As per all the other reviews I got…
As per all the other reviews I got sucked in by the blurb. Unfortunately these heaters are useless.
2 different areas and no warmth
I plugged in two in different areas of a 176sqm home. After one hour I check inside temperature - 1 degree warmer. I increased the heater to 32 degree. I rechecked the temperature after another hour and still the same one degree warmer. If I sit right next to the heater I feel the heat.
Trying to return and refund now - very difficult, they only want to replace
Product is faulty
Product is faulty - the weight of the heater pulls the device away from the power outlet, exposing the prongs. The product was not designed to be used with a power board. However, Ulyana, the Ollaheater chat hostess insists that it be plugged into a power board, or purchasing one from them..
One of the reviewers, Faye Diprose, mentioned returning the product to an Auckland address. I would love to know what that physical address is. However, Ulyana insists that I return it to Latvia!
Ordered four but on delivery found they…
Ordered four but on delivery found they are not compliant with NZ electrical regulations and would be taking a chance to even use them. I have sought a refund but no reply to a number of approaches.
They as presented illegal to sell in NZ
This is a scam
This is a scam, clever marketing but it hardly blows out any heat. A burning candle generates more heat. I have alerted friends not to buy this heater.
There is no magic in these heaters
There is no magic in these heaters. We bought a couple to use in a 20m2 wooden cabin. They produce about the same amount of heat as a toaster. In the cabin they fail to cope with even moderate temperatures.
The quality is suspect. I had the swivelling plug fall off on one. I took the heater apart to reinstall the plug only to find that every other screw was missing. The element looks small, shoddy and not likely to do anything meaningful.
The plastic used does not appear to have any substance.
I cannot begin to imagine this to be anything other than a scam. Save your money and buy something decent.
I can make a recommendation - IF YOU SEE AN AD. FOR OLLAHEATER, RUN IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION!
A below average heaterOllaheater scam.
A below average heater. It produces lest heat that a hair dryer.
Don’t buy
I wish I read the reviews before I bought this rubbish.
We bought three heaters
We bought three heaters. They were not good for purpose. I sent them back to the address they were sent from in Auckland and asked for a refund. This was done within a week. So while we didn’t think much of the heaters we found the company to be honest and easy to deal with.
My Olla heater is a piece of junk
My Olla heater is a piece of junk. It's noisy, its unsafe, and it uses waaaay too much electricity which is totally contrary to the advertising puffery
I watched the advert and became…
I watched the advert and became concerned that people might believe the BS that they are told. One doesn't need to be a scientist to understand that the electricity being used is the only source of energy. Unless the device contained a nuclear reactor it's not going to magically triple the energy going in.
It is distressing yo hear that so many people fall for this type of advertising. Our society seems to accept almost anything that appear in the media.
And by the way the same device can be found on ebay for $25. And that's probably all its worth if you want to heat your toilet.
The biggest load.of crap thats ever…
The biggest load.of crap thats ever been sold on the internet. Absolute garbage.
Disappointing
Good marketing- shame it doesn’t live up to the hype
Do yourself a favour, DO NOT BUY. We stupidly purchased 3 of these…
We stupidly purchased 3 of these "heaters" and just wish we could turn the clock back and check Trust Pilot before we pressed buy. Honestly, you would get more heat from a candle or a light bulb. We were taken in because of the adverts being on TV, it looked so legit,
I have contacted them and asked for a Return of merchandise number but nothing yet. I would consider returning to Latvia but the saying "throwing good money after bad" comes to mind. Out of interest has anyone ever returned them ?. DONT DONT THROW YOUR CASH AWAY.
THIS IS A SCAM
THIS IS A SCAM. Do not fall for the false marketing. These 'heaters' are utter trash & do not heat rooms in 2 minutes. The 30 day back guarantee is also false because you are told you have to send the parcel to Latvia via a trackable courier service - it cost more than the rubbish you bought. You are stuck with worthless plastic and no money.
SCAM from LATVIA.
The advertisement is TOTALLY MISLEADING! This heater won't heat a toilet in 30 minutes. I contacted them via the chat box and they said that I could return it for a full refund, BUT I have to pay the postage. The CATCH is that it must be by courier AND the location is LATVIA. This is a SCAM.
Does not even deserve 1 star!
Does not even deserve 1 star!
Heater sags in socket = dodgy.
Heater blows out warmish air but in no way heats a room, even after 5 hours. Is not quiet. Such false advertising! Contacting customer service got zero response. Crooks.
The claims made by this manufacturer…
The claims made by this manufacturer violate the 1st Law of Thermodynamics. The Only way to get more heat into your house than you put in with electricity is with heat pumps which bring in heat from outside using the PV=nRT equation in physics.
Complete waste of money
Complete waste of money. The unit is light weight and flimsy. Greatly over priced and gives out very little heat.
