I received $100 gift card from a friend. Called the number to check the balance before I went shopping. I was transferred to customer service. They asked for the numbers on the front, the numbers on the back, the security code, the gift card amount. Then says balance is zero. I never used it. I just opened the package. Then asked me for the name of who purchased. It's a GIFT! Why do you need a name? Bottom line, the card is a scam. First of all, the automated could have given me the balance. Why was I transferred? I'm just checking the balance. I knew right away... I got scammed.

This company stole my money, $35 to be exact. I just checked the balance and it is $0 with a transaction occurring (allegedly) at a Target in Long Beach, CA.

I know what you're thinking and no, I'm not there. I don't know anyone there, and I have never visited or traveled through there.

I received $100 gift card. I tried purchase in store but it failed. I called they said to register the card on their website which asks the PIN number. Clearly it states on the card you don’t need to activate card to use in store. By afternoon the $100 was used in Colorado. I live in California. And when I called to dispute they want me to send my ID card and description of what happened and gift receipt. Seems to suspicous to send copy of ID card either faxed or by mail to P.O. Box

I wish i can give them 0 stars. I received and gave away gift cards many times. this is the first time they ask me to go online and register, website is not working ... when you call they ask you ( if the answer) to send fax with gift card front and back .. your id front and back .. CARD ID # ???? - by fax !!!! , how many are using fax nowadays .. that is a total rip off of $500. government should stop this fraud.

DO NOT BUY GIFT CARDS FROM KROGER EVER! THIS COMPANY BARLEY SPEAKS ENGLISH AND WANTS YOU TO SEND IN ALL YOUR DOCUMENTATION, WHEN YOU DO YOU NEVER HEAR BACK FROM THEM, THE CARD BRAND NEW IN THE WRAPPER HAS ALREADY BEEN COMPROMISED BEFORE YOU EVEN OPEN IT TO USE IT, ITS AN INSIDE JOB PEOPLE THE MONEY IS ALREADY SPENT AND WHEN YOU BUY THE GIFT CARDS THEY ARE GETTING THE MONEY BACK.

STAY AWAY USE WALGREENS OR AMEX STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY TOTAL SCAM THE US GOVT SHOULD GET INVOLVED IN THIS ONE AND HOLD US BANK RESPONSIBLE!

I am personally trying to share my experience where possible with this company in the hoped that something done about how they grift and how they are allowed to get away with it for so long. If you have not have an issue, be thankful. I'm only going to share an abbreviated version but this honestly was the worst experience I've had with a company that calls themselves handling sensitive banking and ID information. They do not care if you are scammed out of 100s of dollars. I mean even $1 isn't okay.

I'm not sure of all they places they are sold but they are definitely sold in Krogers and possibly their other stores not under the Kroger name but owned by them. Going forward, I won't be buying any Visa or MC cards from there are any stores the Kroger band they own just to be safe.

The website hardly works. Some cards are fine but they are definitely subpar when compared to GC like mygiftcard, etc They will flag or cut off your card even though a payment went through. The cards also can come up as possible fraud even though you've or someone you gave it to, did nothing wrong. You cant check the status on the website because it hardly is functioning most of the time.

You are treated like a scammer first and a paying or properly gifted recipient last. I have read where some people give their ID. I would never after speaking with these people and seeing how the administering bank knows there are issues and doesn't care. They are way too unprofessional and caviler. I don't care if some have gotten good results. And who knows what they are doing with your personal information since they can not even run their business properly enough to not have rampant fraud on their cars, not use the payment system they are using which is inferior to other cards, and don't care if you are cheated out of money. They essentially steal at will. It's not like you can book a flight to India to visit the customer service headquarters.

They customer service line will block your telephone number or card number if you try to call to see what is going on with your card. They will also pick up and hang up you. They don't offer to try to clear things up if they see the card numbers may be tampered with.

They says things like it's turned off for 24 hours and they will make up an excuse like you put in the 3-digit code wrong too many times. If you call back, they will make up something else.

People who have lost money, need to also start filling complaints with a government agency whether they do something about it or not. It's a major drag and it's stressful dealing with company that has low ethics. But it helps other consumers and eventually, this will catch up with USBank who owns prepaidgiftcardbalance. They outsource the customer servce overseas. Krogers appears to do the same. Which is what it is, but the difference is when a company has high expectations in how you handle consumers. And when there is accountability. People tend to buy a lot of gift cards around the holidays.

I hope no one has to read this because they had the misfortune of getting a tampered card, etc. Remember it's not prepaidgiftcardbalance. It is USBANK. It's on the card as well as the janky website. Good luck to any fraud victims. File government agency complaints not just reviews.

Total scam. Activated the card, provided my info and changed the pin. In the middle of the night someone used it fraudulently. What was the point of me registering it? Very hard to get a refund or even someone who speaks English. Class Action Suit?

I have 2 gift cards totally $150 dollars, purchased from a local grocery chain. The receipt shows activated and I went home, immediately checked balances and they are both zero. I contacted the company for assistance, the first time the "customer service" agent hung up on me after he couldn't verify the number. The second call they told me my name doesn't match what on the front of the card - it's a gift card, there is not name. They would not provide further assistance. I asked for the Fraud Department and they ignored the request. This is the 2nd time in a month this has happened and the last time I'll purchase a gift card from this company.

I received my bday giftcard of 100 $ and checked balance 23th april and balance said zero. Someone had already used it for cash app for day after saying pending 100$ 24th april. I call them and all of them want your real government id .. and other documents which is totally insane. I read reviews and have decided not to do so. Just avoid this company. It’s either their own employees having access to these cards or someone else. Cards are being used as soon it’s bought by others. I am so disappointed that’s krogers & Ralphs works with prepaid gift balance.

FRAUD! $300 on the card, their website does not work.
Can not register card, can not register identification. Tried 3 different Browsers, deleted all the cookies, cache, etc, none of them work. Packaged PIN does not work as soon as you go to their website they tell you to get a new pin.

Racketeer operating out of Centennial Colorado threatened to use these cards to defraud people and here you have it!

Worst customer service ever. They don't listen to you at all when you call having trouble using the card. They only give excused and later time frames for when it will work. What a joke of a company!

Thieves. After experiencing difficulties activating a $50 card, I called and was told the card was valid and balance was fully available, but the account had been locked due to the number of attempts to activate it. The rep told me to wait 24 hrs, try again, and call back with any issues. 24 hrs later I had the same problem so I called back. At that point I was told the card had a zero balance and had been used. The rep refused to give me any further information so I asked to report it stolen for replacement, per the stated policy. I provided the (very carefully redacted) requested information via fax to the number provided by the what may have been the rudest person I’ve ever had the misfortune of speaking with. No great surprise, no one responded. When I called a third time, they claimed they never received my information (my fax confirmation proves otherwise), the rep called me a liar, and hung up on me. Shockingly, I never received a replacement card.

Went to use the balance on a $50 Gift Card and there was only $1.15 on it. Was able to get a transaction history which showed $25 was "redeemed" at SAKS NY 3/1/23. Called the card customer service, but was told the card was registered in someone else's name so they couldn't give me any info. Called SAKS, I was told the card was "redeemed" which meant it wasn't used for a purchase. Not sure how they did that without the physical card. SAKS is looking into it, but doubt they will be able to do anything. Called card Customer Service again and was told I'd need to provide proof of card ownership by faxing a copy of my driver's license (with photo and address) and a copy of the front and back of the gift card. Then card could be re-registered in my name.
I am NOT going to provide a copy of my DL so then my identity can be stolen! I've now spent several hours on the phone trying to get this figured out, but I'm done. NEVER again will I purchase "VISA" gift cards for anyone and will tell everyone I know not to purchase.

Website is always down. When you try to call you get someone from India that has such a thick accent you can't understand them. Unable to get card registered at all. This isn't the first time. I've learned my lesson. Never again.

My brother gave me $100 Gift Card which says Debit Visa. According to the card funds don’t expire, card valid through date on front. That is 06/30. I assume that should be used as expiration date? Every time I try to use this card online or in a restaurant it gets declined. Now what??? These gift cards are phoney if you ask me!!

I purchased a $100 gift card at a local Harris Teeter in VA. Shortly after registering the card online, someone in NY accessed the card and changed the name it was registered under then spent the money at a company called Saks. I don't believe this company is the clothing store but a front used to transfer the money from these gift cards. I tried to use the prepaidgiftbalance website from 3/17 - 3/19 and the website was down. I called on 3/19 and 3/20 to report the theft and I was told to fax a copy of my driver's license, the receipt, and the card and enlarge the pictures 200%. I do not feel comfortable faxing a copy of my driver's license to this company (with tons of bad reviews) that already compromised my info once during the initial registration, but the agents I spoke to gave me no alternative to "proving my identity." I thought I was buying a VISA product, but apparently VISA is just licensing it's name to a bunch of small companies of dubious quality. This appears to be some company out of Florida with tons of bad reviews, but the VISA logo makes the company seem legit. I'd like to warn people to just gift cash instead of gift cards. The other thing I'd like to point out is this company has to be aware that their website is compromised and that a lot of their stolen cards are being used in New York and charged to Saks, but when I called, the agents I spoke to acted like they didn't know anything about it. I plan to sue in small claims court as well as notify VISA and Harris Teeter that they are associated with a fraudulent product.

This card gets declined when trying to use it at nearly Any website! What's the point of a prepaid card that can't be spent????

I purchased a gift card for my Granddaughter Birthday from Krogers, put $50 on it. After trying to use it, I was told it was Invalid before I even purchased it. I told Krogers Management on March 3, 2023, they said, they can’t help me. When I called the # on the Card they wanted a Picture Front and Back of my Drivers License. Let’s start a Class action Lawsuit

To replace the gift card; they wanted my social security number, date of birth, etc.. What a scam!

I put $160.00 on one of these cards as “emergency” money. When I went to register the card I found that it didn’t have a 3 digit security number on the back (which I immediately thought was fishy) You can’t use the card online without it, so they sent me a new card. When I received the new card, my balance was $2.06. :( Doubt I’ll ever see my money again. I don’t even know how or who I’d complain to about this card company…I think just don’t want it to happen to anyone else!
