My family have had one of the worst…
My family have had one of the worst experiences of our life with this dreadful charity. My daughter, fearing she was going to be evicted from her flat for having a pet, made the heartbreaking decision to sign her cat, Leo, a pedigree Bengal cat, over to Protected Paws, to be rehomed. What a mistake! First they lost him for a month in an area he didn't know. He was eventually found by workmen stuck behind a ceiling panel at Victoria Station. Then, only 5 days after she signed him over, my daughter realised she wouldn't be evicted and that she could keep her beloved cat. Protected Paws refused to return him. Even though he was a loved, well cared for pet. Even when my grandson who is extremely vulnerable due to having adhd and autism, wrote to them pleading with them to return his cat, they still refused. He explained how devastated he was at the loss of Leo, or Sunny, as Protected Paws were now calling him. He told them of the damaging impact it was having on his mental health and emotional wellbeing, including insomnia and anxiety, as well as the grief and pain of the loss of his much loved pet. Still they didn't care. They have now rehomed him, despite us pleading with them to return him to the family he knows and loves, long before they found an adopter. We are heartbroken. They have lost other cats in their care too. I think they are terrible, cruel people. They have badly hurt an innocent child and caused great suffering to Leo/Sunny the cat.
