffic in France seems well used to cyclists and everyone gave us plenty of room.
We cycled through some really interesting places, rich in history & picturesque, and our accommodation was really well chosen, and there was always a swimming pool to cool off in when we arrived after a day cycling in the sunshine.
I would thoroughly recommend to anyone thinking about a cycling break.

We did a self-directed cycling holiday in the Netherlands. The routes were really great - showcasing the best of the Dutch countryside and taking us off the beaten track time and time again in the most delightful way. Uploading the routes to RideGPS makes navigation very easy. Absolutely no complaints about anything at all to do with the cycling - the handovers with Tulip Cycling were very smooth and pleasant, and the bikes and other equipment were all very good. The quality of the hotels, however, was another matter and varied by an excessive amount. A couple were excellent, others very mediocre, and two of them frankly appalling (scruffy common areas, pokey, tired rooms and some disturbing stains on the mattress). The overall cost of the trip wasn't cheap and for us did not provide good value. In addition, despite sending respectful and balanced feedback to the Carter Company we have heard nothing from them which is very poor show. We wouldn't recommend or travel with them again.

We have just returned from a most enjoyable trip to the Austrian Lakes organized by the Carter company .

Their local contact, Heinz was superbly organized and provided great support to us in setting up the various taxi luggage pickup locations along with the provision of two excellent Cube e-bikes. The ride with GPS app worked very well, the hotel selections were excellent and the daily distances were certainly quite manageable, apart from our final push back to Salzburg in quite heavy rain, however, upon arrival, a few beers and a wiener schnitzel certainly revived our enthusiasm!

We had a terrific trip Dawdling in the Dordogne. The hotels, meals and all logistics worked out great. All of the taxi connections were bang on time and the app was a game changer in allowing us to focus on the walking and not worry about missing turns along the way! I couldn't fault Carter Company for their preparation, pre-trip communication and overall delivery.

I loved every minute of our trip. The hotel in Lenno was perfectly chosen and we enjoyed phenomenal views of the lake during every walk. Going in May gave us an extra advantage as the gardens were in full bloom, it was just gorgeous. The information pack was also very clear and worry free.

Our entire tour was so well organized. We loved the accommodations they chose. Perfectly executed from start to finish. Can't wait to use them again in the future!

We completed a walk along the Suffolk Coast Path April 7-15 from Woodbridge to Southwold. From the initial inquiry with the Carter Company to our very last step in Souhtwold our trip was amazing.
Communication was very helpful and our inquiries were always answered in a very timely fashion.
We will definitely use the Carter Company for another walking trip. We decided to include extra days so that we could explore the areas as this part of England was new to us.
The accommodations provided were outstanding, perfectly located. Breakfast each morning cooked to order. The staff at each place were friendly and more than helpful. Our taxi rides to the drop off spots for the walks were on time and each driver provided helpful information about the area.
The paths were in good condition and well marked. We met with Rita before our trip began and she was encouraging and clearly familiar with the area and walks. Although we were provided with all the GPS information and tools necessary, we relied on OS maps because my husband loves to navigate that way. We did use Ride with GPS on one walk; it is very useful application.
Totally impressed with our experience. Not one rainy day so that added to our comfort level.
