We Are NUCO have been getting students to the mountains since 2012. As The Home of x, we’ve helped thousands of students hit the slopes, and we’re not slowing down.
What is We Are NUCO?
We’re the student-facing arm of NUCO Travel, based in Cheadle, Greater Manchester. We organise university ski and snowboard trips to the Alps and beyond, working directly with university snowsports clubs and committees across the UK and Ireland. We handle everything from transport and accommodation to lift passes and events, so university ski trip organisers don’t have to juggle it all themselves. As part of the NUCO Travel Group, we’ve helped take over 100,000 people to the mountains to date.

Which ski resorts does We Are NUCO cover?
We run trips to resorts across France and Andorra, including Alpe d’Huez, Avoriaz, Tignes, Val Thorens, Val d’Isère, Les Deux Alpes, Méribel, Risoul and Pas de la Casa. University clubs we’ve worked with have travelled to resorts including Les Deux Alpes, Risoul, Tignes and Pas de la Casa in recent seasons. Val Thorens, one of our most popular resorts, sits within the Three Valleys, the largest linked ski area in the world.
Do you offer group ski holidays?
Group travel is our bread and butter. We work with university snowsports clubs and societies of all sizes, from a handful of committee members to trips of thousands of students. We coordinate transport, accommodation, lift passes and events under one booking, so club organisers aren’t chasing separate confirmations.
What makes a We Are NUCO trip different?
Our resort reps run the trip on the ground and, alongside our account managers, are core to the We Are NUCO experience. Every trip also includes a full events schedule, from mountain yoga to open-air festival stages.
How do I know my money’s safe?
For UK bookings, we’re ABTOT protected, so your payments are safeguarded in the unlikely event of financial failure. For bookings made in EUR, your payment is protected under a separate insurance policy arranged to safeguard customer prepayments, in line with the Package Holidays and Travel Trade Act 1995 for our Republic of Ireland customers.

Horrible company tactics
Horrible company tactics, charges 150 pound non refundable deposit, and even cancellations 5 months before aren’t refundable, they are doing this to students who barely can even afford a holiday, but just so to get a chance for a s space to the ski trip, there were never a very clear statement before payment about this deposit being non refundable, I have passport visas issues that I can no longer depart and they still tell me to sell the ticket myself, never encountered anything like that before

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re sorry to see that your experience has led to a negative perception.
When you booked your trip, you chose to pay the £150 deposit to secure your place and agreed to our booking terms and conditions at the time of creating your account and making payment.
We know that ski trips are a significant expense, and we work hard to keep costs as low as possible for students, but the decision to proceed with the booking was entirely yours.
In order to secure accommodation, we are required to pay deposits to our suppliers. Your deposit contributes directly towards these costs, which means that cancellation fees still apply regardless of when the booking is made or cancelled. In many cases, we also incur cancellation charges from our suppliers.
We do, however, offer flexibility to help avoid losing your deposit. If you were unable to attend, you had the option to transfer your place to someone else free of charge before the payment deadline. Even after this deadline, a transfer is still possible up until departure day for a £50 admin fee. This meant there were options available to you to avoid losing the non-refundable deposit.
It’s also worth noting that many tour operators and accommodation booking sites such as booking.com or Airbnb, operate under similar policies where payments are non-refundable if free cancellation is not offered and stated.
We don’t feel it’s fair to describe our policies as horrible company tactics, particularly as all cancellation terms were clearly communicated at the time of booking, and alternatives were available to you.
We appreciate your feedback and hope this helps clarify our position.

Hamish
As an oversized Oxford University student (yes, the chairs fear me), I, James, would like to extend my most ceremonious praise to our NUCO room rep, Hamish. Never before have I witnessed such a graceful fusion of organisational finesse, bureaucratic wizardry, and sheer human perseverance in the face of student chaos.
This rep didn’t just handle my questions — they cradled them. They didn’t simply answer emails — they embarked upon odysseys of correspondence that would humble even the most seasoned civil servant. When I was confused, they clarified. When I was lost, they guided. When I sent an unnecessarily long message at 2:14am, they responded with saintlike patience.
NUCO should erect a small bronze statue in their honour (I volunteer to help unveil it).
In conclusion: exceptional service, exceptional human, exceptional experience.

Thank you so much for the review. Hearing words like this about your rep Hamish and how he helped navigate the occasional maze of emails, questions, and late-night messages is amazing. This is exactly what our reps are there to do and to really enhance your holiday experience. And it certainly sounds like Hamish did just that.

NUCO was great and all, but Marc was exceptional. The love and care he put into making us feel safe and comfortable was unmatched, giving advice in a friendly and accessible way to ensure we had the best possible stay. Even if we don’t get our deposit back, it was all worth it to meet Marc ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Website not working
I tried on all of the releases to get the Varsity ticket using the account that I already had, but the website didn't load. When in the end I made a new account, suddenly the website did load. But then I got on the long queue. So in the end I had to buy a ticket from someone else to get the ticket. And then the other account went further on the queue so I got offered a second ticket which I then cancelled.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. After checking your bookings and our correspondence, I’m a little unsure why you’ve chosen to leave a 1-star rating.
Before the general release, there was an option to book using a flight code. If you had booked a flight and shared your flight confirmation with the Varsity Committee, you would have been guaranteed a place on the trip and received a booking code. These flight codes were used during the first and second release phases.
During the general release, there were still hundreds of people trying to book at once, which did cause some delays when placing deposits. You’re right that the process took a little time — something our development team is always working to improve during high-traffic periods. The trip sold out quickly, meaning many people, like yourself, were initially only able to secure a place on the waiting list.
Fortunately, we were able to upgrade all waiting list bookings to confirmed places, so you did secure a confirmed spot.
As you mentioned in your review, while on the waiting list you found someone with a confirmed booking who could no longer attend, and they transferred their confirmed booking to you.
When your own waitlist booking was later confirmed on 31st October, you no longer needed it. You let us know, and we cancelled that booking with a full refund issued on 1st November. The refund was processed and completed by 6th November, meaning it should have reached your account by 7th November.
We’d really appreciate it if you could email us at info@nucotravel.com to share more details about your experience and why you felt a 1-star review was appropriate.
We’re always eager to improve and ensure all passengers have a positive experience with us.
To summarise — you successfully secured two confirmed bookings for the same trip under different accounts. One was cancelled and fully refunded within 7 days.

Hello, really sorry to see your review.
We looked further into your booking, and you did cancel the holiday package you had booked and as such our standard cancellation fees apply.
You are correct in saying you didn't receive a refund as the cancellation fee was the same amount as you had paid towards your booking.
What has become clear when looking at your booking and communication with our team, is that your reason for cancellation was due to booking onto the other holiday package your group has for the same week and same resort.
As a gesture, we have refunded the deposit from your cancelled booking. Our team have already been in touch with you directly and processed.
You do have a unique situation with your group having two holiday packages for the same week of the season, in the same resort, with crossover of the package inclusions.
Had this not been the case, the cancellation fees, that had been agreed to at the time of creating your account and booking, would have applied.
