My experience with Spartan has been…
My experience with Spartan has been extremely frustrating. Their September 25 statement showed an ending balance of $18,575. After two late payments(5 days late and caught up with the payments), my own calculation based on that statement was $16,415. Spartan later sent a screenshot showing $26,827.75, including $9,917.75 in fees.
I dispute the added fees and have requested a complete, updated statement in the same clear format as the September 25 statement, with payment allocations and an itemized explanation of each charge. I still have not received that breakdown. A clear accounting should be straightforward to provide just as they did September 25th but since it’s their main interest of making sure the debt keeps increasing, they will ignore you and through their legal gloves at you and force you to sign a new contract. And if you don’t their ( Erick) response was ,,I’ve explained this several times. Until you sign the new agreement, this is the balance. Regardless of what you agree to or accept”
Based on my experience, business owners should carefully compare financing options and review an MCA’s default provisions, fees, and payment-allocation terms before signing. No matter how desperate your situation find other ways or cut your lost. It’s not worth payment 3x of what you borrowed.
