After paying £20,000 to HMRC and forgetting about it, then SDLT experts shows up with a pitch to help me recover £12,000. It initially felt like it was a scam. But after my research and realising that all their claims were true, I gave it a shot. They told me it will take around 3-4 weeks to get a response from HMRC and the refund. Guess what? Jon contacted us recently with regard to our over payment of Stamp Duty on a house purchase , he advised us that he could make a claim for a refund and after discussing this we decided to let Jon deal with the claim , after a few weeks we were pleasantly informed by Jon that he had been successful in making the claim for us and he had received the full refund from the Reenue which he promptly handed over minus his reasonable fee.
