Your point about asking in advance is fair. Our process is strongest on the civil route, which is the side you found us up to date on.
When someone wants their will handled inside the Sharia framework, that sits outside what we do, and we should say so at the start and point them to a specialist.
On the timeline, you are right that it takes a while. Some steps run on the registry's own schedule, so we try to make sure you always know where things stand while it moves.

I was a bit skeptical when I initially started the process. I wasn’t sure how an ad I saw on Insta was authentic. So I did a little background check. Once I said YES to Smart Wills and the process commenced, Smart Wills was brilliant. The best decision I made after pondering this decision for years. A process that holds up from the first call to the ADJD appointment is not, and that is the part we care about. You mentioned thinking about this decision for years. Most people do. The steps you listed, the drafting, the corrections, the translation, the submission, are usually the reason it gets postponed. Carrying them for you is the whole point of the service. Thank you, Laurence. The word we would pick out is the one you put first: smooth. A UAE will has more moving parts than most people expect. The drafting with our partner law firm, the certified translation, the submission, then the appointment with the government. None of that should reach you as complexity, and carrying it so it does not is the entire job. You went through the whole process from Qatar, without setting foot in a UAE office. That is what the remote setup is built for, and we are glad it held up from that distance. Thank you for the recommendation.

"Clear and straightforward" is exactly what we work for. A will in the UAE involves choosing between three registries, a certified Arabic translation and a government submission, and nobody should have to figure all of that out alone.
Our job is to carry those steps for you, which is why the whole process typically takes around 3 hours of your time, guided from the first call to the final registration.
One more thing, because it matters: our work does not end at registration.

Stumbled into the need through a video — they handled the rest
I'm an investor and honestly I had no idea a UAE will was something I needed to register until I came across one of SmartWills' videos online. That alone got me curious enough to book a call.
Once we started, the team didn't make me chase anything. When I had specific questions on some of the more complex assets I owned at the time, a vessel among others, they offered to jump on additional video calls beyond what we'd scheduled, just to walk through the implications properly. No hourly fees, no friction. They genuinely went out of their way.
Whole thing was done in a fraction of the time I'd expected. For someone with limited time and assets that don't sit neatly inside a standard template, this is exactly what's needed.

A mirror will for both of us, done together in one process
My husband and I wanted will documents that mirrored each other, whoever survives the other inherits cleanly, and the kids inherit if both of us go. I'd assumed this would mean two separate processes or some kind of premium package. With SmartWills it was a single Protection Assessment for both of us, two parallel will documents prepared at the same time, registered together.
What surprised me was how naturally the specialist navigated the two of us occasionally disagreeing on a clause. They didn't take sides, they presented the consequences of each option until we could decide ourselves. Two coordinated documents, done in a fraction of the time and budget I'd expected.
