They have pushed me into getting a smart meter
Had no idea the smart meter wasn’t communicating with octopus
They don’t care at all

Beware, I have a leased EV through my company salary sacrifice scheme and when dealing with a simple windscreen replacement, it was a complete and utter DISASTER! Octopus customer service was beyond poor, they were so deliberately difficult that they turned a minor repair into an absolute disaster. I have since read so many other complaints, so beware and avoid at all cost. I am now trying to leave the scheme early, as their complaint procedure is also deliberately set up to make you fail and give up, as it is completely ignored in every way! Avoid Octopus EV scheme at all cost!!! And Octopus should improve their customer service urgently, I’m more than happy to be contacted (would love to help), to explain where they are going so badly wrong.

I moved over to octopus and have had nothing but issues and now apparently there is no signal getting to my meters but my mum who stays across the road has no issues but there an issue in area. Also no communication from octopus unless I have to call up and chase or ask what is going on with my account as they keep changing stuff without consulting me... I wish I had never come back

Swapped in feb to Octapus due to family recommendation and chance of cheaper electric times and applied for smart meters..came and fitted gas ..problem with electric as needs fuse removed ..contacted customer services loads of times always gonna ring me back .(.still waiting) sent same engineer twice even though he had told them he couldnt do it then said I only asked for gas ..so still no offers as need both meters....looking elsewhere ..

Octopus are terrible . They fitted a charger at my neibours property and their engineer reversed into my wall damaging it . No apology and if I had not seen it then him or my neibour ( who also works for octopus ) would have admitted it . The engineer was rude and did not care . Their insurance did pay for wall rebuilt but not for replace if trellis to top nor the plants it destroyed . I had to replace them at my cost . I contacted them for an explanation and as to why the so called manger that failed to turn up to look at this did not arrive and to report the rudeness of their staff . I’m still waiting for a reply from the appropriate department . Needless to say I have also moved my energy supply also from them . I will not support such a poor company

Appalling. Not as advertised. 4 months trying to get smart meter to work then main meter apparently not working still no appointments etc etc.

After previously submitting a review and the issue being resolved to which I was very grateful Octopus have yet again put a late payment marker on my credit despite me paying over the agreed amount, and agreeing to reinstate the direct debit (this was temporarily stopped due to marriage breakdown and separation of finances) now leaving me likely unable to remortgage. Not once have I had any substantial debt with them often times in credit due to how the year works out. When I discussed it with them by email I am getting short and standard replies. I pay monthly and do not pay late the only change has been that the direct debit was due on the 2nd and I paid on the 4th after receiving an email saying I must pay within 5 days of direct debit due. No direct emails or any warning that me changing to Manuel payment risked my excellent payment streak. It has now dropped my credit rating substantially. My remortgage on my home which I am now having to do as a single person is likely not to go through as it dropped my raring so much for one alleged missed payment after a 6 year excellent streak.

Disgusting Customer services!
I confirmed an appointment yesterday (09/04/25) for today to have smart meters installed today (10/4/25), called at 12pm to be told no appointment was made! Wouldn't offer to have someone out to me, I changed my whole work schedule and cancelled important meetings to be here for them and no one was willing to help me or even put me through to a manager!!!
Don't know how they have won awards for such a poor service... going back to my old supplier!!!

Really recommend, Had a problem with a scam supplier trying to gain access and they sorted it straight away! Thank you Octopus and especially Radhika and Saadiqah!

Leider ist diese Firma unseriös nach mehrmaligen Kontakt per Mail und Telefon kommen nur Vertröstungen ich warte auf eine Abschlussrechung. Wird gemacht nach Aussagen per Mail und Telefon aber seit 3 Monaten geht in dieser Firma nichts ausser das Kaffee getrunken wird.
Kann ich gar nicht weiter empfehlen.

I've had issues with a malfunctioning electricity meter for months. I have contacted Octypus multiple times and eventually having been asked to do the same things repeatedly they eventually agreed to replace it. This was months ago and it's still not fixed. Meantime I've received numerous requests for meter readings and inspire of having phoned to explain why I can't give these I've now received a letter saying how essential it is that I provide one. It's extremely frustrating and the service seems very inefficient. I'm really disappointed. We're moving house soon and I'll not renewingwith them.

James Wright has been working for Octopus energy for a while now. He is such a fantastic brand asset! He even takes a giant octopus on his annual skiing holiday and chases it down the hill! That’s awesome brand gold!!!! He regularly talks with our local community about he we can best save energy in such an engaging and honest way, most of us are now with Octopus, or at least definitely know all about them. After twelve months of trying to get a meter sorted, I left EDF for Octopus. I was told I never had a smart meter, and I kept telling them I did have one. In the end, I requested a smart meter. They sent someone out and said to me that I had a smart meter, but they had the wrong serial number, and still, they have not resolved this, so-called UK's most trusted supplier what a joke, I'm now getting in touch with energy ombudsman
