Rubbish experience with Nominus. Took money to register domain. Then didn’t release the details. Then asked for ID. Then told me domain I’d bought wasn’t avail. Seem dodgy to me. If refund isn’t received in timely fashion then will have to file with my bank.

Cheap customer service, I have registered a new account and attempt to transfer my domain names into Nominus, then they blocked the account after they charged me and run away, I contacted them while I was on chat they cut the chat and kicked me out, then I tried to login but was showing Access Deny, lucky I have protection from my bank otherwise the money I paid was lost, be aware of this terrible website, they are operating no where

After posting about Nomnus registering a domain through a 2nd .com, registrar Marcarias International for a little more than half of what they charged us, such that we could not directly view the DNS nor the lock status of the domain, or an auth code to transfer the domain away, Nominus has asked Trust Pilot for more information so they can "better understand our experience".

We can assure Trust Pilot, et al, the experience is real.

Nominus' ticket is (according to their own email) 7601.

We have contacted Nominus tech support on chat and by email. We have emailed them the response to the initial ICANN complaint and the initial Verisign complaint. We can assure Trust Pilot the situation is genuine and the situation reported is completely factual to the best of our knowledge and belief.

It should also be made clear, that Nominus has our contact information through the domain registration information AND, since domain are paid for by credit card, that credit card charge probably serves as identification.

We do not believe Nominus is completely forthcoming with Trust Pilot (in multiple ways) with regards to not knowing whom the contact is so they can "better understand our experience".

We believe the fact that Nominus has contacted Trust Pilot for more information to "better understand our experience" speaks to the integrity (or lack thereof) of Nominus as an organization.

If we could post links, we'd post that domain registrants can acquire the "transfer lock" status of their domain(s) by either contacting the support team at the respective REGISTRY (not registrar) directly.

Domain registrants can also view the domain transfer lock status of their domain indirectly through the "lookup" server at ICANN (we can't post the URL on Trust Pilot). They can also see the registrar of record for their domain in like kind.

So, we know EXACTLY what the domain transfer lock status is, if Nominus sends us an email saying the transfer lock has changed and Marcaria International shows the transfer lock is still locked.

We can see one of our domains HAS been unlocked, possibly pursuant to our e-mail to Marcaria International, as provided to us by Verisign.

We still haven't received the domain "auth" transfer code, ostensibly because Nominus is claiming they haven't received a request to transfer...yet they provided their ticket number for the request.

To demonstrate "good faith" we'll attach the original emails, requesting the transfer the domain in question, to Nominus' support and cc both ICANN and Verisign, which will also serve to document the date and time of the request. It should also be noted that we requested to transfer auth code via chat (presumably with their tech support) directly at the Nominus Web site, which cannot be so easily documented.

Nominus now has 5 days to provide the auth code before we file the official registrar complaint with ICANN.

We have better things to do than haggle with a domain registrar over what should not have been registered through a 2nd .com registrar.

Nominus will find out about our experience directly from an ICANN registrar complaint if they don't provide the auth code for the domain transfer.

One of the cringe-moments dreaded in registering a domain is the inability to transfer a domain away from that registrar and /or abuses relating to that domain.
We've been trying to transfer a domain away from Nominus for maybe more than a month now. The receiving registrar complains Nomunus sends them the registrant's email in encrypted format so the receiving registrar can't use that email address to verify the transfer request...AND that Nominus re-locks the domain after the transfer request has been made so they will have a reason to refuse the request. YOU WILL NEED TO CHECK THE DOMAIN LOCK STATUS MULTIPLE TINES DAILY WITH NOMINUS!
We have contacted Nominus customer support multiple times. The last time, today, they demanded a REASON for transferring the domain.
Nominus' cringe-worthy service is our reason.
This WILL be a bar to any future dealings with Nominus again. Further, it seems reasonable that we'll lose any other domains registered with Nominus so we'll mark them to just not be renewed.
This does represent a significant financial loss.
