These knives are FAKE and sent directly from China. They came in a damaged box and the handle has horrible marks on them that won’t come off and even though they are a set the handles are completely different, they are cheap and nasty. They advertise these knives as genuine Japanese 67-layered Damascus knives. They are not!! These are single layered steel knives with the markings stamped/etched on them!
There are some very obvious ways to tell they are fake.
A genuine Damascus knife has a continuity of the pattern (layers) from the Bolster to the tip of the knife as well as along the top of the knife. Another way is to do an acid test. You polish a small part of the blade down until the pattern disappears then soak it in an acid solution, the pattern should re-appear if it is genuine.
These knives don’t re-appear and the pattern is absolutely etched on. If you also do an image search of these knives you will find countless businesses selling them, the only difference is they each ask the Chinese manufacturer to stamp their logo on to the knives! You can also buy them for as little as $12. Ted Zukuri are Scammers and when confronted their only response was “I’m sorry they didn’t meet your expectations” and told me I had to pay to return them even they sold these under false pretences. They didn’t deny that they were fake! They need to be held accountable for their straight up lies. It’s not like they were cheap either. They are making a killing off of their scam.
