Pickup Music Arvostelua

The step by step method is very
beneficial.

I had Covid in mid 2024. Stuck at home, I decided to tend my very small guitar collection, futz with the bridge, necks and tuners to try to make it something that I loved to play again. Throughout that process I got to talking to my friends about what they’re doing. One of them mentioned pickup music. I picked it up. I immediately dove into the CAGED method and haven’t looked back. I ended up losing my instruments in the Eaton Fire and came upon a used Strat that replaced my Telecaster. I love playing guitar again. I’m getting in 5 days per week. The Caged lessons, and practicing pentatonic is definitely the way through being hung up on intermediate and fumbling through songs I liked to play. I am hearing music in a whole new light. Practice your scales! CAGED makes that process super fun, digestible and delicious. Listening to the skills of the instructors, especially Molly’s clean and superbly warm tones is inspirational. The lessons are not condescending and it makes you feel like you’re a part of something. I have been telling everyone I know about this system. I only wish there was an app so would be easier to reference my lessons. Hence 4 stars. It can and will improve! I’m doing them all thru a web browser on my iPhone.

Honestly, if you want to learn guitar in a structured way and you want to get real people giving you constructive feedback on your playing, there is nowhere else. The grade systems for each of the pathways is setup just the right way to keep progressing without frustration. The feedback from real people after the performances has made a huge difference to my playing, especially in the short time I have been with Pickup Music. You would think they paid me for this review, but they haven't. I want to help other guitarists floating from one random tutorial/lesson or YouTube clip to another, like I was, to something that actually makes a difference.

Great Learning System - have been playing years but only ever noodling and not progressed probably beyond late beginner stage. Pick Up Music has me inspired again as it provides daily progressive lessons that help you develop and progress a methodical way. Looking forward to completing the pathways and then moving to specific genre pathways. Also there are bunch of other lessons that you can follow if time is short or you want to break things up a bit. They also respond to any questions you have very quickly and the advice received thus far has been very helpful and sensible. They also want you to video a performance piece which wil be reviewed - I haven’t used this yet but I will.

I've tried a few online lesson courses that claim to be a step by step guided course but this is the first one that I've experienced that actually fits the bill

Pickup Music is the best online learning experience I've seen so far.

Everything is superbly structured. The teachers and methods are outstanding. I've been playing guitar for 20 years, attended GIT in Los Angeles, and yet I can still learn a ton. I'm excited to see how the platform and community continue to develop in the future.

Pickup Music is the best place to learn guitar online. The instructors are phenomenal; the content is top-tier; and the video production is ideal for learning. The learning pathways and master classes are so good, and there is great variety in musical different styles. I really appreciate that you can submit videos of your playing and get feedback. There's also an active and uplifting community.

This course and offering has really made my jump into the guitar quite fun. I'm 48 years old and wanted something to keep my mind sharp. Very pleased with how this is challenging my memory and coordination. Pickup Music is perfect and Karl is a great teacher!

As someone who's spent years jumping between random YouTube tutorials and unstructured online lessons, discovering Pickup Music was a game-changer.

What sets Pickup Music apart is how well-organized and intentional the content is. From the moment you log in, everything is clearly laid out—whether you're a total beginner or an advanced player, the platform guides you exactly where to start and what to focus on next. No more guesswork.

The learning pathways are especially impressive. Each “Learning Path” is designed to build skills progressively, with clear goals and checkpoints. You’re not just learning random licks, you’re developing real technique, musicality, and understanding. Each lesson builds on the last, and you can actually feel your playing improve as you move through the material.

The teachers are very good. They break down complex ideas into digestible pieces and give you both the “how” and the “why,” which makes a huge difference in retention and application.

There’s also a great balance between theory, technique, and creative play. It’s not just drills—it’s fun, it’s musical, and it’s motivating.

Whether you're looking to sharpen your chops, dive into new genres, or finally get serious about your playing, Pickup Music gives you a structured, inspiring path forward. Highly recommended.

if you are truly interested in learning how to play the guitar, justify purchasing a guitar or another guitar, then this series of lesson will do the trick. In all honesty, this is the best guitar course you can possibly find anywhere and I've tried many.

The pathway and grading is perfectly suited for my level. Great blend of practical and theoretical. Love this!

I never thought I would see myself playing blues but this program has me feeling more and more comfortable as I progress. A definite must if you want play blues or be a well rounded guitar player.

The feedback is great but the way Karl teaches is excellent. The structured pathways are perfect.

With other learning styles from other apps I was not retaining songs or consistency.
The way the lessons are structured and how we work on pretty much one song I am able to break down other songs and learn them as well as retaining them.

I feel more confident as a beginner. I was using other apps for 9 months and I did learn but not in depth and detail.

My only change - the ability to print tabs.

I am looking forward to the app.

I am hooked and will be staying with Pickup for a very long time.

I have been playing for a few years via you tube and could not really sit and play a song entirely. I started this program at the very beginning and for the first time was able to make a C Chord ring true. Played the Journey song without issue and have been consistently getting better at strumming. Im only at 3 now and feel waaay more confident, and am enjoying the ride.

I'm really liking getting into the strum patterns and keeping up with timing. Plus all chord and barre chord changes are challenging. And the songs are fun to learn. I feel my stumming is getting better and better as I progress (drive the bus!).

So far so good , I am 1 week into membership and cannot complain about anything ! Learning pathway as a beginner is great, also performance feedbacks come really in handy. Different instructors for different classes and great community :)

Great instructors giving sound technical instruction in music theory. It's all great but as a blues and Jazz enthusiast love Seth Rosenblum's Blues course which I hope there's more to come. Highly recommended.

The best guitar learning website ive used. I came into this as a "Late Beginner" having tried GuitarTricks, Guitareo and fender play over the last couple of years and this is by far the best one.

The pathways are clear, each video is short bitesized and takes its time to go through each skill

Most importantly the lessons are fun, really enjoy the jams at the end of each lesson

I can really see the progress every day. It ist a great pathway with a lot of really useful exercises.
I can recomend a 100%

This CAGED series has been fantastic. I feel like the fretboard is finally unlocking for me for the first time.
