Not happy Jan.
I am astonished to see so many glowing reviews about Queensland Publishing and seriously question their legitimacy.
I originally signed with them on 28 May to publish a manuscript that had already been edited and previously published. Since then, I have experienced nothing but delays, mistakes, broken promises, and unnecessary hold-ups.
As of 12 July, nothing has been published by Queensland Publishing. The only version of my book currently available is the one I self-published on Amazon.
Over this period, I have received at least a dozen apologies along with a stream of excuses and reasons why the work could not be completed. These have ranged from a sick cat, to a doctor's order to take time off. While I appreciate that genuine personal circumstances can arise, the constant apologies, repeated excuses, poor communication, and failure to meet agreed timelines suggest an amateur operation that is simply not capable of delivering the professional publishing service it promises.
Another point that prospective authors should be aware of is that, despite its name, this does not appear to me to be an Australian-operated company. While it may have a Queensland business presence, all of my dealings were with staff based overseas. That may not matter to everyone, but I believe customers should be aware of it before signing a contract. It also means that they do not operate during ordinary Australian business hours.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Queensland Publishing.
