I underwent facial feminsation surgery…
I underwent facial feminsation surgery with Surgero and Dr Beşir Öner which consisted of the following 9 operations;
•Rhinoplasty
•Endoscopic temp[oral lift
•Blepharoplasty
•Chin reduction
•Tracheal shave
•Lip lift
•Forehead reduction
•Fat injection to lips
•Fat injection to under eye area
TL;DR, the service was incredible, from the clinics management of myself and my expectations to the work performed by Beşir.
I found Surgero via what.clinic and contacted them alongside other clinics. As they're a relatively new company, my initial impression based off the website wasn't too impressive compared to facial team and some others, however I was blown away by their professionalism and service in due course. And after beng shown their new website in making, it will outdo other companies.
Erdem (The CEO) contacted me via whatsapp in a competent and prompt manner. From the get go he made me feel welcome and in charge of what was going on (compared to some other clinics which were pushy / dismissive of my wants). For example, I wanted no fillers and all ops in one go, some clinics had issue with this. Being contacted so hastily felt weird at first coming from the UK with very long waiting times but over a short period of time, Erdem built rapport with me and I felt like I could ask him any question and receive a trust worthy answer.
Once i decided I would book with them, the information sent to me was fantastic. From timetable sheets, offer letters, communications to my university for mitigating circumstances, and phrase translation sheets. The clinic was always there to help, regardless of the time. The service they offered here stood out from the other clinics by a LONG margin. I then had my initial (first of three) consultation via video call with both the CEO and my surgeon. I felt like I could ask any question I needed and when I asked Bestir some difficult questions, he answered firmly and confidently.
When I had arrived in turkey, Surgero had arranged my transport to the hotel (which i stayed in for a few days before surgery due to off flight times which was easy and no stress to sort out via surgero. Erdem met me at the hotel for a quick hi which helped ease any concern I had about being in another country without a representative. The next day, Zuhal from Surgero took me and my girlfriend out fort a tour which was super lovely, she was easy to get on with, interesting, informed and funny.
On the day of the surgery, I was transferred to the hospital and met Erdem who took me through some paperwork. Then I was handed over to the Turkish hospital staff. Most of them spoke some broken english but I never felt like I wasn't being cared for despite the language barrier at this point.
I suffered from anesthesia sickness pretty bad but my partner spoke about how often the clinic were around / available to be spoken to. After a couple of days I was met by Zuhal once more, and she helped us get back to the hotel via a transfer and to get any further medications required.
Over the next few days I stayed in the lovely hotel, ate their good breakfast and slowly ventured outside a bit more day by day. Throughout Surgero were communicated and checking in with me. I had two in clinic meets to remove bandages / staples to which Bestir was brilliant, both in medical expertise and making me feel at ease.
The only issue I experienced was a money transfer issue which was no fault of Surgeros but my banks. Advice here would to be ensure all funds are transferred prior to flying out. Having said that, Erdem was there for me throughout this stressful occurrence, and guided me through my options and advised on best course of action.
These surgeries have already changed my life for the better, I no longer see the masculine triggers that i did prior and it's only been a short period of time.
In addition to the above, they were roughly a 1/3 of the price of Uk clinics and well know for FFS Spanish clinics. If I could give a higher rating I would. Thoroughly recommend Surgery for any surgery, gender-affirming or not.
