Before my first experience with Sandy Ames, I was in therapy for thirteen years with spotty results and ineffective medication. My mind and body were out of wack; I was overweight and severely depressed; my anxiety kept me indoors and unable to sleep at night. I also experienced physical pain, and my addictions were out of control. For years, something kept nagging me (in the back of my head) that "I" was the actual cause of all the mishaps in my life, and I decided to try hypnotherapy.
With no expectations and nothing to lose, I attended my first secession. I loved Sandy immediately. She is welcoming, kind, funny, and professional. Additionally, she shares candid and impactful stories, a strategic component of hypnotherapy. But the most astonishing element of the whole process is how immediate and natural the results feel. Areas of my life that I struggled with for years were no longer a part of my daily life. Then the next thing I knew, they were out of my life completely.
Miraculously I stand here today, having gained control and focus over various areas of my life. It is wild; I am happier now, my addictions have subsided, I lost weight, and so much more. Although I was apprehensive, Sandy introduced the importance of meditation. Now, I practice it daily through hypnotherapy mediations (MP3s) on the Sandy Ames website (SANDY AMES HYPNOTHERAPY CLINIC); they are incredibly worthwhile to check out.

I am in Europe and I had an online hypnotherapy session with Sandy who was in NY.
Sandy made absoulutely sure that I was under hypnosis. I have so many, many positive side benefits from that one session, even though it has been months!

I don't know where to start. My previously asymetrical smile ( since childhood and now I am 58) is now symetrical. It never bothered me much to have an asymmetrical smile, and that is not what I came for but my point is, the WHOLE ME is so much more balanced and aligned that it shows on my outside. Also, and this is very important, even though I could only afford one session, it gave me so, so much AND ALL recorded hypnosis, wether from Sandy Ames or from other hypnotists work so, so much better now.

If I can give Sandy 100000 more stars I would. 5 stars doesn’t do justice what an amazing soul Sandy is. She has completely changed my life. I went to Sandy for multiple things and by the time we finished our sessions, I couldn’t believe how far I’ve come and I was secretly sad to be parting ways for now. Who would have thought I’d be able to take control of my panic attacks and who would have thought I would enjoy my flights?! Sandy’s energy and personality just radiates. Truly felt so heard, safe and comfortable with her. I thank G-d for putting Sandy in my path and feel so lucky to have met someone so wonderful. I signed up for hypnotherapy with Sandy a few weeks ago as a New Year gift to myself to work on my confidence. After just a few sessions, a shift happened in my brain - my inner self talk improved. The feelings of fear or not knowing / nerves are less intense. Sure I still get worried or slightly overthink at times but deep down now I know I'm going to be ok and everything will be ok. I am more aware of the emotions I attach to things or tasks that I never knew I did before. I'm getting more comfortable with not knowing all the answers. The wheels are still turning in my head and I continue to have mini breakthroughs here and there which I love. Thank you Sandy and I'll be back.

Sandy helped my anxiety SO MUCH! Before coming to Sandy I had explored traditional therapy and been coping with CBD oil to ease my nerves around school and self esteem. DID NOT GO AS EXPECTED!

When I consulted Sandy for hypnotherapy in the hopes of quitting smoking, I expected results. Result(s) being defined as “ a consequence, effect, or outcome of something”. What I got were definitely results in the form of quitting smoking - or as Sandy puts it, “(becoming) a permanent ex-smoker”, AND about 800-900% more! Like many, I was a LITTLE skeptical about the effectiveness of hypnosis on my stubborn, control freak, neuroses ridden infrastructure of a personality, but all my doubts had vanished within the first 20 minutes of our first session. Sandy treats you (clinically and personally) as a whole person; examining the root causes of whatever issues you may have, NOT JUST as client who wants an end result. After 4 sessions, the lessons I learned, the bond I formed with this therapist, and the seeds that were planted have not only led to the cessation of my cigarette use, but have rooted themselves so deeply that I am subconsciously implementing them in all facets of my life, including the betterment of my career, weight loss and healthy eating, and an overall feeling of heightened wellbeing and happiness. I think Sandy’s rates are extremely fair (a bargain really) and if I had the time I would continue doing weekly sessions SIMPLY because she improves the quality of my life. Highly recommended hypnotherapist! Sandy is my self-help guru full of valuable information. When I first started working with Sandy in 2016, we focused mostly on reducing test anxiety. With the help of Sandy's one-on-one hypnotherapy sessions and audio guided meditation, I no longer feel anxious when sitting for large exams.
