The optometrist Asda Inverness 14th and 28th September tested my sight and looked into my concern. I was given eye drops 28th to check cataracts. Thanks to his examination, professionalism, his communication, conclusion and subsequent referral, I am grateful and would highly recommend, thank you

Had my eye test a fortnight ago.
Picked frames but was told they weren’t sure if they were in stock. Was told that if they were, then they should be available within 2 weeks and I would be contacted.
Was ready to pay for my new pair of spectacles at the time of my eye test but was told that wasn’t necessary and I could pay when collecting my new glasses.
Was told that if the frames I chose weren’t available then I would be contacted to pick different ones.
Fast forward 2 weeks and I had received no update as to the status of my new glasses, so I contacted to enquire about where we were at !
Was told that the frames were indeed available but that my glasses hadn’t been made up as I hadn’t paid for them, despite my offer to pay at the time of my eye test.
I was then told that I couldn’t pay for them over the phone and would need to call into the store in person before my glasses could actually begin to be made up to my prescription !
Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances I am unable to currently call into the store and so due to misinformation and Asda Optician’s inflexibility to accept my offer of payment on 2 occasions and in 2 different manners ( ie. in person at the time of the eye test/ over the phone) I am unable to proceed with receipt of my new glasses.

Disappointing and baffling business acumen and customer service, despite receiving a thorough eye test and what appeared good service at the time of my original appointment.

Avoid. Very grim ,very rude they clearly dont want any customers .awfull in all departments customer service none existent. Dont think they will be around much longer awfull . Will never go back here 0/10

I've been a customer with Asda in Birchwood, Warrington for several months now having moved from Specsavers because of the poor service. Nothing but great efficient service in the store so was quite happy...until trying to order some replacement contact lenses online today. I registered an account, but there was no option to set a password so afterwards I tried to use the 'forgot password' option to create one. No email came through so I rang the local store (optician) for help. The reply was 'it's nothing to do with us, we can't help'. I asked who could help and she couldn't answer. I found a number online and ended up speaking to an Indian chap. He suggested I try the 'forgot password' option. I told him I've tried twice. He said you will have to wait 24 hours to try again . Told me there was nothing more he could do. That was my cue to find an alternative optician who provide local helpful service who make looking after your eyes easy.

I recently visited ASDA Corby to return an Amazon parcel. While walking through the store, I noticed the opticians and decided to go in, as I had been searching for suitable glasses for almost two months.

Before visiting ASDA Opticians, I had already tried Specsavers, Vision Express and Boots Opticians. I had also looked at the offers from Glasses Direct and visited several other opticians. However, I had not found the right glasses or received the same level of service. ASDA’s glasses were also the most cheapest out of everywhere I compared.

Although I did not have an appointment, Sarah welcomed me and took the time to explain all the available options. As this was my first time buying varifocal glasses, she clearly explained how they worked, the different lenses available and the current offers.

Sarah answered every question and helped me choose the right frames. I returned the following day with my prescription. Although she was working alone and helping other customers, she remained patient, attentive and helpful. She carefully took both measurements and explained every step again. When I collected my glasses today, she checked the fitting, made sure they felt comfortable and guided me through everything I needed to know.

Sarah was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and efficient throughout every visit. Her customer service was excellent, and she deserves recognition for the care and attention she gave me. Please pass on my sincere thanks to her.

I am sure that Asda employ locums who have purchased their own equipment either old or ancient. Having had cataract surgery I knew I had developed PCOas I could hardly see out of one eye. Asda said come back in a year! Specsavers had much better equipment and immediately referred me for YAG surgery. I should have gone to Specsavers years ago.

I have needed glasses for over 50 years.

The lady optician at Killingbeck, Leeds - on 2 May 2026 - was the best, by far, that I have ever experienced: spending much more time assessing me than at other dispensers, making copious notes and a full assessment of my needs.

She referred me for cataract surgery. My first eye has been operated on by the NHS and the whole experience has been a revelation.

I also found a couple of frames that were far superior to that supplied by Specsavers.

Glad that I followed up on the Which Magazine's recommendation that Asda are the best opticians to go to.

Instantly saw the frames I really liked.
Spoke to a optical assistant straight away who was extremely kind, polite and knowledgeable. She dealt with my request spot on. Took measurements, taking care that it was accurate. Informed me the process to follow and to expect a text when they were ready.
They arrived before I expected them and asked me to make an appointment to collect the specs.
Collected the following day with the same lady I'd seen before. Again, she was thorough in checking everything was to my satisfaction.
They are the best specs I've ever owned.
The bifocal lenses are perfect and the frames are terrific in fit and style.
I love them and will definitely go back to this optical outlet for another pair.
Did I forget to say it was a very reasonable cost too.
Thank you so much to both the optician and ASDA for a very satisfactory experience.

Recently had glasses from asda washington, took 4 weeks to get them and what a waste of time and money still cant see to read , was sent home being told to see if my eyes would adjust after wearing them for a day suprise they didnt.worst eye test i have ever had im certanly NOT HAPPY never using asda again shocking service all round

Exceptional customer service, had such a bad experience with Specsavers, Asda Aintree opticians got my confidence back in 1 visit & staff are incredible, soo quick & efficient I now have glasses and contact lenses I can see with, felt reassured confident & above all trusted the care & advice given, recommended to all my friends & family

WRT ASDA, Portlethen, Aberdeen : The front desk staff, despite not having the same level of clinical training as the optometrists managed to identify from my initial phone call that my symptoms warranted urgent examination and got me an appointment for the following day. They then called back shortly afterwards to request I came in on the same day, based on a further check with the optometrist. So I did. Fortunately, all was well. What an excellent level of service. All the staff were cheerful, friendly and very helpful. I've used ASDA opticians as long as I can remember. Always excellent service.

I recently had my annual eyesight test at Asda Spondon in Derby part of the procedure is to have what they call a fields test and I hate this test with a vengeance. As I failed to correctly identify all the blips on the screen I was asked to make an appointment for another day which I did. The second visit did not go as I would have hoped in that I failed it again and was asked if I would like to wait take a break or come back another day. I opted for the wait a bit scenario and on my second try of the day was successful. As stated this test really stresses me out. On my recent visit Michelle conducted the test and I cannot praise her enough for her patience, excellent customer skills and encouragement. I was never belittled or made to feel a fool. I would suggest that there are other Opticians I have visited over the years where the service I received at Asda Spondon was never replicated. Contrary to those who believe that they are not as good as mainstream opticians, the staff at Asda are trained to the same levels as those who work elsewhere and the Spectacles are better priced. Michelle thank you for the excellent way you treated me and ending it with a "high five" for getting it right. Now you know why I always use ASDA Opticians these days. Well done.

Fed up with Specsavers rising prices and the busy, hectic chaos prevalent in every store, my wife and I felt it was time we tried somewhere different. A colleague of my wife's suggested trying Asda's Opticians. The in-store optical dept we went to seemed very quiet and unhurried, which made a refreshing change. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful and the pricing structure very competitive. Our only gripe is that the range of frames to choose from is very limited. When choosing, the initial selection seemed encouraging, but looking closer many of the styles just repeat themselves so the actual choice in real terms seemed rather limited. So if you find a frame you really like, or you're not too fussed what you wear then 'great'!, but for me and my wife that wasn't the case so we both ended up coming away wearing frames neither of us really like. However there are huge savings to be had compared to the likes of Specsavers, especially when it comes to the 'add ons'. I remember years ago when Specsavers were exactly that. But now they're so expensive the name has become no longer applicable.
My advice go give Asda a try. You may be pleasantly surprised!

Went to Asda Swindon and was lucky enough to see Karolina. She helped me choose my glasses and had a good eye (pun intended!) for what suited me. She explained about the offer which happily saved me money. She is a credit to the store and was happy and friendly too.

Good Afternoon,

I'm not a happy bunny nether is my wife................. My wife (who has been wearing glasses since childhood, with no issues with any frames during all those years),visited your Adsa Superstore as Bilton, near Hull (out local shop with a round trip of 18 miles). This visit was in July (hard to say exactly as the receipt has not printed the date very well, so attached picture.
She purchased a pair of glasses for £45 and awaited the phone call to pop back and pick up the glasses once the lens had been fitted. After around 10-14 days we went back to pick them up, so far so good. When my wife returned to the car, she immediately said that the glasses didn't feel right. I suggested that she went straight back into the store and had them looked at and corrected. My wife said they would probably be ok, it's just that they were new.

For a week or two she persisted with the glasses, but she was not happy with them, my wife maintained that they did not fit right and kept falling down her face, so we visited the same Asda store and the assistant adjusted the arms of the frame, suggesting that my wife gives it a try and see how they go! We actually did this procedure three times in total at Asda Bilton.

This my wife did, but still the glasses kept feeling uncomfortable and falling down her face. We decided to try another Asda opticians; this time we went to Asda Kingswood. Basically, the same result. Adjust the frames and see how it goes.......

Finally in desperation we returned to the Bilton Asda and my wife suggested to the assistant that the actual arms of the glasses were to wide apart which resulted in the glasses falling down her face. The assistant was very reluctant to actually bend the arms in centre along their length, but did it anyway, as nothing was working.

This helped a little, but the falling down the face issue continued - it's worth noting that at this point my wife had been suffering headaches, due to the constant mis-fitting of the glasses and constant adjustment of them, coupled with the glasses being misaligned with her eyes, due to an improper fitting and thus eye strain which contributed to her headaches - which only started when she first started to wear the glasses.

Over the last few days, my wife has even had an elastic band holding the glasses in place, but this does not solve the issue. Nor should we be even contemplating new glasses been help in place by an elastic band.

My wife and I concluded that she had a narrow face - this has in the past led to her having child's glasses fitted. During or last visit to Asda Bilton, two days ago, my wife decided that she would try the children's glasses and found them to fit very well indeed, so she decided to purchase a pair.

The assistant told my wife that she could not have children's glasses as they were subsidised, my wife offered to pay the normal price without the subsidy - makes sense. But the assistant insisted that my wife could not have the children's glasses and would have to ask the manager. So an appointment was made for 2PM today (25th August 2026). We made the 18-milee round trip and were told that "the manager was not in today" . Apparently they had called earlier in the day, but we hadn't heard the calls or had a chance to check voicemail messages, But the point is, we had made the appointment two days ago !!

So here we are now, my wife still trying to carry on with badly fitting (because they are to big), glasses. Wanting to but a pair that actually fit her and being told she can't have them as they are for children.

Since when does someone have to fit into an age category in order to buy a pair of glasses, you purchase a pair of glasses that fit you, not a pair that keeps falling down your face, being held in place by an elastic band and still gives you headaches because they are not fitting correctly.

We are now considering a claim for ageism against Asda, for not allowing a customer who is not a child, to actually choose a child's glasses because they actually fit her smaller face .

Of course, could now return the glasses to Asda as not being fit for purpose and demand a full refund. But that fails to address the many visits to Asda stores to address the problem, only to be thwarted by your ridicule's rules stating that a person cannot puy a pair of glasses that actually fit her

I will be keeping a copy of this email and if I have not received a very positive response to this email, I will be posting the whole thing on customer review websites.

Extremely disappointed in Asda

Although I do value the quality and the glasses are reliable due to long traffic delays, and signing in for disabled parking allowance, I was 12 minutes late. A woman was not as friendly as the usual staff, and denied my eye test. Having safety reasons for test due to health I would have hoped this member of staff would have been more considerate, I normally wait a while, patiently if there is a delay, but on this occasion I don't feel that appreciated as a regular customer sadly. Let's hope I get the normal staff next time...

Big shout out to Melissa and Deborah at Asda opticians Nuneaton store. Very friendly helped me choose frames answered any questions I had 5 star experience. I usually go to a high street opticians but not any more could not fault my experience at asda well done.
