Defect support is lacking. Had a very expensive figure arrive with an obvious paint defect (extra paint on the hair where it shouldnt be and cracked) and was only offered 10% cashback or points.
No hope of any actual resolution. I dont know who would be happy displaying a defective figure. No matter how much you may have spent. Went back and forward trying anything and everything. I even said I would post it back so they could send it to the supplier but they said they cannot and left it at that. Left with a disappointing figure in its box. Money wasted. Terrible experience

I will be honest, as I've seen a lot of bad reviews for some reason of TOM. First off, the price was great, not too much at all! And since it was a preorder I got, after 2 months of waiting by ocean I chose, the figure came in perfect condition! I don't understand why so many give them bad reviews, but I honestly trust this company and already I paid for another preorder I'm excited to get in the future! 10/10, I recommend this group! If you're buying a preorder, of course it'll take awhile to ship till its released, and as its from Japan itself, it'll take time for it to be delivered. Thank you for the amazing figure, TOM!

I wouldn't advise anyone to pre-order from them because they don't accept cancellations and there are hidden charges after your purchase. It's better to purchase when they're in-stock and avoid thinking of buying something from them and later cancelling it because it takes a long time to hear from them. VERY LONG. You have a 50% chance of getting a quick reply.
I give them positive reviews based on my own experience where they were able to cancel my order and refund. However, the amount of wait-time to hear back from them is awful sometimes. If I was a confident customer in my purchase, I'd likely wouldn't have any complaints.

Should’ve googled this business before placing order. Trust what people told you here, TOM is rubbish, none of it could compete with AmiAmi. You think you took advantage of a great deal, it’s actually a trap. Stay Away!!

I got the stuff I ordered fast and in great condition!
I have only pre-ordered one anime CD from TOM, so keep that in mind, but my experience was great, it was easy to order, it came fast for international shipping, the CD was VERY well packaged and works great! I haven't purchased any figures from TOM (yet lol) but I do know that they can't ship something to people if the manufacturer hasn't sent them to TOM yet, so I can't say if the low overall rating is warranted or if people are being inpatient but I had a good experience with them and will order from them again if they have something I want.

Been maybe a year or more of waiting for my package and I never received it. I had preordered the figure on Jan 5, 2023 so it was released a long time ago. I keep getting delay messages and they don’t give full refunds either for some reason so I either have to wait for who knows how long or get a refund that’s less than the amount I paid for.

They literally took 4 months just to tell us my figure got delayed, even though we ordered it in December of 2023. The figure was supposed to be released in January of this year, but apparently it got delayed until March, but a lot of people had already gotten theirs?? I’m so frustrated, considering it was pretty expensive and took a lot of patience already:/

I have no words..I ordered one figure almost 4 months ago and It’s still shipping..That was the first and last time I ordered something from this site.
Pre-order are supposed to be shipped in time.
I placed a pre-order on a plush on October 5 2023 and expected for my order to arrive really fast.
Usually when a product is in pre-order it means that you have received the product few days earlier in your warehouse and they're ready to be sent on the release date (Like CDJapan do for example), it's like promising that you will ship the package on the release date but you don't hold your promise.
Also, funny to say that the release of this plush was on December 31 2023 when the real release date was December 19 2023.
At that time of January 6 2024, I'm still waiting for my package but from what I've read so far, I shouldn't expect to arrive that soon...
And I payed for the EMS delivery, for a faster delivery.
I'm close to pay again for the same plush but on another site where I'm sure to receive it in time.
Avoid TOM at all cost unless you really like waiting ages for your pre-order to arrive, first and last time I'm buying something there.

En voyant les avis j’avais peur d’une mauvaise expérience. Mais tout s’est très bien passé. J’étais régulièrement informé de l’état d’avancement de mon achat. J’y ai commandé une figurine provenant du Japon. Je l’ai reçu hier parfaitement emballé et tout a été envoyé rapidement.

Also they’re one of those websites that makes you pay immediately for pre orders. Ami ami and big bad toy store are so much better and cheaper. They don’t require annoying subscriptions for everything
Slow shipping but great site!
Been using TOM for 4 years with over 50 orders no problems. They have good rewards points and of you get stuff during triple point sales around holidays it's better than other sites especially since it free shipping over 150usd. The catch? Very very long shipping times. They take longer than even USA based sites and they run from Japan. Some items are in the USA warehouse and others are shipped from japan but all pre orders from TOM take 4-6 months longer than any other website and I've been collecting figures for a decade and have used many many sites and even proxy services. Tom has beyond slow orders but they always fulfill it and I've never had an issue.
Package not delivered
Due to something the company did, USPS refuses to deliver a $200 anime figure. I tried to contact them, but there is no customer service. That leaves doing a chargeback as the only option.
Bad company and bad company "policy"
They gave me a defective product and was received broken. They would not issue a refund or replacement even though their policy said that they do. They "take care" of shipping the packages. It had very minimal packaging to keep from being damaged. Completely unprofessional packaging and customer service. Do not use them!
Ottimo sito per chi vuole iniziare a collezionare!
Mi sono iscritta su questo sito da circa un anno ormai ed ho effettuato svariati ordini per avviare la mia collezione di figures (molti dei quali erano preordini), arrivando a preferirlo ai rivenditori europei e complessivamente mi ritengo più che soddisfatta.
Il suo primo e principale vantaggio è il programma TOM Premium (gratuito per il primo mese e poi rinnovabile a cadenza mensile - 14,99$ - o annuale a 59,99$). Premetto che sconsiglio l'uso frequente senza abbonarsi perché in questo caso è oggettivamente più caro rispetto ad altri. Se invece siete intenzionati ad acquistare svariati articoli continuate a leggere.
L'abbonamento garantisce:
1) il rimborso delle suddette cifre sotto forma di TOM points, una vera e propria moneta da poter utilizzare per qualsiasi ordine all'interno del sito, con una possibilità di sconto che può arrivare fino al 50% del subtotale di ognuno di essi. Con l'opzione mensile si ottengono 16,50 punti ogni mese (corrispondenti a 16,5$), mentre con quello annuale 75 tutti insieme, che equivalgono a 75$. Sostanzialmente il sito regala circa 1,5$ mensili con il primo e 15$ con il secondo. Tutto ciò giusto per spiegare il meccanismo.
2) Con TOM premium si ha uno sconto del 24% rispetto al prezzo di partenza sulla prima figure acquistata e del 5-10% su tutte le altre. Inoltre, per gli abbonati è prevista una percentuale di rimborso in tom points di circa il 5% per ogni articolo.
3) Se si tratta di una nuova figure (e quindi di un pre-ordine) la percentuale di rimborso arriva fino a circa il 15%, in quanto è previsto il 10% di rimborso in più se la si acquista durante le prime due settimane dalla pubblicazione sul sito (che avviene SEMPRE in contemporanea con quella sui siti delle case produttrici e generalmente prevede il rilascio nello stesso mese). Questo è uno dei principali modi per risparmiare, perché per ogni ordine di nuove figure si ottengono sempre quegli 8/10$ di rimborso (che ovviamente aumentano all'aumentare del prezzo).
4) Con Tom premium i tom points non scadono mai, se invece acquistate senza abbonamento li perderete nel giro di poco, costringendovi a fare più ordini tutti insieme per poterli sfruttare.
5) Il miglior periodo per sfruttare i vantaggi di questo abbonamento è il black Friday di novembre, in cui il sito organizza ogni anno un evento chiamato TOM Super Sale: qui, oltre a scontare giornalmente i prodotti dal 50 fino al 90%, le percentuali di rimborso arrivano al 35% per le nuove figures e al 25% per tutte le altre, mentre i non abbonati pagano a prezzo normale ma con il 25% di rimborso. Inoltre, vengono rilasciati anche buoni sconto giornalieri che vanno dai 3 ai 100$ (i più frequenti sono da 3 e da 5$). Praticamente gli iscritti a tom premium fanno degli affaroni.
6) Ultimo grande vantaggio di questo abbonamento sono gli sconti sui costi di spedizione, fino al 20% in meno in base alla modalità scelta. Per ordini dai 150$ in su è gratuita, ma sconsiglio vivamente di acquistare tanti articoli per ordine perché verrebbe automaticamente selezionata la modalità di spedizione dai tempi più lunghi e paghereste somme allucinanti di dogana, ma su questo mi soffermerò poi.
Oltre ai TOM points esistono anche dei coupon a scadenza prestabilita con diverse percentuali di sconto (generalmente il 10%) che il sito rilascia frequentemente, soprattutto in occasione di ricorrenze, e utilizzabili senza minimi d'ordine. Questi si possono usare uno alla volta, anche assieme ai tom points. Infine, se si registra la propria data di nascita sul proprio profilo, il sito invierà per email un coupon del 10% valido per tutto il mese del proprio compleanno. Non male per farsi un autoregalo.
I pacchi sono sempre arrivati in condizioni perfette, imballati a dovere e le figure al loro interno originali e senza alcun difetto.
Concludo con i tasti dolenti:
1) I tempi di spedizione: il sito è generalmente molto puntuale con la spedizione degli ordini per quanto riguarda gli articoli già in stock e, se per un qualunque motivo non riescono ad evaderli entro i tempi prestabiliti, rimborsano anche il costo di spedizione sotto forma di tom points. Discorso diverso ovviamente va fatto per i pre-ordini - che non si possono annullare e sono soggetti spesso a ritardi a causa delle stesse case produttrici - e per i periodi di festa, in cui l'accumulo di ordini genera ritardi anche di 2 mesi.
2) Dogana: varia in base al peso del pacco e alla fluttuazione della valuta. Consiglio la modalità di spedizione air small packet che impiega una ventina di giorni. Oltre ad essere la più economica tra quelle proposte, è anche la meno invalidante per i costi di dogana. A me sono partiti dai 5 ai 25€, ma sempre meno di quanto spendo per esempio con goodsmile, che avendo come unica opzione la spedizione prioritaria spella.
