Nathan was very communicative and made an effort to understand what I was looking for in a job, and to sell this idea to the company before I started interviewing. He followed up frequently and kept the process moving quickly. It was actually less than two weeks between my first interview and the final negotiations. When I did receive an offer, Nathan discussed my expectations thoroughly and helped me construct a counteroffer that the company would consider. In the end i got a great package and a job that is almost perfect for me, in less than two weeks, after four months of trying.

This is yet another recruiter who services first and foremost their corporate clientele, rather than working with candidates or being even remotely interested in an open conversation or even brief “coffee chat”, as a few others are offering nowadays. They ask you to register your interest as a candidate by supplying your CV online. The automated response is “we’ll get back to you as soon as possible”. Needless to say that “as soon as possible” is never. To preclude arguments that my CV is not relevant, I worked for over 10 years on the trading floor in the City, grew budgets and PnL from zero to £25m in two years, set up my own company and exited via successful trade sale and was a CEO in a regulated FinTech, and no, the FinTech did not go bust. What maybe relevant is that I am female and no longer in my thirties, but we won’t say that, will we? One starts questioning whether the countless job postings on their website are actually real or just a means to collect as many CVs as possible.

We were lucky to work with Alexandra McFarland who is absolutely awesome. She was relentless (in a good way) about helping us hire for several engineering positions and would not stop until she got the job done.
