Very disappointing – both the gloves and the way Knox dealt with a lifelong customer

Initial issue:
The gloves have had very little use (less than 1k miles & less than a year old give or take) still look relatively new everywhere else, yet the leather on the right pinky started peeling and there is now a small hole developing. This isn’t normal wear and tear, these gloves have barely been used.

I had a pair of Handroid MK3s that I used on both the road and track for many many years. I had no hesitation buying another directly expecting the same level of quality and to provide support to the company without 3rd parties.

Contact Knox:
Contacted Knox as i purchased direct to ask for help under their warranty. The response I received was insinuating my fault and that something must have scraped the leather off. Really?

Gloves condition:
I’ll leave pictures of the gloves condition, they are barely used. The only thing on the bike that could possibly be contacting is a plastic brake guard (a requirement on a track bike). If a plastic brake guard is capable of rubbing through a premium sport glove to the point of creating a hole, then does that not pose a pretty serious question about the construction and durability of the glove itself?

On further inspection where the plastic finger spines are sewn in you can trace the splitting and leather peel forming all down that section. If you feel this plastic edge it is sharply shaped. You can further see it starting to flake where it meets even further at the tip of the finger. This seems to be a pressure point where the sharp edge is pressing on the leather which in my opinion causes the splitting from the inside out. (I wont name them but theres a different brand glove you can see this happen on even from new in a store).

Warranty Issues:
I’m a loyal Knox customer having or still own their urbane mk1, the pods mk4, gauntlet mk3. Instead of feeling like a customer raising a genuine claim on their 24 month warranty I’ve been made out like someone trying to chance their arm for a free pair of gloves. Knox further stopped responding after my email pointing out the above issue on the spines and me saying I could send it to them to inspect.

My MK3s earned my loyalty to Knox. The MK5s and, frankly, the customer service received have done a very good job of losing it.

Genuinely expected better from Knox.

TLDR: my Knox handroids mk5 had an issue, customer service abysmal, warranty no help, dont seem to care about lifetime customers.

33€ for return costs. Be careful when shopping here.

Just took delivery of the new seasonless base layer long sleeve top and leggings via Sportsbikeshop.The feel and fit of the new material used is not a patch on the previous version of these garments.

Just before the beginning of this riding season when performing a review of my riding gear, and specifically a Knox Urbane Pro Mk2 riding shirt, I found the elbow protector broken. The distributor where I purchased my jacket directed me back to Knox who directed me back to teh distributor. After multiple emails and 2 months of effort, neither Knox (5 year warranty) or the distributor (their own 2 year warranty) have provided a replacement. I have been left riding with defective safety gear. It is a significant problem when a company cannot fulfill their warranty, especially when it relates to personal safety.

Heavily invested into alot of Knox motorcycle gear. Thinking it would help.
Unfortunately had an accident and it just shredded the jeans like they were nothing.

Bought some handroid gloves around 8months ago and one glove has completely ripped to pieces while just riding without coming off. Spoke to Knox and they said they can’t do anything and blamed it on leather rot from gloves getting wet even though it’s only 1 glove that’s done it and whenever they was wet I dried them once done riding. Won’t be buying another pair as there expensive and poorly made

Really AWFUL quality. Looks nothing like the picture. They state they have a 30 day return policy, but when you contact them they offer that you can buy something else and they will charge you an additional $14 for the processing.

Straightforward and clear service. The ordered products, Urbane Pro Utility MK3 shirt and Urbane Pro MK2 trousers, were delivered quickly and well packaged. The sizes corresponded well and the fit of the products is excellent. High-quality material, high-quality sewing throughout the entire product. Product maintenance and washing is easy. I have used the products during more than 10,000 driving kilometers from spring to early winter. I warmly recommend the products based on my experience.

Knox gloves are very poor quality and deteriorate after 12 months light usage. Not what you expect from a product priced at a premium price level (I paid over £200 for motorbike gloves). Gloves can no longer be used as a they are split and dangerous. Informed Knox who did not care about my concerns and told me they had no responsibility as they are not the retailer. Couldn't do anything about it as I was 1 month past the 12 month guarantee. Shocking company who doesn't care about safety of its customers, only profits.

Orsa OR4 Textile, bad stitching, weird sizing.
The stitching of the bias tape started coming undone after first couple of weeks of use.
The sizing is strange, too, I have exactly L size by Knox chart, to a millimetre: 200mm length, 230mm circumference. After consulting with support just in case I got the L size, the gloves seem to fit, until you ride in them, then you notice the fingers and especially the thumb are too short as soon as there is handlebar in your hand. Talked to support, they said if my measurements are correct (which they are) XL would not fit me.
I just hope that the shop I bought them from will accept return and refund. It's funny, I'm glad the gloves stitching is of poor quality, as now they are returnable under warranty.
This is not what I would expect for the price.
Speaking of stitching, I see some loose threads coming off on my new Tor jacket, too. I hope, it's not going to come undone, if situation worsens, I'll have to return it, too.
So stitching issues seem to be systeic from Knox. What a pity, such good design and such bad execution.

I love Knox products, they're A+ quality and have a lot of thought behind their design.

Their customer services team are great and they have a great returns/refund policy which makes it super easy to get the right size.

Ordered a regular length jeans, and received a short-length jeans.
Customer service insisted it was the regular length despite it clearly being labelled as the short version.
Had to go back and forth with the customer service and they didn't even apologise for messing up and wasting my time.

Seam stitching failed on a pair of Orsa gloves after exactly 1yr and a month and only around 3000 miles of road riding very disappointed. I expected more from what I thought was a quality UK brand.

Knox offered to repair them if I paid for the repair as it was out of 12 month warranty. Zero goodwill for a previously loyal customer. I’ll be spending my hard earned £ elsewhere in the future.

Sub standard product & terrible customer service

I have bought a few things from plant knox jeans, jackets, Armer jackets etc I find the quality superior to any other you can buy on the market, the staff are so helpful and recently spoke to Jennifer shone to help me with a padded jacket I was after , she went above and beyond to sauce this product for me so grateful 🙏 thank you so very much for your time ,I can recommend them as a company and the products they sell ,such a great fit ,great for women's clothes too, most trousers have different leg lengths which is a plus in my opinion, ( and as we women know it's very hard to get the fit right in moterbike gear ) so don't bother looking at anything else, there is other stuff on the market ( for women & men) but not as good quality it's a little bit more expensive but you only get what you pay for and it's worth every penny 👍👍

Purchased a Knox Urbane Pro Utility in February 24. Had been looking for a medium in the camel colour and the only one I could find was from Motoin.De in Germany, The price was good, but probably slightly more expensive once VAT and import tax had been added by HMRC (gotta love brexit)! During a motorcycle trip to the Ardennes in May, noticed that the seam in one of the sleeves had come undone. Knox say they are uninterested in dealing directly with my problem and to go back to the shop of purchase!
No response from Motoin.de. So all in all a sad response from both companies. A shame really because the jacket/shirt itself is really good (other than the sh1tty quality control on the stitching, of course).

Bought an Urbane pro Mk3 to replace my summer textile jacket. As I live in Spain, I used to use my summer jacket all year round with a wind proof base layer.... can´t do that anymore! This is significacntly more breatheable and I am looking forward to some extra airflow this summer. (I´ve waited a few moths to post this review to get a chance to see how it fairs in 30C+, very happy)

My Knox Mk1 summer gloves (approx six years old / 50,000 miles of biking) finally needed replacing.

I bought a pair of Knox Orsa Mk3 summer gloves from Infinity, Chiswick, W4 as replacements.

I would highly recommend these Knox gloves to all bikers due to their fit, the ease of fastening using the simple capstan locking wheel, the feel of the bike controls through the gloves and most importantly, the excellent venting system.

The delivery was quick and I received the product I ordered. I do not think I need to give more than 4 stars for getting what I expected.
