Finca Meraki Ojén by Ruralidays - Frygteligt villa.

Der er ikke hynder til solsenge. De hynder der er til havemøbler er utrolig slidte og hullede. Kulgrill er møg beskidt og ikke rengjort - hvilket i øvrigt gjaldt for hele huset.
I køleskabet var der spildt “noget”, som udlejer febrilsk forsøgte at fjerne med en våd klud - indtil han opgav med ordene: “mama mia” - han talte i øvrigt kun spansk, hvilket vanskeliggjorde kommunikationen. Køleskabet er, som alt andet beregnet til en famile på 5-6 personer - men reklameres til at være til 14! 3 soveværelser var med direkte adgang fra det fri, væk fra huset. Så for at komme på badeværelset skulle du udenfor. I et soveværelse i anneks løb der firben rundt - for gulvet var med revner mellem gulvbrædderne, hvor firbenene forsvandt ned i. De såkaldte dobbeltsenge var i nogle rum kun 120 cm.
I hele huset lugtede der voldsomt jordslået og i toilettet, som man kom til udefra lugtede meget af kloak - vi hældte vand i vandlåse for at fjerne lugten.
For at komme frem til huset kører man flere kilometer på hullede veje! De var så dårlige at bunden på vores SUV flere gange slog med sten i vejen. Det tager ca. 1 time at komme fra byen til huset.
At VRBO overhovedet vil udleje denne ejendom er os en gåde. Vi har flere gange lejet hos VRBO fordi de stod for noget eksklusivt.
Jeg vil opfordre VRBO til at besøge denne ejendom - husk at køre i en 4-hjulstrækker. Det er en skændsel at VRBO blot trækker på skuldrene over vores indvendinger.
Vi har både billeder og video af ovenstående. Vi måtte finde alternativ overnatning, da ejendommen er fuldstændig ubeboelig, med jordslået stank, kloakstank, møgbeskidt køleskab og køkken, firben (og sikkert også andre dyr) i soveværelset, huller i hynder og en grill ingen vil lave mad på. Hold jer langt væk.

Poor resolution of a genuinely difficult family situation – no goodwill offered

I have never left a negative review, and I have never previously left a holiday early, but I feel it is important to share our experience with Ruralidays.

We booked a rural villa in Spain for a 7-night family holiday with two young children. Shortly after arrival, we encountered a combination of practical issues that made it very difficult for us to remain at the property.

The most significant issue was being informed, with less than 24 hours’ notice, that there would be a complete loss of both electricity and running water for several hours the following morning. In a remote rural location, with temperatures approaching 30°C and two young children, this created a situation where we did not feel able to reasonably remain at the property.

This was compounded by the practical realities of the location, including a very remote setting and difficult access, which required a level of driving confidence and constant use of a vehicle that we had not fully appreciated from the listing.

As a result, we made the difficult decision to leave after less than 24 hours and book alternative accommodation for the remainder of our holiday.

The property itself was well presented and the local property manager was helpful and responsive. Our issue is not with the owner or the condition of the accommodation.

Our dissatisfaction lies with Ruralidays’ handling of the situation afterwards. We raised the matter promptly and explained the circumstances in detail, not seeking to assign blame but to request consideration of a partial refund or goodwill adjustment given the extremely limited use of the booking.

Despite acknowledging the circumstances, Ruralidays ultimately declined any refund, credit, or goodwill gesture, stating this was in line with their terms.

While I understand policies exist, I was disappointed that no discretion was applied given the unusual nature of the situation and the fact that the property was used for less than a day of a week-long stay.

Overall, I would advise caution when booking if you are expecting flexibility or goodwill support in unforeseen circumstances. The booking process is straightforward, but in our experience the post-booking support did not reflect the level of customer care we would have hoped for.

This was such an interesting experience, as I'd never used this company before! I'll be honest, I was quite apprehensive at first because the second part of the payment had to be made via bank transfer directly to the owner, which felt a little unusual. As a result, I was on tenterhooks in the lead-up to the holiday and even when we first arrived.However, as soon as we met the owner at the BP petrol station, all of those worries disappeared. From that moment on, we could properly relax and enjoy our holiday. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, and even escorted us up to the villa as the road was very steep and narrow. Despite the language barrier, she explained everything perfectly using a translation app and even told us about local events taking place during our stay.I honestly can't recommend the owner highly enough – such a lovely woman.As for the villa... wow! It was absolutely stunning. The view, the pool, the outdoor seating area, and the Balinese bed were all perfect. It was exactly what I was looking for in a relaxing holiday. The villa was spotless and ready for us on arrival, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.My only piece of advice? Consider hiring an automatic car if you're not used to steep, narrow roads!

en het huisje in Arenas ( mal 6100) is wel een echte topper , super mooi nieuwbouw van 2025 alles op hoog niveau gemaakt , heel mooi afgelegen en de eigenaar schatten van mensen een echte aanrader !!

Estupendo la instancia, tranquilad y los dueños una maravilla

Hemos estado el fin de semana del 5 al 7 de junio. Una casa magnifica, el exterior sin palabras, una tranquilidad, una paz, parece que estas en medio del campo, pero no estas en el pueblo y aun así no hay ruido ninguno. Se me ha hecho corta la estancia allí.
Rosario una mujer muy amable y cercana.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this villa near Malaga. As a family of five, we couldn’t have asked for a better holiday experience. Everything was perfect from start to finish.The villa itself was immaculate, beautifully maintained, and spotlessly clean throughout. The accommodation was spacious, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing family break.The views were simply breathtaking, and the pool was a real highlight, providing hours of enjoyment for both adults and children. The location offered the best of both worlds – peaceful and rural, surrounded by stunning scenery, yet conveniently close to the airport.One of the things we loved most was being within walking distance of several superb restaurants, making evenings effortless and enjoyable. It was the perfect base for exploring the area while still enjoying privacy and tranquillity.A special mention must go to the hosts, who were friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Their excellent communication and attention to detail helped make the whole experience seamless and enjoyable.We would not hesitate to return and highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a memorable stay near Malaga. A truly outstanding property that exceeded all our expectations.

De stappen zijn niet geheel duidelijk. We hebben een reservering gemaakt maar weten niet hoe we resterende bedrag moeten betalen en of het hiermee 100% geboekt is.
