Is this the company that appeared on Rip Off Britain? If so they will hopefully repay the huge deposit they owe plus any legal costs.

I would NOT recommend this company for any services. They tell you the call out fee is 50£ but on arrival we got quoted 300£. We decided to go ahead with the job and then we were quoted 3500£ to fix a shower and a fuse box.
I explained I had already replaced this in the past and that we would get a new electric shower ourselves and they refused to fit it (Aqualisa).
I asked to explain why I was being charged for “testing and inspection” and nothing had been fixed. The engineer got very vocal about how he had done this and when I asked for a certificate of inspection he refused.
I felt very vulnerable in my own home and he would not leave until I made payment. He was also blocking the door as he was standing in front of this. They have clearly taken advantage of me and my partner said just to pay and get him out of this house. I have called 5 times today to chase a receipt and report of the so called inspection and nothing has been provided. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
From other reviews it seems they OVERCHARGE and take advance of women. I will be reporting them to trading standards.

December 2025 I had a issue with my cooker blowing the fuse box . A electrician came out and used one of his tools to test all my downstairs sockets . He confirmed it was probably the cooker at fault and changed a fuse in the box . Was here for half a hour and charged me £580 . The cooker still blew the fuse and when I tried to call him later on there was no answer . I tried to contact Robinsons and asked to speak to someone but never received a call back . I tried to leave a review on their website but it wouldn't allow the review to be posted. My husband was at work so I paid . Hope this doesn't happen to anyone else .

⭐☆☆☆☆ Avoid Robinson Limited – Dishonest Diagnosis and Contradictory Information
I contacted Robinson Limited regarding a short circuit and agreed to a £49 call-out charge. The electrician arrived, took a quick look, and without even removing the LED mirror, claimed the issue was "probably a loose cable" and quoted me £249 to fix it.
When I questioned how he could diagnose the fault without carrying out any proper investigation, he told me he didn't need to check and could effectively "sense" what the issue was. That immediately set alarm bells ringing.
I then called the office and spoke with Michael to discuss my concerns. Instead of reassuring me, he told me that I should know "this is how the trade works." After further discussion, I was assured that if they couldn't fix the fault, I wouldn't be charged. He later tried to describe the situation as a "miscommunication," which I completely disagree with.
Based on that assurance, I asked the electrician to return. He removed the mirror and then claimed he had fixed a loose cable, but that the LED mirror required a new adaptor/driver. Despite the problem still not being resolved, he expected payment.
Later that evening, my neighbour, who is a qualified electrician, took a look. He confirmed there had never been a loose cable. The actual issue was a failed LED driver/adaptor, which was causing the circuit to trip and simply needed replacing.
The whole experience left me feeling that a fault was diagnosed without proper testing, contradictory information was provided by the office, and I was being pushed towards an expensive repair that wasn't needed.
After this experience, I also find it difficult to trust some of the glowing online reviews. The service I received was completely at odds with the positive picture presented by many of them.
Poor diagnosis, poor communication, and poor customer service. I would not recommend Robinson Limited.

Following a ring sockets power trip at 2045, caused by a suspect power socket being switched off, I Googled and this 'company' came up. A call through a WFH 'call centre' assured me an electrician 'within 45 minutes'. After 1 hour I called and was told he was en route. He arrived at 2220 and without checking the suspect socket, he declared my 6 year old consumer box was the problem, and he just had an updated one in his car! He said it could be installed in 90 minutes. THEN the cost would be a nice round £2,200 + VAT = £2,600.
I was unable to access the internet to check this cost, and with the house dead for boiler, freezer, etc, I reluctantly agreed to pay by card. The next day AI informed me that the true cost would have been £300 for the box and a maximum for £900 for call out and labour - £1,400 less.
On departure I asked when I would get the EICR certificate, guarantee and invoice - he replied it was for the 'office' to deal with, suggesting this lay with Robinson Electrical.

After nothing after 2 weeks I called over 10 times and was told 'the boss will call you' - nothing. I then completed the online contact form requesting the above, and mentioning I would contact Trading Standards if there was no response. 2 days later I sent and email again repeating and giving 2 days notice before lodging a dispute with Visa.

5 days later I contacted Visa, who agreed that the company had failed to provide the essential and necessary documents and thus the transaction was not acceptable. I have to provide a full Electrical Instalation Condition Report (essential when the new fuse box is installed) from a registered company, which I am currently having done at a cost of £300. This will be sent to Visa and the Dispute will be actioned, and inviting Robinsons to remove their new consumer box, if they wish.

My qualified electrical contractor, a big guy, has actually made contact with the manager of Robinsons, having established they are NOT registered (and thus unable to issue EICRs), and the response was 'watch your back, I know where you live!'

Update 28/7/26.
I have established that this company has only 1 director, aged 19! It has only been registered for 19 months with Companies House, and not a family firm established for 51+ years, as advertised on Google. They are not registered to either of the 2 advertised electrical control agencies, thus unable to issues EICRs. They do not respond to calls, email norther online contact firm. My dispute as been approved. I have passed all my information to BBC Watchdog.

Similar to an earlier review, posting here also as it seems Google have suspended reviews for this business; I hope others will see my review here and avoid this company.

AVOID THIS COMPANY. I wish I had checked and heeded the other 1-star reviews on Google.

I was charged £658.80 for just 1 hour of standard labour to fix some kitchen and living room lights. This is an outrageous markup- I have since learned this amount normally covers a whole day of professional electrical work.

They use high-pressure tactics by sending inflated prices via text once they are already inside your home, demanding you reply "I confirm" on the spot before they start.
No formal paperwork or invoice was provided.

I have given them the opportunity to issue a partial refund before I escalate this as a formal credit card dispute and report them to Trading Standards.

Save your money and use a reputable local electrician instead.

Posting here because Google has blocked reviews on their business due to suspected fake reviews, which makes sense given they’re all either 5* or 1*…….

We booked with Robinsons and expected them to carry out the work. Instead, a random electrician from a completely different company turned up on the day, with no warning beforehand. He was also nearly an hour late.

Has to chase for weeks just to get the certificate we paid for (over £700 btw, very expensive). A month on, we still don’t have an invoice despite repeatedly asking both Robinsons and the subcontractor. Robinsons don’t reply to calls or emails at all, so you’re left dealing directly with someone you never chose or vetted.

Checked the subcontractor’s details against the electrical register myself and couldn’t find them listed. I’ve reported this to NICEIC directly and I’m waiting to hear back.
