Sensor Clean and Filter Removal
I went in to have my camera sensor cleaned and a filter removed (which was stuck to the lens). The whole process took just over an hour, so I was able to wait in the nearby coffee shop and do some work. My filter was removed in its entirety, so it could be replaced back onto the lens, saving me from purchasing another one. I am extremely pleased with the service received.

The reason for the delay in replying is that we did request further details so we could review your specific job, but as we have not received a response, we are unable to comment on the exact circumstances. For clarity, we do not charge for assessments, so if no fault was found the only cost would be any return despatch. Any recommended work is always optional and can be declined.
If you are able to provide further details, we would be happy to look into this for you
Fixation... Excellent sensor cleaning service …
Fixation is one of the few companies to offer sensor cleaning while you wait. A phone call the day before I took in my camera was dealt with in a friendly way and confirmed the while you wait service was still available. They cleaned a filthy sensor (the camera was bought secondhand by mail order) for me 3 years ago, and did a fantastic job.
My newest camera, secondhand camera, secondhand again, was cleaned in 90 minutes from the time I entered the building.
Fixation do an excellent job when cleaning sensors. They do it speedily and for a very reasonable fee.

responsive - good communication
I've had a Sony lens repaired by Fixation, following damage the autofocus mechanism.
There were some delays, owing to the unavailability of a part or parts, but Fixation kept me fully up to date on progress.
The lens is now with me and is in perfect, as new, condition.
I'll try not to drop any more lenses but, if I do, I'll certainly be very happy to use them again

Returned like new.
I had broken the hinge on my articulating camera screen on my EOS R7, the camera came back looking like new, you could not tell that it had ever been damaged.
The only downside to the service was the speed, and a lot of that was down to delivery of parts.
I would definitely use their service again as I'd rather wait a little bit longer and get a perfect repair than risk a quick fix and possible aggravation. Emails were answered quickly too, which is always nice.

No surprises, all good
It all went fine - effective fix (new shutter mechanism needed), they kept to the price estimate and returned the camera (Sony Alpha) a little earlier than I expected. Postage arrangements arevery easy. The camera came back squeaky clean with the battery at 100% and the date and time set

Awful service so far as a first time customer, eventually rectified by Fixation
Awful service so far as a first time customer. (edit: resolved at their 2nd attempt).
Sent a Tamron 70-180mm lens in to be updated to firmware version 3 so that it would work on my Sony A7v. Got the lens back and its on firmware version 2 hence still won't work on my camera.
Therefore at present Fixation have charged me £42 to do nothing. Hoping that they will realise their error and either:
1) upgrade to the latest firmware as requested
2) refund what they have charged given they haven't done the update.
1st update / edit: In response to Fixation's email - yes I would deem it to be awful so far. I paid for a service and you haven't done it. How else would you describe it?
Yes hopefully you will resolve it, but it now means that I have to drive to drop off the item again, and then ensure someone is in to collect it. This is around when I am trying to do my own job. So yes you may not see it as a massive inconvenience for yourselves but it is for me as a customer.
Its simple- do things right in the first place, and if you don't then think about:
1) customer impact and how you make it right. Inconveniencing the customer and just delivering the same service from thr customer having to do something twice due to Fixations incompetance isn't the best experience
2) what additional controls you will put in place to ensure this doesn't happen to another customer. It would suggest you have no oversight, so my recommendation would be a manager double checking such updates have been done correctly before sending to a customer. Would take someone a couple of minutes to do that.
No doubt I'll get a usual corporate response but its what you do when things go wrong that shows if you have decent customer service or not.
Note that the lens will be posted back to you again today so hopefully should arrive back to you to do what you were requested to do in the first place and I've now paid for in advance.
2nd update / edit: Fixation have now done what they should have done at the first instance at their second attempt.
They have turned around the 2nd attempt in good timing which is a credit to them.
However I have only changed to a 3 star rather than 5 star review given that:
1) Fixation's attitude when I wrote my original review
2) Fixation have delivered what they were paid for but had to take 2 attempts and meant additional requirements from myself i.e. shipping twice, being in to receive twice and no offer of Fixation to even offer a small discount for not delivering the service in the first place.
Therefore I feel that 3 stars is fairly generous.

We are sorry the firmware was not on the expected version when the lens was returned. Your email was received at 12:34pm and you would have received our automatic acknowledgement confirming we aim to respond within 24 hours. We replied at 4:00pm the same day, offering to arrange return carriage at our cost and to prioritise the update with same-day turnaround. We can also see that this email was opened, but we have not received a response from you.
Your original job was completed and returned within four working days. The firmware update itself was charged at £24, with the remaining amount covering the inbound courier label you selected and insured return delivery.
We also read and respond to Trustpilot feedback from the previous afternoon the following morning, so there can be a short delay before a public reply is visible. While we accept an error may have occurred and have acted quickly to correct it at no cost to you, describing the service as “awful” by writing this review within three hours of contacting us, before allowing time for a response, does not reflect the steps taken. We remain ready to complete the update promptly and resolve this for you.
UPDATE. Thank you for your further comments
We acknowledge your update and understand that having to send the lens back is frustrating. As already confirmed, we have arranged return carriage at our cost and will treat the update as a priority, completing and despatching it the same day it arrives with us.
We accept that this should have been correct first time and apologise for the inconvenience caused.

They repaired my broken Sony camera
I used fixation to repair my Sony mirrorless camera which had an electrical fault. The whole process was very smooth and the total cost actually lower than expected. Once I approved the repair the camera was fixed and returned to me within a week. So happy to have my camera back working!

Good service and excellent outcome
I seriously damaged an almost new Sony A7 CII and zoom lens (I thought the lens was totally destroyed), but Fixation quickly produced a quote and after a short wait for parts both were returned looking as good as new.
Even more importantly both worked perfectly as well.
The only thing missing was the ability for me to track progress online.
