Worst worst worst
The worst experience I had was with Nextcare Insurance. We are three members in the family – myself, my husband, and my son. We took this policy, which cost around 30,000 AED. It provides many benefits, and there are premium hospitals listed under it. But the reality is completely opposite. The system is very slow. We have to wait a long time to get approval even for very basic consultations such as fever or food poisoning.
My husband had a slight rise in SGPT earlier. But now, a sudden increase was noticed when we did the test, followed by skin allergies. He is doing workouts and following a proper diet. So this sudden rise is difficult to accept.
To determine the root cause of this sudden increase in SGPT, the doctor advised an abdominal scan to confirm whether it is fatty liver or something else. Only then can my husband start his medication.
But the insurance company rejected all the approval requests from the hospital.
Now my question is, what should we do?
Should we live without knowing the liver condition or whether my husband has any disease while holding a well-known, premium insurance policy in hand?
Or should we move to India for more affordable treatments while holding a premium insurance in hand?
Insurance is an assurance; it is a hope. Everyone takes insurance policies to keep their future safe.
But now I am really scared. What will we do if we face any serious medical needs with this useless insurance?
