Mixed feelings about SCOTTeVEST and the customer service I received.

Before ordering my Enforcer jacket, I corresponded with customer service to confirm that the jacket would be able to fit my 15" laptop as stated on their website. Two separate customer service reps assured me that "[the] Enforcer Jacket Fits up to 15" Laptop in front chest pockets in all sizes." I happily ordered the jacket and waited anxiously.

Received the Enforcer about a week later and was happy to see the good fit and decent styling. My only issue at that point was the factory chemical smell (as is the case with most new clothes), so I put it through a gentle rinse cycle which helped tremendously. However, when I got to the studio the next day to place my 15" Macbook in the front chest compartment, I found that it did not fit at all in any pocket!

Contacted support and they again stated that it should fit. After conferring with their technical team, the rep then flipped and said sorry it would NOT fit the 15" size. They thanked me for my business and said they'd update the website (as of today, the description has not been updated online). Since the jacket was rinsed, I had no other option but to keep an expensive jacket that I can't use for my intended purpose (traveling with my work laptop on low cost carriers with weight restrictions). Upset because I now have to find another jacket option (or get a new studio laptop - not an option for me).

Don't think I'll be buying another Scottevest until they can get their act together.

Had a Quest vest for 60 days and it is fading significantly. It was black when I purchased it but is now a spotted Gray. It looks horrible. Below is the response I was given which is really poor customer service. I never washed it, the fading happened on its own. I have since washed it but that didn’t help. Buy at your own risk. You have been warned. I will not be purchasing anymore items from them...very disappointing.

Did you followed the care instructions: Machine wash cold with like colors, delicate cycle. Only non-chlorine bleach when needed. Tumble dry low, remove promptly. Cool iron use press cloth. Do not dry clean. Do not steampress. No dryer sheets. Clear touch can melt in dryer. No commerical dryers. Close all zippers before washing. Remove all electronic devices and wires. Remove keychian before washing. Please remove RFID pouch for laundering.

Please know that we do not cover normal fading due to wear and tear under warranty. So I suggest you to follow the washing instructions.

I bought the men's microfleece hoody for myself and my husband for a recent trip to Europe. I liked the men's style much better than the skimpy looking ladies jacket. This was the best purchase and a real life-saver for our travels. We both love our Scottevest hoodie! I call it The Precious! The microfleece is so soft and comfy, and we love all the pockets! It turned out it was quite chilly in England and Belgium in April and May. We wore our jackets every day, so our 16 days of photos look like one long day. Oh well, at least we were warm! We went to a concert in England, where only a tiny purse was allowed. No problem...I stuffed all my necessities into my many pockets, and we waltzed right in! The measuring method on the website worked perfectly. I wear a ladies large hoodie, and the men's medium was right on. I looked at lots of different travel jackets and read probably 100 reviews. This is the one, and I'm so happy I bought them. We both got black...it goes with everything!

Well made hoodie with great pockets. They are my goto hoodie for travel and just getting out. Good weight for evening a cool weather.

Scottevest has some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. They refuse to honor the return policy listed on their website and tried to charge me additional money (30% of the original cost!) for a standard exchange. Their customer service agent was rude and aggressively pushed the additional fee, not listed anywhere on their website or in their return policy. Beware!

My new clothing supplier as a photographer I need pockets and now own five pieces from SCOTTeVest and their customer service is excellent. You can trust these guys and you will love their clothes.

My main problems with the coat are the material, fit and cost. The material on the black jacket attracts all kinds of fuzz and lint, so it always looks dirty or unkempt with bits of lint or hair. The material is also much thinner than I expected. The fit is very boxy and large. The pockets don't seem to add much functionality. What I mean by this is the two main coat pockets have extra compartments inside them that I don't have much use for. All the other pockets require you to unzip and get inside the coat. Based on all of this, I would not recommend the jacket at all, especially for the cost.

--After writing this review, I was able to exchange my coat for one that meets my needs much better! Thank you for the help and willingness to make sure your customers are happy.

Scottvest, they are the worst company, they wont honor your returns or exchanges...dont do business with these crooks...

Jim Doolittle went above and beyond with his customer service skills. I'm very impressed with the speed and detail that was taken during this call.

Purchased two SCOTTeVEST's for my parents as a birthday gift. They travel a lot and love how easy it is to carry all their stuff through airport security.

The product is great but the delivery. Via USPS is very disappointing . My package has been sitting in the Indianapolis post office for 55 hours before starting on its final 30 miles of the trip.Thr tracking is great but the customer service commitment of USPS does not match Scottivest expectation.

I ordered three(3) ScotteVest items which didn't arrive. So, I contacted the ScotteVest Customer Service Dept. for assistance.

The ScotteVest Svc. Rep. asked me some questions to try and pinpoint what happened. He then contacted the Parcel Carrier Company who investigated, found the packages, & put them in my locker box (along w/my missing Amazon.com products).

This is "above-and-beyond-the-call-of-duty" customer service &
as long as ScotteVest remains in business, providing this type of 5-star quality service, I'll continue buying their clothing. In fact, I'm supplementing my current wardrobe, with as many ScotteVest articles of clothing that I can get! It's a joy and pleasure dealing with the ScotteVest company & team. GO SCOTTEVEST!

Allison was wonderful! She was very patient and helped me compare different items. I already own a vest, so I'm excited to try the jacket.

I received a SCOTTeVEST as a gift but it didn’t fit and it sat for a period in its original packaging. When I found it I figured I was not going to get an exchange. I sent an email to see if I could return it and was told I could, so I sent it out with my size and and in five days I had the new vest. GREAT SERVICE! THANKS!

Just received my ScotteVest hiking shorts (aka Hidden Cargo Shorts) and they are amazing. The fit is perfect and i love the many pockets that will come into major use for my long hikes. Thanks, Scott. I will be ordering long pants and a vest soon.

Being disabled in a wheelchair and with minimal use of my hands having all my gadgets, both for me and my service dog, easily at hand in my featherweight ScotteVest is simply put amazing. Thank you for coming up with your system to allow these jackets etc. to be able to carry so much yet still look good on you.

I bought 2 SCOTTeVEST Cotton Hoodies about 3 weeks ago. I returned one unopened as soon as it arrived as I had opened the 2nd one and found the hoodie to look very downscale, really only wearable at the gym. It is much less good looking in person than in the pictures. I kept and used the 2nd hoodie for a few weeks. Now, it is on its way to the donation center because it has a huge design flaw.

The flap inside the neck (designed to allow wires to be run inside the hoodie) doesn’t stay completely closed after just being put on and taken off, exposing velcro that was designed to keep the flap closed. When I am active (e.g., doing bench presses, chest flies, pull-ups, etc.) the velcro scrapes against my neck with each movement. This can be hard enough to break the skin, causing abrasions and slight bleeding.

I wrote the company and sent pictures. The response: "After reviewing the photos with our design team, we've determined that your hoodie is not defective. While the tab is designed to keep the velcro from scratching your skin, it's possible for the Velcro to be exposed during certain rigorous activities such as in the scenarios you described. Because your Hoodie is not defective and because it has been worn, we are unable to accept your item back for return"

I had previously bought and really liked the sport coat from SCOTTeVEST but after this experience of offering a poorly designed product and not standing behind it, I will never buy another SCOTTeVEST product.

This is not unusual when dealing with little companies selling over the web in my experience. About 1.5 years ago, I also bought a BauBax BOMBER Jacket and found similar issues. I used the jacket w/o the hood for the first month. When it became colder, I used the hood which is so big that it fell down over my forehead and the eye mask covered my eyes. If there was a drawstring, I could have tightened it, but there wasn't any such string.

I wrote the company and sent pictures. The response: "Thank you for providing feedback. My suggestion would be to fasten a piece of hook and loop tape to the inside of the hood and on the eye mask. The eye mask can stay fastened when not in use. Hook and loop "tape" would need to be hand sewn onto the hood and eyemask but it would work great for this issue. I have sent your feedback to our design team who are currently working on the new designs for our next generation jacket."

I was able to rig up some Velcro straps to keep the hood partially folded. But that makes the jacket look much worse. So, it is now a beater jacket.

So, after twice buying items over the web that looked great but turned out to have design flaws AND finding that both companies do not stand behind their products, I would never buy that way again. I will return to shopping at local stores where I can try on the items first! I would urge all consumers to be wary of small companies selling untested products over the web, and especially avoid SCOTTeVEST and BauBax.

The neck is tight but other than that it's a awesome pack jacket!

I found SCOTTeVEST years ago and everything I have purchased has been just awesome. I have vests, coats, fleece, Q-Zips, SJ QZips, Underwear, and I just ordered some Weekenders. i LOVE the Q-Zips for work. I get nothing but compliments and I high use WEAR them (restaurant business). I get my company logo put on them and they are my go to uniform 6 months out of the year when its cooler outside.

Customer Service is 100% all the time. Shipping is FASTER than anyone else around. You WILL NOT be disappointed.

To all the staff there- Keep up the awesome work at SCOTTeVEST!
