Your site surveyor understood the issue and accurately provided a detailed report of what corrective actions were needed to correct the problem and prevent and further leaks. NHBC went on to support through the works until all remedial works were completed. Very pleased with the whole process.

Highly recommend
Honestly was dreading this whole experience but everyone I spoke to (on the phone - best way to get hold of people!) was amazing. So thorough, so helpful, so friendly. Explain everything and all worries in detail. Shoutout to Hamza for spending so much time explaining things to me. Also got my cash settlement quickly and all very easy and smooth.
The process takes time, but mainly due to the developer being slow. NHBC were amazing.

This insurance company is an absolute con specialising in fobbbing people with genuine claims off and they will find a million reason to deny your claim pushing me to go to use .my home insurance company ,I urge people buying new homes to read and think 10 times before buying and taking Nhbc warranty very very disappointed they dont care at all these fobbing experts in a robotics way

Poor Communication, pointless organisation
I went through the make a claim on the NHBC website and received a really strange email, it seemed to be from a human, but explaining what the NHBC do and a link to the form I'd already completed. I emailed back explaining I'd already done that - no reply after a few days so I had to phone. The person I spoke to was helpful, but ultimately my issue with windows, whilst covered in theory doesn't come up to the minimum amount of £2000 so not really. I'm not completely surprised, but needed to check, but after many years of dealing with the NHBC, I don't really see the point of their existence.

Following a lengthy claim process with…
Following a lengthy claim process with NHBC, I have been left disappointed by the overall experience.
Whilst NHBC ultimately accepted and paid out for a roof leak affecting my property, the process of getting there was unnecessarily difficult and frustrating. Throughout the investigation, I felt there was a strong focus on attributing issues to homeowner behaviour rather than fully investigating potential underlying causes.
Several mould and damp concerns were dismissed as condensation despite what I felt were reasonable questions regarding the sudden appearance of the issues after years without problems. Explanations provided often felt speculative, and many of my concerns were not properly addressed.
The accepted roof defect involved solar panel flashings, yet once NHBC opted for a cash settlement, I was left to source specialist contractors myself. Despite multiple contractors attending, obtaining quotations proved extremely difficult due to the nature of the work. I found it disappointing that no practical assistance could be offered in helping identify suitable contractors.
To be fair, NHBC did eventually accept responsibility for the roof leak and make a payment. However, the overall claims and complaints process left me with little confidence that my concerns were investigated thoroughly or impartially.
Based on my experience, I would encourage homeowners to keep detailed records, photographs, and correspondence from the outset.

Refusing to take responsibility for work commissioned by them
We had a false chimney removed by a roofer employed by NHBC - AFTER the work was done we noted that on one side of roof near the ridge was staining and mold - apparently that is nothing to do with them ?? to put it politely this decision is somewhat bizarre
