I supplied a ton of evidence against a seller called Dustaclean, who scammed me, and I even asked for a human reviewer. I escalated the case twice, and both times PayPal failed me completely, closing the ticket and siding with the seller instead. PayPal’s so-called buyer protection does nothing for buyers and only shields scammers. I will never use this service again — I’ve closed my account and am moving to a more secure service. Avoid at all costs.

I hardly use Paypal these days. They have allowed a purchase to go through, the merchant hid details of subscription automatically attached to my single purchase. This has occurred 2 times. I bought a tai chi 12 week program from Reverse Health. Hidden was the coaching fee of 179.99USD. Plus a subscription. I bought the program to try it. No one buys and wants a subscription without first trying the program. They stole rent money. The last time this happened, same issue, Paypal found in sellers favour. I bought sone storage food trays. Cant open them. Too too hard to open the lid. Theyre in the cupboard covered in their plastic wrappers. Paypal found in favour of the merchant for a brand new product thats totally unusable. I will see what happens with this rubbish. Absolutely no information about a subscription, no information about a personal coach. The trainer is the coach. You cant sell a tai chi program and theres no trainer. Just rip offs.

I put in claim against a japanese company, big mistake. I gave them all the information i had and they still kept asking for more. I have lost money because of them, they dont care.
I tried closing my account but it kept telling me i had anoutstanding account, i didnt i dont owe them anything, yet when i try to close it still wont let me.
You cannot trust them to do asll the things they promise, never use them its just not worth it.

PayPal you suck. Bought an item on Temu, but they could not deliver to my address. Asked for a refund. Clearly shows refund was completed in February. I am still waiting as it never was payed into my bank account. If you want to contact them, all you get is a bot, just keeps telling me it could take to up to 30 days. I think I will look into finding something else than PayPal.

I am totally shattered by PayPal. I have been using this payment service for years and been happy with them.
I made a recent purchase on an official Australian website for Lulutox. Being an official Australian website I incorrectly presumed the prices would be in AU dollars. It wasn't until my PayPal receipt came through that I found I was charged in US dollars. I tried to cancel order but requests were ignored. When delivery arrived I tried to return, but again, requests were ignored. I lodged a PayPal dispute & they closed dispute in Seller's favour. I escalated dispute & again they closed case in Seller's favour. How can they do that! I sent them all the emails, I sent them screenshots of the website and they still let that company Lulutox or FONSLIFE Trading get away with scamming people out of their money with non-transparency of the actual cost.
PayPal are no longer the company that they used to be. I think the disputes are done by robots and not anyone with a heart.

It has happened to me on several occasions. I did an IQ test that was supposed to only cost a few dollars. They took money $40.00 that was not authorised. PayPal promised to support and protect me. But like many other times they let me get ripped off. Don't use this PayPal you will suffer loss.

I have rung up numerous times about why I can’t pay in 4 payments on my account. I have just purchased something on line with the option of pay in 4. The problem is that it took the whole amount out of my account. I used to be able to do it, but it won’t let me now. I have just been on the phone waiting for somebody to talk to, for nearly 30 minutes. They give me the same answer every time about website problems or just talk in circles. They are good at that, with these overseas call centres. Cheaper than using Australian people would be the reason for that. I’ll use Afterpay from now on. Check out all the one stars on the reviews, speaks for itself.

If I could provide a minus result I would. Beware of using PayPal. I like hundreds of PayPal customers and non PayPal customers have been scammed by a company called Lulutox Detox Tea. The company also trades with PayPal as FONSLIFE TRADING FZCO. I provided evidence of this company scamming customers. Of customers esp PayPal customers requesting and not receiving refunds and of the product basically being potentially unsafe to consume. However PayPal continues to do business with this company.
My Bank ANZ is taking the matter seriously. So the end result PayPal is not a protective way to pay for goods or have PayPal money. Your bank most likely will investigate and refund.

I used PayPal for "added protection" when I spent $1.98 for an IQ test on Facebook from a Chinese vendor IQBrain. I was exceptionally careful not to give authority for any other transaction as my purchase was presented as a one off payment. Two weeks later PayPal allowed IQ Brain to deduct $28 USD from my account.

On appeal, PayPal found in favour of the vendor, without providing any proof or evidence whatsoever to substantiate the purchase.

On my further complaint to Pay Pay, to their favor they did credit my account for $28USD, but they had no intention to take up the shady, non transparent advertising practices of the Chinese merchant.

During Christmas we purchased a product via PayPal for $298.5. There was duplicate transaction created and amount appropriately $600 taken from our bank account.
Bank said without PayPal triggering it we don’t do it, so they asked to contact PayPal. PayPal took our details and promised a callback in 3 days. No calls received from PayPal. Again spend 3 hours with PayPal to explain the history. Still no resolution.
My money is taken twice and without comebank clearly have told the request had come twice from PayPal. However they still don’t take ownership and solve the issue. During holidays we spend hours with their team and still no responsibility, no resolution, no clear next steps

- PayPal don’t have call reference no. To track individual calls made with them during disputes.
- PayPal agents don’t read any history notes, make the customer explain the full history again and again in every call.
- PayPal don’t transfer call to supervisor.
- PayPal agents don’t keep the promise.

Once upon a time your transactions, credit cards and money were safe when paying with Paypal. Now, if you get scammed, Paypal sides with the vendor leaving you to deal with the bill even though your history proves that you have never bought from this vendor, their product or anything like them before. Your account and definitely your credit card are not safe with Paypal. If I could give zero stars I would.

I ues to like using PayPal but they keep making my account up by wanting to confirm staff with the most complicated shit I don't understand I have a brain injury and I'm normally ok with stuff like that but it is so complicated it just does my head in to the point where I've had to close my account wonder why people lose it good on use PayPal use are raecest bunch off people I should take it further and go see a lawyer this is how a use make me feel im so fesstated for no reason it's affected me to the point that now I'm in a depression it will take me days to recover so thank u PayPal same on ùse

I paid with PayPal but was charged twice by Sony Australia/PlayStation for in game credit purchase. This only happened because of a glitch in Sony's system. Sony doesn't care so they wouldn't refund because it was a digital purchase.
So, I contacted PayPal resolution center & gave them this same information. They said OK and opened a case.
The next day I get an email from PayPal saying case was closed in favor of Sony because the product I purchased from Sony was not misrepresented.
I never said anything to PayPal about the purchase being misrepresented. Now PayPal won't do anything more to resolve the double dipping by Sony/PlayStation.
I decided that if I have no backup then there is no point using PayPal as a purchase insurance option.
So then I tried to close my PayPal account. But I cannot do that either because PayPal keeps saying that I have to resolve my Account Limitations first.
But there are no account limitations. There are no funds owing, there are no automatic payments listed & bank account details have been closed & removed. But PayPal still will not allow me to close my account.
So what are the account limitations they keep referring to? It's just more PayPal BS to keep you signed up I'm sure.
In my opinion PayPal no longer cares about buyers because they go out of their way to make contact with them as difficult as they can. The actual important links that you need are not supplied & some of the ones that are there don't work so you end up going round & round in circles.
In my opinion it has been setup this way on purpose to keep you in the dark and to also keep you in a never ending loop.
I have also noticed that PayPal do not respond to any reviews which is a dead giveaway that they couldn't give a Dam about buyers anymore

PayPal is supporting a bunch of scammers. It’s been over a month since I’ve been waiting for a refund from a scamming app called effecto. PayPal keeps closing the dispute a few times because they only consider the scammer’s side. Shame on this.

Previously would have been much higher, but tried to buy now pay later through pay pal, apparently $40,000 AUD salary ($26432 USD) per annum is inadequate, if TrustPilot allowed negative scores I'd be using one here...

Suggest ZIP or After Pay, more realistic option.

I had a vendor(Relatio) charge me after I cancelled the membership. There was no notification about upcoming payments. No notification that my membership was somehow reenabled. Paypal has their own policy that a vendor is supposed to notify you about upcoming charges within 10 days of the charge. I didn't get any notifications. When I challenged the transaction, paypal said that they have reviewed the case and chose the side of the vendor. Not sure why they bother pretending to have buyer protection, might as well just use your credit card and bypass them. Paypal provides no added value.

we got scammed by a seller in china and after making a dispute with paypal and returning goods to the scammer and sending proofs and documents, paypal has decided favor to the scammer.So we lost money, returned the fake products, paid additional for sending it back to china and no refunds.

I contacted PayPal after my package wasn't delivered even though the tracking said it had been. PayPal told me to contact the seller, but they ignored me. PayPal then told me to contact the courier company who ignored me. PayPal said they had proof of delivery and that it had been delivered to my front door. I asked for the proof and was sent a photo of what may have been my package, on the grass out near the rd 80 metres from my house. When I disputed that the package had not been delivered properly or safely to my address, I was told the case was closed as it had been delivered. I never found the package. PayPal has refused my refund request.

I ordered an item and paid through PayPal, I got the run-around from the site where I ordered the item, and I asked PayPal for a refund, I did ask the site for a refund first and never got anywhere with them, and PayPal were just the same, I ordered the item on the 10th of October and both the site where I ordered the item from and PayPal have a 5 day review period and both did nothing.
I will close my PayPal account, as they can't be trusted to do the right thing.
The item is on it's way, but it took 2 months and I don't know if it is the item I ordered, but I won't ask PayPal for help.

Purchased KetoGo.app. The company then took out for extra services which we did not authorise. Contacted PayPal and they said they could not do anything as the charge was still pending and I had to wait till it went through. When it went through they sided with the scam company. Buyer protection is non existent with this company.
