You cannot rely on the timeliness of Amazon's pharmacy deliveries. I needed a prescription filled urgently. My doctor submitted it and it took several hours before the Amazon pharmacist reviewed it. Then I placed the order and it said I would have it within 24 hours if I paid the expedited shipping fee (I'm already enrolled in Prime). I paid that and the 24 hours has come and gone. The shipping date has been extended 18 hours. If I had known this I would have ordered from a local pharmacy that would have been able to fulfill it the same day. The delay could be the fault of UPS, but it is Amazon that implied the expedited delivery would be within 24 hours.

I've had about a dozen other issues with orders and service over the past 18 months of using Amazon pharmacy and Pillpack. The Pillpack convenience is not worth the poor service and slow deliveries.

My inhaler was supplied by a company with a known quality defect that wouldn’t release the drug from the container - rendering it useless. When I contacted Amazon pharmacy they sent me replacement's that were equally defective. When I escalated the issue I was instructed to send a note to their drug manufacturer since there was no other recommendation. My doctor sent an alternative script to cvs with the same drug but alternate manufacturer.
CVS recommended second sourcing manufacturer while Amazon Pharmacy instructed me to send a note to the defective manufacture.

Customer service is trash and no help

If I could choose no stars. I would. I just got switched to Amazon pharmacy and had my first interaction with them after transferring my scripts over to them. I was notified that one of my prescriptions isn’t covered by Medicare, even though it is. Upon calling my insurance company I discovered I was indeed correct. I was then told that the script had already been filled and sent to me. Yet it never was. I hadn’t even put payment information into the account yet. It took close to an hour for Amazon to fix the problem.
I then received my first order, and was only sent a 10 day supply of one of my medications and still charged for a full 30 days.
When I called my insurance company, I was told that Amazon charged me $19 toward my deductible. But I don’t even have a prescription deductible.
I wouldn’t even recommend amazing pharmacy to a dead person.

The worst at delivering medicine on time as promised. I should have paid more attention to the reviews before signing up for their services. The price are great if your meds arrive on time and it means nothing when they can’t deliver as promised.

As I understand it, antibiotics need to be administered as soon as an infection is noted. Today is Sunday, I ordered my prescription on Thursday....after being quoted delivery to be by 11pm Friday.
I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED IT.
Now being quoted Monday evening.

As a long-term PillPack customer, I am writing this to warn others that the transition to Amazon Pharmacy management has turned a life-saving service into a dangerous health risk. Based on my experience in early 2026, I can no longer trust this company with my essential medications.
The Experience:
My February PillPack shipment arrived missing two critical daily medications. I didn’t realize the error until a quarterly blood test showed my A1c levels had spiked dangerously because I was unknowingly missing doses.
The Failures:
Zero Proactivity: When I contacted customer service, they admitted the refills arrived two days after my shipment left. Instead of sending the missing meds immediately, they claimed I was responsible for manually requesting them online.
Inadequate Notifications: Amazon claims to send notifications for missing meds, but their system is confusing and places the entire burden on the patient to "fix" the issue via their app or website.
Unreliable Stock Management: For other essential meds, I was told they were simply "out of stock" with no estimated arrival date. Their only solution was for me to transfer the script to a local pharmacy myself.
"Tech-Savvy" Requirement: Customer service confirmed that they do not automatically fill new scripts or late refills. If you are not constantly monitoring your email, texts, and the Amazon Pharmacy website, you will simply not receive your medication.
Verdict:
The original PillPack model—where pharmacists proactively managed your health—is gone. It has been replaced by a rigid, digital-first system that prioritizes Amazon’s logistics over patient safety. If you are not able to manage your prescriptions like a part-time job on a computer, do not use this service. It is a risk to your health.

Spoke to Jay today from Amazon pharmacy and what a great help he was. I was having some problem with my insulin and he took care of it for me right away no problem while I was on the phone my wife re-ordered and Jay told me I received it and I received an email already showing it’s been processed Jay. Thank you so much for all your help with great customer service. I really appreciate your help.

Have used pill pack for years, flawlessly. Amazon pharmacy took over and I’ve had to spend countless time straightening out

From my pill pack and I have to go back in and fix it. Think I’ll move to med box. Amazon is failing miserably.

What a horrible experience. Expected a simple on-line process. Asked to add my profile, did, selected my symptom to set up an appt. Sent back to add a profile. After three times called Customer Service. Was on hold for 15 minutes and a CSR kept coming on saying to please continue to hold. Overall, probably invested an hour and a half. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

This isn't a review this is to all the people complaining under these reviews.

Does Amazon Pharmacy have its flaws ? Yes.

However the people whining about the price, it literally says on their website with insurance price is not confirmed unless we have your prescription or to call your insurance and ask what the copay would be.

Second if you are whining about delivery and the carrier isn't Amazon: kindly shut up. We customer service representative are tired of hearing about it. We are at the bottom of a totem pole and didn't decide who delivers your medicine. It is assigned somehow someway by Amazons System. I want your to read that again. AMAZONS SYSTEM. Not ours. You people love to say it's ours like I helped build it. We didn't. Ask to speak to a supervisor and complain. Vote with your wallet stop telling us at the bottom of your delivery woes. We can't do anything but offer a replacement or allow you to speak with a pharmacist. That's it.

Third - for the love of God stop calling us / chatting is of your medicine price goes up. Call your insurance. They decided your copays Amazon Pharmacy is just the delivery service. Also if we tell you something is wrong with the insurance or it's not going through. We aren't lying to you. Call your insurance. Also if we have ask for your insurance information and you don't have it we can attempt to look it up but if it doesn't show, you will need to call your insurance. Basically call your insurance and ask them stop filling up our queues when questions your insurance can answer.

Fourth - we don't care about your threats. "I'm going to make my medications elsewhere". "YOU NEED TO DO WHAT I SAY NOW". No we don't you old fart. Granted most of us are laughing at our desks at your failed attempt of thinking you have any power. You want to come in chatting or yelling like a billy bad boy or a Karen you'll get the same treatment. Please do take your medicines elsewhere. We don't care. I use to deal with people like you when I worked at Walmart: "I'm never coming here to shop again!" Yet you are back next week.

That's it.

Oh and also another note - chats are fairly new to me but don't whine about not wanting to talk to AI then respond: "Hello?" After a minute of not getting a response. We are taking two other chats and are busy. Give us a dang minute.

I use/used Amazon Pharmacy, as they tout that they deliver. Uh huh.
They use UPS.
I received a naughty note today, blaming me for delivery issues with UPS. UPS stating they're unable to deliver as I was not available. Uh huh. I'm Agoraphobic. I am ALWAYS at home. I'm not lazy, entitled, or whatever one wants to claim. I am physically and mentally unable to leave my house. But, UPS blames me for their delivery refusals. And Amazon Pharmacy sends me a nasty note, blaming me for UPS delivery issues.
So, no, I cannot continue to use Amazon Pharmacy. I need my medications. There's a reason why they're prescribed.

My order never arrives on time. I'm left without my prescription for multiple days

I was looking for Anusol HC suppositories, and the average price foiir package of 12 is between $20 to $30.00. The price is much less in the UK, execpt they cannot ship the the USA.
Amazon Pharmacy has a listed price of $1000.00+ for the same package of 12. I chatted with Amazon on their chat line, I was told to speak with aassociate. I did not. I am a Prime member, I am not a Amazon Pharmacy member, I was looking for prices.

Still waiting on my medication and assed the promised time. I reached out to out to customer service and they are unhelpful. I decided to try Amazon pharmacy oppose to CVS or Walgreens and honestly I am better off going with one of those.

Omg they had a promotion that if u got a prescription transfered u got 20 dollars how they gonna say if ur on state funded like !!!im not on state funded dont fill ur script here

Very disappointing experience with Amazon Pharmacy. I was directed to pay $29 for a telehealth consultation because I needed a prescription. After paying and speaking with the doctor, they refused to prescribe the medication I needed. It felt very misleading because the service made it seem like paying for the consultation would allow me to obtain the prescription. In the end, I paid $29 and received nothing helpful. Complete waste of money and time. I would not recommend this service.

I wish I could give 0 stars. Amazon Pharmacy has been the most frustrating experience. I have been trying for over a month to get 2 prescriptions. I am waiting now for a medication that was supposed to be delivered by 10:00 pm. It is 10:30 pm, nothing has been delivered. I have called twice this week and talked to pharmacists asking for help but it has taken days to resolve the issues. And, I still do not have medication. Our insurance company required us to leave our pharmacy and go to Amazon. This has been a nightmare and feels like insurance fraud.

Customer service is useless. Tried to get meds and their system says my insurance is invalid, and was told the card was expired. The card that is for this year that every other pharmacy has no issues with? Sounds like just an excuse for a bad system.

It's awful especially if you have a business account because even after you sign out it still doesn't let you in with another account I would just go to Mark Cuban's website and forget Amazon because they're useless when it comes to getting medication
