This was my second time subscribing to…
This was my second time subscribing to Ridwell. Unfortunately, their customer service has gone downhill since I last used them. Simple questions now can take a week to get a response, and when they do reply, it often doesn't address what I actually asked — other times, there's no response at all. At the end of my subscription, they were supposed to do a final pickup and collect the bin itself. Instead, they treated it like a routine pickup — sending a message saying they came by, found nothing to collect, and would see us at the next pickup — as if the end-of-subscription request had never been logged at all. The bin is still sitting on the property, and now my landlord has to deal with it. My guess is they've grown faster than their support team can keep up with. While I want to support the idea of the service they provide, overall this has been a frustrating experience.

Secondly, I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Yasmeen - the head of our Growth team here at Ridwell, and I'm taking your feedback very seriously.
We have indeed experienced tremendous growth since launching our new national product, Ridwell Mail In. It's a really exciting time, because each new member that signs on is helping to divert real waste from landfills, and it all adds up to quite a bit of impact.
But, I'll be the first to underscore that we can't grow at the expense of member experience. Thoughtful, inspiring, and--at the very least--*functional* member experience has always been at the center of our brand promise to you.
Our Member Success team is an especially dedicated group who care deeply about upholding this standard. Some of the folks on the team have been with us for over 7 years, helping countless members over that time period. We care a lot about them, and they care a lot about you.
Over the past few weeks, we've experimented with some growth efforts that inadvertantly caused an increase in Member Success team tickets, and as a result that team fell behind on responses.
Over the past two weeks, we rallied an internal taskforce to rectify the issue and I've temporarily slowed growth efforts to ensure that we can give every new member a fantastic experience. I'm proud to report that our hardworking team is back on track towards our typical ~24-48 hour response time.
Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback, and I'd be happy to speak with you personally should you have anything else you'd like to share.

Had one of their workers by my house
Had one of their workers by my house to try and sell me on their product. I listen to his whole pitch cause I believe it’s good to at least hear people out, inform em that I will not be purchasing their product. And the seller proceeds to curse me out under his breath as if I couldn’t hear him.

Thank you for your kindness, hearing out our salesperson's pitch. This behavior is absolutely not up to our standard, and we've addressed it with the team.
We knock on doors for a simple reason: recycling has always been a confusing, black-box industry, and most people have no idea what actually happens to the stuff they toss in the bin. Our team is out in the neighborhood to answer those questions and more, and show people there's a better option — never to pressure anyone into anything. A 'no' is a perfectly good answer! It should always be met with respect.

I'm was disappointed in their customer service
I am pleased that my moving issues were resolved after a great deal of back-and-forth. It's good to be part of the solution again!
Previous review: I'm disappointed in their service. I moved and they failed to deliver our box on the agreed day. I reached out in all possible ways and CS replied, "Unfortunately a bin delivery did not get scheduled for your pickup today." We've planned this for months.
I can't tell whether or not things are truly being recycled. But it certainly feels good to get rid of the plastic waste that otherwise goes in the trash.
This company needs better customer service.

Thank you for updating your review and giving us another shot to make this right. We take your trust in our brand very seriously.
We're growing quickly right now which is exciting, because it means more waste kept out of landfills and more hard-to-recycle materials given a second life. But we never want that growth to come at the cost of your experience.
Our support team has been backed up recently, and the delays you ran into are not our typical standard. As soon as we saw the backlog building, we rushed to reinforce the team. I'm proud to say we're nearly back to our typical 24-48 hour response time.
Thank you again for your patience and for beign part of the Ridwell community.
I've been using Ridwell now for about 4…
I've been using Ridwell now for about 4 months and am very happy with it. They provide you with bags that are pre-labeled for pick-up and provide a link to schedule pick up with USPS. Cost per bag is $12, less if you schedule regular bag shipments, I pay $9 per bag.
I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 because of another issue; they are impossible to get in touch with. I thought I'd do a 'good deed ' and Gift a starter kit to a friend. Something that should be simple; it is not! It was a perpetual loop of screens, I was asked multiple times for CCard info yet never able to complete the transaction, despite the fact that myCC was charged! I reached out to Ridwell by way of email, text and phone. No response. Finally, I get an email, 4 days later. Issue still hasn't been resolved.
I suggest you sign up for yourself, it is pretty straight forward, but I cannot recommend the Gifting option. Which is really too bad because it is a good service, but they really dropped the ball on the Gifting option.

That's one of the best compliments we could ask for, which obviously makes it all the more frustrating when you ran into an issue.

So far so good
So far so good. Have been using their services for several months. The pick ups are reliable and the documentation they share on how to sort your recyclables is clear. They are a bit slow to respond to emails but always do.
