I felt compelled to leave a review as I took a risk judging by the comments on here when ordering a vinyl from this company. Personally, I had absolutely no issues at all. Arrived promptly, perfect condition, excellent price and updated along the way. Very happy and wanted to get their score back up as I had a hassle-free experience. Thanks!

Beware of this online store i think it is a scam i arranged for delivery for my order and they charged me before i had time to pay for delivery when i went to proceed to make payment with my order

I have waited months to write a review in the hope my book would arrive. I placed an order in the summer and received an empty sealed package- no book. I contacted the shop who were very apologetic and said they would post it out the next day. I have been told that three times now. Still no book. The owner is very pleasant with emails but I am wondering if they ever had the book I asked for? Disappointed

Great store, got a book I have struggled to find and several others for Christmas presents. Ordered last Thursday and arrived today (Tuesday), and given I live in Northern Ireland that is really good service. Prices were phenomenal also.

Not happy with today's delivery - package was left half in, half out of letterbox, signalling to any passer-by that householder was not at home. A pity because the item arrived on time and was fairly priced, and I have used Smeikal before with no problem.

Ordered 3 books but only 2 arrived, tried to email to ask as to why but no response??

I shop from several different online bookshops, but Smeikalbooks is by far the best value and friendliest bookshop that I've come across, so im always coming back. delivery is always super quick and hassle free, the site is easy to navigate and you can even see how much stock they have of any particular book, if it's running low. I love the range of books available, particularly the sci-fi, and Virago women writers, and there are always great offers and free delivery. On rare occasions when I've had a problem, the staff were quick to get back to me and resolve the issue, in the friendliest manner, definite 5* bookshop.

Had to leave a review as I have seen so many negative ones! Firstly no issue with receiving my books, they came with yodel which was fine by me. They were well packaged and arrived fast. Secondly customer service is great. I emailed to say I ordered a book i already have by mistake and they refunded it no problem! I’d defo order again !

BE WARNED. This company uses Yodel for delivery. Yodel failed to deliver it to me, but say they did. As they didn't, they have no photo proof. They told me to contact Smeikal, who took a long time to get back to me before telling me bluntly that I HAD received it. No proof, but they start from the assumption I'm trying it on? For £8.36? REALLY?

My five book order was quickly “dispatched” (April 8th 2024) according to my emails. However, as of April 18th I have received nothing. Yodel tracking is still showing the parcel with the sender. I have emailed (April 18th) and am waiting for a reply- I will update this accordingly.

Edit on 19/04/24: received a full refund (didn’t offer to resend my order or ask me what I would like to do) and they confirmed via email that it had been dispatched.

Very good value book - it was brand new. Received within a few days via Royal Mail. Will use again.

Really fast delivery within 3 days from order and book is in very good condition.
The packaging was good, but in the future I would love to see a bit more padding.
