In October 2023 my partner and I purchased two very expensive platinum rings from Simon Clarke Jewellery. We reviewed this company prior to using them and when we met Harry we liked him and we liked his story about his father's business.

Initially, all was good - we designed the rings - got CAD drawings and were delighted with the final product.

Eight months later, when a diamond dropped out of one of the rings, Harry was uncontactable. He'd moved premises, didn't answer my calls, emails, texts or What's App messages.

After over two months of numerous unsuccessful attempts to contact Harry, I made arrangements to get the ring repaired at my expense.

We invested a lot of money with Simon Clarke Jewellery so it was extremely disappointing to not receive any communication whatsoever from this company. I gave Harry every opportunity to advise if there were any personal issues but still no response.

In view of my experience I feel it's only right to leave feedback on this company to avoid other clients having to accept zero customer service after a very expensive jewellery purchase.

UPDATE - thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I received no communication about the closure of this company. Simon Clarke Jewellery are still showing active on Companies House and your webpage and Instagram account are also still active - why is this, if the business is closed? I also find it difficult to understand why this information wasn't communicated to me earlier as I've given you every opportunity to message me since June??

Harry provided a fantastic, professional experience throughout the entire process of designing and buying an engagement ring for my partner. In particular, the initial consultation meeting was brilliant - he showed me a range of stones that were suited to my preferences and budget, and I felt that I had lots of time to consider and ask questions, without any pressure. Harry at Simon Clarke Jewellery provided the perfect service for what I wanted. I was eager to create my own design and hand select the diamond but was struggling to find jewellers in the Newcastle area that specifically offered this service.
After contacting Harry he was able to source multiple diamonds that met my specifications in less than 24 hours so we could meet the next day (he was also willing to give recommendations in case you don't know what you're looking for in advance). In my opinion the quality of diamonds he sourced were significantly better than the larger stores I had been looking at and the turnaround time to get them was fantastic.
My consultation with Harry was very relaxed and I was able to openly describe the style I wanted, with Harry providing his expertise as needed. Within 1 week we had CAD renders of the design which perfectly matched my description. However if there had been need for adjustments I know Harry would have been very accommodating with this, so I felt no pressure to proceed with the first design.
Within 5 weeks from our initial meeting I had the ring in my hand and could not have asked for more in terms of the quality, I was absolutely delighted.
Overall this was a really enjoyable experience. I got the exact ring I wanted, meeting quite a demanding timeline and for (in my opinion) a significantly cheaper price than I would have found elsewhere. I have already highly recommended this jewellers to others and would encourage anyone interested in bespoke designs to get in contact with them.

The service I received from Harry was second to none. My original consultation was in person where we discussed what I was thinking for my wedding ring. The ring was designed and changed many times until it was absolutely perfect and Harry was so patient and helpful throughout the whole process. I absolutely love my wedding band and can't wait to get married and wear it! Thank you Harry!

Harry was incredibly helpful when designing my engagement ring and I absolutely love the final result.

I wanted to create something that I would wear out of various items of jewellery that I had inherited and found Harry at Simon Clarke. Harry listened to my ideas overlaid that with his knowledge and experience and produced an initial concept within my budget. We tweaked it a few times until we were both happy with the final version. Having someone like Harry so knowledgeable that you can meet in person to discuss was a joy and I wouldn't have pursued the project if I hadn't been able to do that.
I would definitely recommend Harry to you. He takes care and time to get things just right for you which for me were essential given the values both £'s and sentimental involved.

From the initial contact Harry was very prepared, organised and proactive. Once it was established what I was looking for on my second visit (which wasn't long after my first) he had 4 stones ready for me to view in person so I could make an informed decision. From there it was a very smooth process, i received a very life-like image of my ring to make sure I was happy with it. The ring was made very quickly and was perfect. Harry even made me a laminated note for the box in English and in Arabic for airport security, which was a nice touch that went above and beyond.
