I ordered two leather jackets and was extremely disappointed with the quality of what I received. Both jackets arrived heavily wrinkled, which was unexpected for new leather jackets.
The first jacket had a manufacturing defect inside the right sleeve. The sleeve lining appeared to be sewn incorrectly, with loose fabric and hanging threads, making it extremely difficult to get my arm into the jacket.
The second jacket had a zipper that became stuck during the very first fitting. The zipper would not unzip, and because the return tag was attached directly to the zipper, I had to cut the tag off after a long struggle just to remove the jacket. In my experience, this became an issue during the return process because the company later requested photos of the attached return tag.
Based on my previous purchases of Pelle Pelle leather jackets from various retailers over the years, I had serious concerns about the authenticity and overall quality of the jackets I received. The leather, construction, and overall workmanship were noticeably different from the Pelle Pelle jackets I have purchased in the past. I also found it unusual that the return tag was attached to the zipper. On every Pelle Pelle jacket I have previously owned, the tags were attached inside the jacket rather than to the zipper.
I contacted customer service immediately, explained the problems in detail, and sent multiple photographs documenting the defects. I repeatedly requested a full refund. Instead, I was offered an exchange and later a partial refund if I kept the jackets, both of which I declined because I wanted to return the defective items for a full refund.
After that, the communication stopped. I never received the return authorization or return instructions I had repeatedly requested.
Because I was unable to resolve the matter directly with the company, I contacted my bank and provided documentation of my purchase, photographs of the defects, and copies of the email correspondence. According to my experience, the company did not respond to my bank’s inquiry regarding the dispute. As a result, my bank refunded the full purchase price, and I was not required to return the jackets.
Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend purchasing from this company. I encourage anyone considering an order to research the company carefully, compare the products with authentic Pelle Pelle jackets from authorized retailers, and pay close attention to the return process before making a purchase.
