This company is nothing more than a scam disguised as a service. They gladly take your money up front, but the moment they can’t deliver what you paid for, they hide behind their “convenient” fine print that magically protects them while leaving customers with nothing.
In my case, they admitted they could not provide the service—yet they refused to issue a refund. Their excuse? A carefully crafted policy that allows them to keep your money no matter what. This isn’t an accident, it’s a deliberate business practice designed to trap customers.
And I’m not the only one. After digging deeper and reading other reviews, I found that this is a recurring pattern. Dozens of people have complained about being charged for services Rent Reporters either couldn’t provide or didn’t deliver, with the same “too bad, no refunds” response.
Think about that for a second:
• They knowingly take your money without guaranteeing results.
• They admit when they cannot help you.
• Yet they still refuse to give refunds.
That’s not a business—it’s a predatory scheme.
If you’re considering signing up, please save yourself the frustration, wasted time, and lost money. There are other reputable rent reporting services out there. Don’t fall into the same trap so many of us have.

We do our best to be transparent about our refund policy, not just in our Terms of Service, but also throughout our website and FAQs, including clear explanations of when refunds are and aren’t available.
As part of our process, we’re required to follow strict guidelines from the credit bureaus, including verifying your landlord’s identity and their connection to the property. These steps are in place to ensure accurate reporting and help prevent fraud.
In your case, we were unable to complete the verification and reached out to you several times to communicate what additional information was needed. Unfortunately, we didn’t receive a response.

They are the worst customer service lies like it's their job they stalk and make counter offers to refund request and when you don't take it then they will say sorry you don't qualify for a refund. Run don't walk away from this company if your landlord doesn't comply and jump through their hoops then you are out the 94+ it's in the small in the terms and conditions but not the 1000 places you see their proud money back guarantee..they are scum heartless evil people especially Jacqueline Shire and Tamika

I went through the process and immediately starting having problems. Setup said contact customer support. No one answers the phone. Emailed them - got an autoresponder saying email was unmonitored but the email is the same as their privacy policy email. Tried to get help - no response. Asked for a refund - no respone - had to dispute with my credit card company

After receiving your review, we reached out to let you know that your rent payments had been reported and that you had a 7 day window to request a refund if needed.
You later contacted us to request a refund but because a dispute had already been filed with your bank, our payment processor no longer allows us to issue one, even when we'd otherwise be able to honor it.

They denied me of reporting my credit…
They denied me of reporting my credit to the credit bureaus. No explanation just that they didn't except me. I asked if it was credit based they said no. My Drivers license and social security is 100% valid. The fact that the can't tell me why they turned me down is unprofessional. No letter with an explanation. Just that they decided not to accept me.

RentReporters is a joke. Paid Registration fee and for a year subscription upfront. My property manager decided not send in the verification information that was required. They only refunded my yearly subscription. They just kept my $94.37. Scam stay away!

In this case, it appears your property manager was not able to provide the information needed to complete our verification. We understand how disappointing that can be, and we’d be happy to continue the conversation with them to complete the verification process required by the credit bureaus. Once we’re able to validate your rental history and begin reporting, you’ll have a full 7-day window to evaluate the results. If you decide for any reason that the service isn’t right for you, we’ll gladly issue a refund.

They tanked my credit!!!
I paid for a subscription in May/25. Within 5 days my rent was reported to equifax and transunion. My scores shot up. They say they reported to Experien, but I don’t see it on my page of their website and Experian says they have nothing. They say they reported my rent payment for June on June, 2 2025. It has yet to post, so my credit has now tanked because it looks like I missed a payment, when I have in fact not. I call rent reporters, they say they posted it, I call the credit bureaus and they say nothing was reported. Neither will look into what the other is doing. Looks like I need to file a complaint with the FTC and CFPB. I’m in the middle of purchasing a home and they tanked my credit by not reporting!
Asking for additional info. Started May 30. They posted my rent but never posted Junes payment which was already made on the 2nd. This makes it look like I missed a rent payment. Now they are a month behind. Asked them to contact the credit bureaus to make sure June was posted and they refused. I pay YOU for this service!

I've been a RentReporters customer for…
5 Years
I've been a RentReporters customer for 5 years. When I started I didn't have credit of any kind and I didn't want to play the credit card game, so this was a huge breath of fresh air. I've never had any problems with communication, moving, or updating information. I usually use the live chat feature, and I think I called a couple times a couple years ago and never had a problem. I was able to report at least one (maybe 2 but I don't really remember) previous tenancies before I started with RentReporters, so it gave me a jump start on building credit.
I just cancelled my subscription today because I finally purchased a home, in no small part because of the credit RentReporters helped me establish and build.
