I had a policy took me 3 to 6 months to get the paperwork and I found out we're talking to customer service rep from across the sea not even in America and Prudential does not train their field Representatives how to fill paperwork out correctly I try to get my reinstatement on my policy and the guy filled it out and it was wrong so prudentials no good if you can stay away from them they're no good go to Northwest mutual they pay higher dividends and they're nicer people

Prudential is the short-term and long-term disability provider for my former employer. They were incredibly challenging to deal with from the beginning. It is so clear how their goal is to make things so difficult process-wise and communication-wise that you'll give up, especially in the disabled state that robs you of your energy. IT IS QUITE AMAZING HOW THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOUR DISABLED STATE TO TERMINATE YOU AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

1. Communication is horrendous. My case manager was impossible to reach and consistently was almost inaudible. Absolutely, positively impersonal.
2. Portal is awful. You upload documents, and you can't see them after. They upload documents, and you often can't see them. Press on the link and nothing is there.
3. They selectively ignore communication from providers. They did this when they terminated my benefits and denied my claim.
4. THEY DO NOT TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION AT ALL THAT YOU ARE DISABLED, and need case workers to work helpfully with you to get the documentation you need.
5. They work according to timelines that only they set, without any coordination with other services whose continuance and cost are dependent on the continuance of LTD benefits. My former employer gives a generous subsidy to former employees on LTD for COBRA premiums, but it is dependent on the continuance of LTD benefits. My premium went up by over $800/month when Prudential terminated me.
6. Their appeal process is interminable and predictable. They know what they want and get that, and hope that you will give up in their big-company war of attrition.
7. They have little interest in understanding and factoring in mental health diagnoses, the course these disorders take, and what treatment they need. I am adjusting to a challenging diagnosis that needs significant time to settle into, lots of behavioral changes, etc. There was no way I could go back to work at the time they determined, even more so for a full-time job to match the LTD monthly payment. Part-time work, ironically, would have automatically ended my LTD payments but left me unable to support myself. I will be going back to work full-time, with a salary to support myself, in October, likely after 5 months of being denied benefits that I should have and desperately need financially.
8. The only truly helpful aspect of Prudential was their partnership with Allsup, which helped me file for Social Security benefits, although those were denied too, inexplicably.

One of the hardest companies to do business with. You would think a well known large company like this would be easy to do business with but they make it very hard. Their website for life insurance is atrocious. For instance: I have to tell them my premium amount. Shouldn't they know that? I have to tell them my email address. I know they know that. Multiple unnecessary clicks are a pain. I know a lot smaller companies with excellent websites. Perhaps Prudential should hire a webmaster away from one of those.

Prudential is resisting paying a disability claim to a teacher that had 3 healthcare providers certify that she is disabled. This is a dedicated former teacher of the year trying to work through her condition as she didn't want to be known as disabled. She finally accepted the reality months before retiring.
Prudential is responding with Catch-22 reasons not to pay her claim. I feel sorry for all those that desperately need their disability payment to survive.

One of the worst companies in the world. They are out there to deny claims and maximize their profits. When denying claims, they will use incompetent employees without medical training, often times in India and Philippines and not a shred of humanity or empathy left in them. Then they will bombard you with half a dozen letters per week demanding the most ridiculous forms to be filled to push you to desperation.

My husband had a life insurance term policy with this company. I should have known right then trying to get my benefits not to invest in an annuity with them. They have turned into a clown show. Its too late for me to cancel this annuity, As a side note, the Prudential Adviser was hitting on me after my husband's death wanting to drive an hour one way to my house to get signatures. Whatever happened to the mail or electronic documentation? He never wanted to come here when my husband was alive. I don't get deposits always when they told me. Its my banks fault according to them. Social Security doesn't have this problem with my bank. I have called a few times with questions and they can't locate my annuity with my name, phone number, contract number or social security number. When I call back or contact the creep agent I'm told I was speaking to the wrong department. Can you believe? Do yourself a favor. Avoid this company.

I have had a Prudential life insurance policy for 20+ years. I am 71 yr. old. I called today to ask for paperless billing bc my mail is not being delivered consistently. Prudential told me there is nothing they can do. Seriously? They have no means to notify me electronically that my bill is due? Are they back in the 80's...pre-internet? Their job is to collect premiums and if I don't get my bill, not pay claims.

Prudential Annuities now sold to Fortitude RE. NO ONE from Prudential will return phone calls or emails. Complaints filed with the North Carolina Insurance Commissioner are answered with flat out LIES to cover their collective back ends. The sense is they will declare insolvency and walk away with investors money.

The "Comcast" of the American financial world. Do everything humanly possible to avoid this outfit and in particular, their Lancaster, PA field office and Evan Perets. Nothing more than a bunch of high-flying cut-throats who have no idea WTH they are doing. Horrible company with horrible employees

Customer service to support their 401 k app is pathetic. The app say to call prudential prudential gives you a number for empower and empower schools you on how this is prudential. If they manage your money with such precision run

I’ve been a Prudential guaranteed universal life policyholder for over 50 years. Now that I’ve reached my late 70s I’ve seen major premium increases twice in the last five years. The most recent increase was an indecent 30%. The intent of these premium increases is clearly to force policyholders to drop their coverage before Prudential has to pay a claim. This is morally offensive. But give actuaries credit for their ability to slice and dice data to shareholder advantage.

Why bother, looks like Prudential is ruining their business all on their own. Looks like they do not care either. I am just a small number compared to what they have done by themselves. Just shows I am wasting my time expecting them to fix my problem. With 1 star from nearly all the remarks I've seen, it won't be long now till stock drops etc, etc, etc.

four times I have called to make a claim on my father's estate the first time we were told all was good, we called a few weeks later, they mailed the check to the wrong address, but would mail another, two weeks after that, was told nothing had been done but check would be overnighted. Today 2 weeks later and the 4th person I could not undertand still no check has been mailed. One of my siblings got their check 7 weeks ago. this company is absolutely ridiculous, every phone call i had to start from scratch, why isn't all of this recorded in their files. Terrible company service

They suck sick. Get told one thing do the absolute opposite! Don’t want to release money from a loved one . Make you suffer thru absolute HELL making you wait . Pretty bad when you can’t even get an agent to help

As I write this, I've been on hold for 30 minutes. I just need an answer to a simple question about my claim. These people have made it as hard as possible every step of the way.

This company is pathetic. It has "over paid" 3, yes three times since the start of my wife's leave and has requested payback of $2,034. This is a level of obsertity and bigotry that is not acceptable. You are well paid to ensure that your clients are taken care of during such delicate times of their lives and yet due to incompetence you have failed our family. Screw you.

I’ll never put another dime into this company! The company I worked for, Yellow, went bankrupt & we were told 2 weeks ago were deemed terminated but for some reason we haven’t been updated in their system. It’s like they’re holding our money hostage, knowing this is the only means of survival that we have right now. Every time I call there’s a different excuse why or when the system will update. I would stay away from this company. Seems like a big scam to me!

If negative stars was an option I would have selected the most negative possible. Called 6 times today. Their phone lines are horrible and I was unable to understand 5 of the 6 people I spoke with. None of them were able to help with my login issue. Kept passing me to another department. Had enough.
Just put in papers to pay the surrender fee and get away from this jacked up company. Should be illegal.

SCAMMERS AND CIN ARTIST. Now I paying an overpayment to SSA. It started with prudential and then ALLSUP. They will bring you in to end up paying back the benefits from LTD plus any money you get from allsup. Big time scammers

If negative was a star, Predential is literally the worse company I’ve ever paid into. I had Predential 5 yrs and when I need them the most they let me down. I’m currently out of town with an operation that been scheduled but due to the negligence of Predential not sending my check out direct deposit, I’m literally in another states, still waiting a mailed check. When I called in they told me it’s nothing they can do until 10 days but canceling a check take 8 mins. I asked to speak with management the refused. Help Help
