They NEVER stated the code was about to expire, they send you an email after everything has been printed charging you thousands of dollars or else they will keep your qr on hostage.
Also the qr doesn't really redirect to your link but their own.

Once you pay they unlock the real redirect to your link.
Do not trust.

Adverteren met gratis qr code, na een paar dagen merken dat die code al niet meer werkt, tenzij je een abonnement afsluit..
Ga naar gratisqrcode.nl, die communiceert eerlijk, ondanks de url naam. Voor je hun qr code maakt wordt duidelijk gecommuniceert dat je gewoon eenmalig een bijdrage betaalt. Geen verrassingen achteraf.

I didn’t know it wasn’t free. Now I’ve wasted lots of money on business cards that don’t have working QR codes on them.

Wow, who would have thought that there would be predatory QR code companies in this day and age where free QR options abound?

The scam is they trick you into generating a "free" QR code to put on your business cards, but that QR code doesn't go directly to your website. It goes through their website, so they can shut it down whenever they want. After you've had a couple of weeks to order your business cards they send you an email asking you to pay an expensive subscription to keep that QR code active. No thank you. I'll just order new business cards and burn the old ones rather than dealing with a scammy company like this.

Will not charge you monthly if you decide screw it ill pay for the few months since you already spent the money on the business cards/brochures you made, they also scam you on that! by giving the monthly price and then putting in very tiny text "billed anually," at checkout there is no pricing when typing your card, you think youre paying for $11 then they hit you with a $150 charge, my bank flagged it as fraud and denied it thank god, f these guys.

They are a duplicitous scam company. They supply the QR code for free not making it clear that they are not giving you a QR to the Address you requested but to link they own.
Once you use it they then cancel access to link and demand payment.

Disgusting! Stay Away

Advertised as free. Received email notification to extend to 20k uses for $11. When card information was entered, the charge was $150USD. Thankfully I was using a mastercard debit card with an account in which I keep a very low balance to AVOID THIS TYPE OF SCAM, so the charge didn't go through. I had to cancel my card though.

I designed a print campaign for a customer. Now I get an email, tjqt I have to pay 11 €/month, that the code will still be usable. I didn't get the information before, that I have to pay something. There was written "for free". This is scam! Don't download e qr-code from this page or better, don't even visit this page!

Last week, I needed to generate a one-off QR code for a client's print campaign. After Googling "free QR code generator", I was directed to their code generator, which clearly stated "FREE" in the heading. There was no visible mention of a charge (although I have since found a tiny disclaimer buried at the bottom of a page in font too small for me to read without enlarging my screen).

Yesterday, I received an email stating that the code will be disabled unless I pay $11 a month minimum for the next year. My client has already had the leaflets printed and distributed, so it's too late to change the code. However, on Reddit and other forums, I have read that the expired dynamic QR codes have been associated with phishing emails and scams, and not to hand over money in any circumstances.

I feel that I am being held to ransom. I don't want to pay money to a company that operates in such a deceitful way, especially as it would be a cost of around $120 for a single QR code. I now have to figure out the best way to help my client, as I don't want the code to damage their reputation.

Do not use this QR code generator. It is a scam.

SCAM. They say it's free but When You Are already using It they Tell You You Need To pay or The Code Is getting disabled. ABSOLUTE SCAM.

I generated a QR code on qrcodecreator.com believing it was free. I used it on printed materials for my business. Only afterwards did I discover that the QR was dynamic and would stop working after a 7-day trial unless I subscribed to an expensive annual plan (£11/month for a single code).

This was never made clear in the creation process. The information is buried in disclaimers at the bottom of a very long page, not presented when you actually generate your QR code. It feels like a deliberate “dark pattern” designed to mislead.

Now I have printed materials with a QR that will be useless unless I pay over £130/year. A basic static QR should be permanent, but they don’t explain that clearly up front.

I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this service. Use a free static QR generator instead, or create your own redirect so you stay in control.

Deceitful company. Misleading customers to create a "free" qr-code, only to then disable the code and forcing the customer to pay a monthly fee (ransom) in order for the code to actually work.
