My son’s Xbox HDMI port was broken. I found Rich details and made contact on Saturday. By Monday evening the Xbox was fixed, serviced with help and advice on how to use condensed air to keep pet hairs away.

My sons PS5 stopped working the evening before his birthday. He was gutted. I was recommended to try Richard at Steel City IT so called him and he offered to sort it that day for him. He was able to repair it within a couple of hours and my son was extremely grateful. Would highly recommend.

Richard is really knowledgeable guy and was able to explain the process and a few possible outcomes clearly without using opacic jargon. His quote was accurate and the work was excellent resolving the issue on the first occasion.

Excellent, friendly service. Many thanks, Rich. This should have been a routine procedure, changing a cmos battery, that I would have done myself. However, it turns out that the motherboard is an awful design and the PC had to be taken apart just to change the battery. Rich also cleaned up and repaired a usb port connector on the motherboard that had been damaged. I dropped the PC off in the afternoon and it was repaired and ready for pickup the following afternoon.

Really helpful and quick service, I literally rang up and dropped my son’s Nintendo Switch off the same day to be looked at. Unfortunately the water damage was too much to be fixed but I was talked through what had happened and where the water had got to. He also recommended a cheaper alternative to help me save some money when we buy another Nintendo Switch. Touch wood nothing happens but I would definitely be a returning customer.

Returning customer! This time - following an issue with the charging port of my son’s Nintendo Switch Lite, within 24 hours Richard had sorted the issue and provided a value add service by replacing the joysticks so they were back looking good as new. Fast and efficient and great value for money!

He was really responsive and flexible in drop Off and collection, went above and beyond cleaning out the console as well as repairing the HDMI port and have valuable advice about maintaining the console to prevent further issues. Richard advised me on what type of set up we needed for a good quality gaming pc for my son- something that would be good for a few years in an ever changing tech world. Great pc for an amazing price and advice which was much appreciated.

Called steel city i.t as my gaming laptop was slow though it just wanted some extra memory. Booked in with Richard and he explained what he will be doing. Upon him opening it up he found the the heat paste had dried up and this could be the problem of been slow as not running at optimum speed. He kept me informed on the process and also a speedy turn round. Laptop is working way better now and smoother than before.. 5* service all the way..

The personal touch, soon as I met Richard he made me feel at ease.b he was down to earth but really knows his stuff, chatted through the problem I let him know that I was on a time frame and he excelled my expectations. He got it back to me the next morning considering I dropped it off at 6pm it was fixed by 7am. He only charged me £65. Considering I'd been quoted £150 else where and wait a week I couldn't believe how good and honest Richard is. He's totally trust worthy and I felt comfortable straight away with his service. In this day and age to meet someone honest and that grafts is a rarity. This man is a credit to his profession and makes me proud of northern honesty.
