We (our family and friends) have a great time at Galtons Cottage despite it raining from the moment we got there to the moment we left. The facilities and space, as well as the small touches, made it a break to remember with lots of laughter throughout our stay.

The property in which we stayed is delightful, well maintained and has direct access to the New Forest. The staff at Short Stay Homes are helpful, friendly and responsive.

This is an ideal property for a large family gathering. 10 of us (plus a dog!) stayed for 3 nights to celebrate my husband's birthday. The house itself is spacious and really well-equipped, the garden nicely laid out and the location is brilliant. We all went off into Salisbury at different times to shop, walk and visit the cathedral and other lovely buildings. Communication about the property was also excellent. Would highly recommend.

Osmund House was a fantastic place for our get together with old school friends. Spacious, smart and beautifully furnished, both the house and garden gave us everything we could want for our weekend away. The added bonus was being able to walk into Salisbury for shopping, lunch and cocktails. Highly recommend this house for family gatherings or groups of friends.

Very welcoming accommodation with everything you need for a week plus some lovely treats . So close to the river makes night fishing easy ; a fresh cup of tea while you fish . We also made use of the availability of playing at a five star golf course nearby courtesy of short stay homes . I used the cabin and found it very comfortable .

We stayed at Galtons Cottage in Dorset. The whole place was absolutely filthy. We couldn’t use any of the garden furniture as it was covered in algae and bird poo and no hose to wash it off. The garden furniture cushions were in an outside box covered in cobwebs and dirt. BBQ was dirty and games room still had the last visitors empty bottles and glasses in it. Inside the fridge water dispenser was green and cover in limescale. Bathrooms needed cleaning before use. Ovens, kettle, toaster and utensils were dirty. Cobwebs and dirt everywhere. The management have taken no responsibility. Will never use this company again.

Beautiful house that had everything we needed for a family holiday. Great location near to shops, lovely hot tub and well appointed kitchen.

The cottage was perfect for our 40th wedding anniversary family celebration. Lots of space and activities for the children with beautiful woodland walks from the front door.

We had a wonderful family weekend at Mews Hill and Criddlestyle Cottage. The houses are well equipped and comfortble with plenty of space for all of us, including a small child and 3 dogs. It was a delight to be able to walk out into the forest, while being conveniently close to shops and takeaway restaurants.

Fantastic location , fantastic house , fantastic holiday

A great cottage with so many bedrooms that accommodated all the family for a celebratory birthday weekend. There is enough space that you never felt crowded both inside and out.

Lovely location with a great pub two minutes away and a well stocked village shop five minutes away.

The cottage has easy access to walks from the front door.

A great place to stay with easy access to all the New Forest has to offer.

What a fantastic cottage!! It was ideal for a family get together. It was immaculate on arrival, hopefully, we left it in the same state, even though plenty of food was eaten, cooked in the spacious kitchen, plenty of drink was drunk and enjoyed around the massive dining room table. It had a bar in the snug which we used on the first night, but the open plan dining room/kitchen was the hub of our socialising.
Highly recommended for anyone with a big family or going away with friends. The New Forest on the doorstep as is Bournemouth and Poole.

We really enjoyed our stay at riverside lodge in September. We had lovely weather so made the most of having the bifold doors open as much as possible. The surroundings were idyllic, and loved spotting the wildlife. The town was very close with a lovely stream to paddle in and waterside pub that served lovely food. Would recommend.

Criddlestyle Cottage was perfect for our family visit of 6 adults and 4 children under the age of 10. We appreciated the space for parking our cars and the trampoline & jungle gym in the garden.The barbecue was well used and there was space to sit in the garden. The walk down to the river is excellent. We enjoyed the fact that although everything was clean and tidy it was not so immaculate that we had to worry about living in it and enjoying it with the kids.

The house was very clean and comfortable, with plenty of space for our extended family group. The climbing frame and trampoline were particularly appreciated by the children and we all enjoyed the peace and quiet of the location. All in all, it was the perfect venue for our family get-together.

Perfect extended family property and grounds the property was beautifully equipped the bedrooms were excellent, great games room and to top it off the jacuzzi!!

Short Stay Homes were organised, friendly and helpful and we would all do it all over again
