I went in with a couple of cars that I was considering buying from their second hand cars. I was helped by Bhads, who made the whole process smooth and easy which made it a very happy experience and there was definitly no stress. Easy to talk to and was clearly knowledgable on the cars being sold.

Would easily recommend to any one else looking to buy a Hyundai in Southampton.

The initial online price for the car at the Richmond-Hyundai Southampton branch was listed as £10,000; however, after I paid the deposit, they claimed the actual price was £13,000 and that the lower figure had been posted online by mistake. They later offered it to me for £12,500; although I was initially reluctant, I eventually agreed—a decision that turned out to be a major mistake on my part. They promised to hand over the car the following week. When I returned the next week, they took the full payment and processed the road tax, only to inform me afterwards that the car was not yet ready. The manager stated that the refund process could only be initiated on Monday, by which time the car would also be ready. I went back on Monday, but the car was not ready, and the manager was not present. I finally received the car a day later, but to this day, they have not provided the owner's manual or the service book. They emailed me stating that the documents were ready for collection; I have visited three times but still haven't received them, and now they say they will deliver them to my home. I lodged a complaint with the head office, but no action was taken.

From start to finish the service was amazing, all my questions were answered, the car I got had a dent at the back and I was told that would be sorted by the time I pick it up and it was, honestly I’m so glad I went to your branch to get my new car. I’m so happy with the car and a huge thank you to Ali absolutely gem.

The initial process was somewhat long winded but as expected. However, on hand-over of the 'new' car we were only then advised that a second (necessary) key could not be found. I was told the company you deal with on keys would be contacted and I expected to hear back reasonably soon. However, I must have called four or five times to ask what was happening and for a call back. This did not happen. Finally this week I was advised a key was available but I would have to take the car to Southampton for it to be paired to the car. ON arrival, it seems Richmond had failed to provide the PIN needed to effect the job and they had to hold on the phone for quite some tie to get it. This resulted in my having to sit around for even longer while the job was done. I have therefor lost an afternoon to this fiasco that ought to have been sorted out prior to handover of the car; failing that within a day or so and not required multiple calls to get a resolution.

I was in the process of booking my Hyundai in for its MOT when I received a call from hyundai southampton and spoke to a very polite young salesman called Aman singh about the possibility of upgrading my car for a newer model.
Aman talked about the cars available to me always keeping within my budget. Not pushing me to go over it. I decided it would be fun to test drive the hyundai bayon just to have a look and see what it was like.
I have had 3 hyundais and have been very pleased with the performance and reliability of them all.
Aman was both respectful and professional in his approach.
He answered all of my emails and phone calls quickly talking through any worries or questions I had, making the whole experience with them relaxed and enjoyable even if it was just my MOT and service being carried out. keeping me supplied with refreshments while I waited
I have found other car sales companies very pushy and not really bothered about the customers.
It was all about getting as much money out of the you, with little regard for budgets or choice.
I have always found the staff at hyundai southampton to be friendly, they have taken the time to get to know me over the years as I have had my cars MOT's and serviced by them.

I would strongly recommend hyundai southampton and especially Aman singh, if you are thinking of buying a new or even used car. They are even happy to bring a car from one of their other sites for you to test drive.
I am now enjoying my new car and looking forward to many years of happy motoring, safe in the knowledge that they are only a phone call away.

Our sales executive, Bhadur, really smoothed the whole process. He was friendly, very knowledgeable, encouraging but not pushy, and helped us to crystallise our decisions. He procured a car from another Richmond branch as the model we wanted wasn’t readily available locally. And although still trying to learn all the features, we’re very happy with the electric car we bought.

My experience with Hyundai Southampton has been incredibly frustrating from start to finish.
The problems began before I even collected the vehicle. My brand new car arrived late and with damage, resulting in me having to extend the insurance on my previous car at my own expense. At the time, I was assured that the damage would be repaired, I would be reimbursed for the additional insurance costs, and I would receive two free services as a goodwill gesture. To date, neither the reimbursement nor the repairs have been properly resolved.
The car was initially booked in for three days to have the damage repaired. After hearing nothing, I discovered that nobody seemed to know anything about the booking and the vehicle had simply remained on the forecourt. Following numerous phone calls, I eventually collected the car and was told that the person who dealt with the specialist paint had been called away. Whilst I appreciate that the paint is specialist, it is the paint finish on the vehicle Hyundai sold me, so this should hardly have come as a surprise.
The vehicle was then re-booked for another three-day period. When I arrived as requested, I was informed that the bodyshop was actually in Portsmouth and, once again, nobody appeared to know what was happening. I was told I could leave the keys and they would deal with it. Unsurprisingly, there were no updates.
When I returned to collect the vehicle, the work still had not been completed. Once again, I was given the "specialist paint" explanation. I requested to speak with a manager because I had not been provided with a courtesy vehicle despite still needing to work. After waiting 45 minutes, a manager finally appeared, having prioritised training commitments over dealing with a very unhappy customer. To make matters worse, he chose to discuss my complaint in front of an unrelated member of the public until I suggested we move to a private room.
After plenty of excuses, I was promised a full tank of fuel as compensation. A small loan car was eventually provided, but it had virtually no fuel in it, meaning I had to head straight to a petrol station.
After a week, my car was still not repaired. I eventually tracked down the outsourced bodyshop myself and spoke to a helpful gentleman there who explained that Hyundai had never actually booked the vehicle in. Instead, they had simply dropped it off and requested the work be carried out, despite apparently knowing there was already a four-week waiting list and that the repairs would need to be fitted around other jobs.
I collected the car yesterday and, unbelievably, the damage remains unrepaired.
The most disappointing aspect throughout this entire process has been the complete lack of communication. Different members of staff appear unaware of what others are doing, promised actions are not followed through, and I have repeatedly had to chase for updates. The overwhelming impression is that once the sale is completed, customer service effectively comes to an end.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend Hyundai Southampton for after-sales support. The sales process may be straightforward, but if anything goes wrong afterwards, be prepared for delays, excuses, poor communication and a significant amount of frustration.
I only hope that claiming the two promised free services proves easier than getting the damage repaired.

Excellent customer service from Ali - he didn’t make me feel like he was rushing me to make a decision when I purchased my car, the handling of the finance the options given were all explained and was made to feel looked after and comfortable. The handover was excellent and Ali showed me around the car and made sure there was petrol in it and went the the controls and in car entertain system and even connected my phone to the Bluetooth for me. All round top guy and excellent service would highly recommend.

Sales team were really positive, provided some great advice and weren’t too pushy. Once we explained what we were looking for, we got a great car to test drive and weren’t constrained on time. We were, in fact, positively encouraged to take as long as we wanted which was great and meant we could get a really good feel for the vehicle.
