Parkmyphone Arvostelua 7

A very positive experience. I had a home phone that i wasn't using but didn't want to ditch the phone number just in case. Parkmyphone.com was a great solution at a very fair price. Every time someone left me a message at my old phone number it automatically created a copy of the message and sent it to my email address.

I signed up for this service prior to departing the US. I expected to receive voicemails and texts as advertised. The service was spotty to nonexistent. I eventually concluded that it was a mistake, but I had prepaid for a year. I regret that decision. Ironically I tried to contact the company via telephone to discuss and was unsuccessful. I didn't even get voicemail, so I resorted to email. I visited the US and wanted to use an eSim with my number. The charge was going to be $50 for 30 days for calls and texts, no data. That is way above the going rate. You can find an eSim for that price with unlimited data. I strongly advise against using them. Use GoogleVoice to preserve your number.

I purchased the service because I believed the false advertisement that this phone line could receive SMS.
I had Skype previously, which worked great to receive verification SMS from my bank. Since Microsoft is shutting Skype down, I needed another provider, and an internet search pointed me to parkmyphone.
I am sure that parkmyphone works well for some services, but it definitely does not work to receive SMS such as bank login verification.
The problem I have now, is that they also want to charge for 6 months of a service that I do not need, and I am disputing that. No news from them yet. I will improve their rating if they recognize that issue, change their advertising accordingly, and not charge for the 5 months outstanding.
I went to Tello for an eSIM that I installed on an old phone, and cancelled the parkmyphone line. This is cheap and works very well!

I've been using this service for a few years while living outside of the USA. Super easy and cheap. Works perfect.

20$ cancellation fee? seriously? for a 49$ service? At least make it proportional to the amount initially paid!

BEWARE! They disconnected my number without notifying me, and by the time I realized it, my phone number had already been permanently released. They claimed I hadn't paid my bill, but I forwarded the receipt proving that I had paid it in full 3 months prior to shut-off (paid it by logging into my online account). I had no reason to think there was a problem. I got an email from the CEO saying it was "human error" and an offer to refund the fees I'd paid. No acknowledgement of the value of the phone number (my late husband's and had some business value). I talked to a few lawyers, but held off on pursuing anything because the CEO said he had hope of retrieving the number. But he didn't respond to my two requests for updates. I paid for a lawyer at that point, but she strongly urged me to reconsider. Their terms of service allow them to come after me for their legal fees even if they're in the wrong. I hate that I'm letting them get away with this--I've been pretty devastated by this and they take no ownership of the harm. The sole purpose is to preserve your phone number, so it's stunning to me that they seem to think there's no blame if they can't fulfill their one purpose. I may still pursue mediation or small claims--we'll see. But I want potential customers to be aware of their unfriendly terms & conditions and irresponsible business practices.
